School board prepares for Witherspoon’s departure

Edgecombe County school board leaders have started working to find a new superintendent.

School board members began ironing out how they would replace Edgecombe County Public Schools Superintendent Craig Witherspoon, just two days after he was selected as a finalist for Birmingham (Ala.) school district. Edgecombe County Board of Education Chairwoman Evelyn Wilson said in a phone interview she met with Witherspoon on Saturday to discuss his possible departure. (Read more @ The Rocky Mount Telegram)
