Tarboro NC: Daily Southerner Newspaper Shut Down On Friday May 30, 2014 No More Papers

The Daily Southerner Newspaper last day was yesterday Friday May 30, 2014. This is going to be interesting because there will be a lot of meetings in the Tarboro area, school board, county commissioners and other will now have to be covered by the Rocky Mount Telegram alone. I believe the Southerner did a more thorough reporting on the news in the Tarboro area.

As Article XI, Section 4 of the North Carolina constitution states, "beneficent provision for the poor, the unfortunate, and the orphan is one of the first duties of a civilized and Christian state." Speaker Tillis’ and Senate Leader Berger’s policies have broken with this fundamental principle of governance.

This Monday in Raleigh, we will join together once again to remind them that their moral responsibility to care for the least of these calls upon them to stand up for environmental justice and for health care access for all North Carolinians.

This Is What I Do I Reach Out To Folks Whom I Feel Are Doing Some Good Things, This Is Dating Back To 2005

A moment in history.

Looking back at my old Blogspot page archives and ran across the following. Been blogging since 2005.

Ronald White and Mary Perry are still in contact. I have not been in contact with Joe Bowser for many, many years. White and Perry are good friends of mines and we communicate on the regular.

Ronald White for 4th Vice President NC NAACP State Conference of Branches

by Curmilus Dancy II

A year ago or maybe a little more I had the opportunity to tune into a broadcast NAACP NOW on Channel 17 whereby North Carolina NAACP President White, Ms. Mary Perry, Mr. Joe Bowser and a couple of more Presidents were discussing NAACP related issues. I believe the main topic was about gangs in North Carolina. I was very impressed with many of them and I looked their contact information up on the NAACP website. White had a website with much much information on it and I read over some of the things he was involved in. UPS was a major case that he was working on along with many, many others. I made contact with White. I sent an email to White and he contacted me early that Monday morning after the Sunday’s show as I was on the way to work.

I have found brother White to be true to the cause and about making a difference. This is from what I have seen and the different places I have been in his presence in the short time I have come in contact with him. Because of what I know about White and his dedication to the mission of the NAACP I have no doubt that he will continue to do good works. I trust that others will join me and support White so that he can continue to serve as 4th Vice President of the North Carolina State Conference of Branches during the weekend of October 6 – 8 when the election of officers will take place.

Sure She Set Him Up – William Reed Columnist

Where are you in the stampede to take Donald Sterling’s L.A. Clippers’ team away from him? Is it fair what has been done to Sterling by the NBA? Donald Trump called her “the girlfriend from hell” and says Donald Sterling “got set up by a very, very bad girlfriend.” In a recorded conversation between Sterling and alleged “girlfriend” V. Stiviano, Sterling upbraided Stiviano over being photographed with Magic Johnson. He told her it was OK for her to sleep with African Americans, but not to bring them to Clippers games.

The Los Angeles Clippers are a professional basketball team based in Los Angeles, California that plays in the Pacific Division of the NBA league’s Western Conference. The Clippers play their home games at the Staples Center, an arena shared with the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA, the Sparks of the Women’s National Basketball Association, and the Kings of the National Hockey League.

Is the Clippers’ owner a racist or not? Is the punishment and ridicule being leveled at Sterling fair?  The NBA’s longest-serving owner makes the argument that he shouldn’t be thrown out of the league:  "I’m a good member who made a mistake and I’m apologizing and asking for forgiveness.”

Sadly Blacks have bought the mainstream media ruse as they did in matters regarding the Jeremiah Wright sermon. An irate public and NBA stand at the beginning of what will be a protracted legal and procedural battle that will cost millions. The NBA’s response to Sterling’s racial controversy is a cautionary tale against meting out hasty, summary punishment. Fining and banning Sterling was probably well within the jurisdiction of the NBA. Seeking to force Sterling to sell his team will be costly.

Right now, Sterling is the gift that keeps on giving to mainstream media. Sterling finds himself in a no-win situation and being ridiculed for saying, “African Americans don’t give back to their communities as much as Jewish people do.” The trustworthy old corporate media has found a dead man walking and done a real job on the 81 year old as he consents to interview after interview, to beg for everyone’s forgiveness and try as best he can to show that’s he’s not a racist. It must be “a Jewish thing” mainstream media can’t grasp. Sterling simply says “Jews help each other” and when they become successful, they will help their own. The ultimate point “talking heads” miss is that Jews are generous to each other and Blacks aren’t.” Blacks don’t self-identify and associate culturally as do Jews. Sterling got rich because other Jews helped him when White people did not. As a result, Sterling acquired his wealth in large part due to the support he received from people in his own community.

Born in 1934, he was 25 when he changed this surname to "Sterling." Starting in 1961, Sterling made his career as a divorce and personal injury attorney by building an independent practice when Jews had few opportunities at prestigious law firms. He ventured into the world of real estate which began when he purchased a 26-unit apartment building in Beverly Hills. Sterling’s worth $1.9 billion.

So, what will the “lynch party” say when the record comes back proving that Sterling’s philanthropy toward those in South L.A. is greater than Johnson’s?  Forbes magazine lists Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Jr.’s worth at $500 million. From the early days, in 1990 when he partnered with Earl Graves to buy the D.C. Pepsi franchise, more often than not, “Magic” has been “the spook at the door” in many White-funded corporations’ “community” and “responsibility” portfolios. Magic Johnson Enterprises often takes an equity stake in projects with: the Loews chain, AMC Magic Johnson Theatres, 31 Burger King restaurants, and 13 Magic Johnson Sport health clubs. Magic Johnson Enterprises is a partial, but nominal, owner in businesses that include the Los Angeles Lakers, T.G.I. Friday’s and Sodexo.

So, what do you think? Is Sterling right? Do wealthy Blacks abandon their own people?

School board considers cutting 5 teacher assistant jobs – Rocky Mount Telegram

The Edgecombe County Board of Education will look at cutting positions at a special board meeting at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Edgecombe County Board Rooms in Tarboro.

On the agenda is a proposal for the board to consider a reduction-in-force in kindergarten to third grade teacher assistants and in exceptional children classified positions. Report: Miss. Judge Smacks Mentally Disabled Black Man, Tells Him ‘Run, N–ger, Run’

The Political Agitator response: Damn! Damn! Damn! SMDH! You see it is manure like this that keep me acting some kind of way!

A white Mississippi Justice Court judge is accused of slapping a 20-year-old mentally disabled African-American man and yelling, "Run, n–ger, run," after he fled.

"This is 2014," said former Canton Mayor William Truly, president of the Canton branch of the NAACP, "not 1960, where someone could slap a young man and call out, ‘Run, n–ger, run."

According to the Jackson Clarion-Ledger, the family of Eric Rivers has filed a complaint with police alleging that on May 8 Judge Bill Weisenberger smacked Rivers, who was hanging around the Canton Flea Market looking to make a few bucks unloading trucks. Witnesses claim that Weisenberger slapped Rivers twice and that when Rivers ran the judge allegedly yelled out the racial slur. (Source: Read more)

The General Assembly needs to get back on track – Rocky Mount Telegram

The Political Agitator response: Hell no the Republicans in the NC General Assembly needs to get their ignant asses on track simple as that.

We’ve all heard or read the horror stories about nightmare legislation — bills in the N.C. General Assembly or Congress that are thousands of pages long, containing more earmarks than anyone could ever imagine. The scariest prospect of such bills is they often pass, despite the fact that hardly any of the lawmakers have actually read the legislation they’re voting on.

So let’s talk about a refreshing exception — a simple, two-page bill that would require dog breeders to properly feed and water their animals. They also would have to provide decent-sized cages for dogs. The measure has the support of Gov. Pat McCrory and North Carolina’s first lady. It has been passed by the N.C. House of Representatives. Folks What You Need To Understand Is That I Say Things But It May Be What Other Folks Have Said, “Truth!”

I say things some times that I get credit for be it good, bad or indifferent. I have conversations with many folks, receive information from many sources and know more about some things that I don’t say. I say some things because I don’t care about how folks receive it especially if it is the truth. You see some folks are afraid to say what they really mean publicly because they are afraid of how family, friends and others are going to take them. Well I don’t give a damn about how folks take me as long as we are dealing with the truth. Okay if and when it ain’t truth, then challenge me on it and then if you are right, I will get it right.

We in the black community are so damn scared of the truth that we are sick. Damn there is an old saying the truth hurts. But damn when the truth hurts, folks want to change the truth or say it ain’t the right time or place. Hell who gets to choose when it is the right time or right place? Damn the truth is the truth at all times. We can put a twist on the truth but damn it does not change the truth.

As I get older and wiser, I am having a real problem with the truth being twisted to serve some folks fantasy. Well I stop by to tell you that until you receive the truth as the truth, then you are untrue to yourself. Hell yeah the truth hurts but damn get the hell over it and move on. Meditate on that! Now what changed? Either you continue in accepting the truth or you continue in denial or the I just don’t give a damn mode. It is up to you, but for me I will take the truth at face value, anytime and anywhere. Nope haven’t always been that way but the older I get the wiser I get and I feel much better at the end of the day.

I take sides with the truth and not people, people change but the truth stays the same always and forever!

"Ah yes, truth. Funny how everyone is always asking for it but when they get it they don’t believe it because it’s not the truth they want to hear.": Helena Cassadine

Truth resides in every human heart, and one has to search for it there, and to be guided by truth as one sees it. But no one has a right to coerce others to act according to his own view of truth: Mahatma Mohandas K. Gandhi

Without seeking, truth cannot be known at all. It can neither be declared from pulpits, nor set down in articles, nor in any wise prepared and sold in packages ready for use. Truth must be ground for every man by itself out of it such, with such help as he can get, indeed, but not without stern labor of his own: John Ruskin

The truth that makes men free is for the most part the truth which men prefer not to hear: Herbert Sebastien Agar

"When I tell the truth, it is not for the sake of convincing those who do not know it, but for the sake of defending those that do." William Blake

We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth… For my part, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst; and to provide for it: Patrick Henry

I Remember I Used To Say I Wish Black Folks Especially Myself Had An Outlet To Voice Our Opinion

We have a few black owned local radio stations that we can call in during a certain time and say what is on our minds. We have a couple of other stations and TV stations that we can do the same. However none of the above gives us 24 hour access to be able to do such.

Well then came blogging, facebook and twitter and we have a free outlet to be able to voice our opinion but many choose to play games or talk about issues that does not help the black community move forward to be a better place to live, work and play.

It tickles me the kind of ignant mess that some folks post on facebook while we could be using this free outlet to make a difference in our community. But I ain’t mad with them because that is their option to post whatever makes them happy.

Folks I am going to use the free outlets to educate and to be educated. This is my sole purpose of blogging, facebook and twitter. Folks I ain’t got time for games.

“It is better to be divided by Truth, than to be United in Lies.” Author Unknown

As I have stated recently some of the old sayings I used to hear and continue to hear, I just can’t get wit them these days because as I get older I know some things just ain’t as it appears. When one get older they ought to get wiser. Just because moma or daddy said it, friends and/or or pastor said it, don’t always make it right! To live a damn lie all of one’s life when one ought to know better is just too damn ignant. Hell yeah I am ignant but I am not ignant to the truth. I am not so damn ignant that I will live according to what others may say just because they are so and so when I know so and so is misleading me. But if one do not know better then their ignance can be written off in my eyesight and it will be up to the all and the man above to work that piece out.

I look at how some folks talk about family, friends, pastor and etc. and as long as it does not affect them everything is okay. But when it affects them they look at the same situation differently. Why in the hell do you get mad when it hit home when the outcome is the same but just because the people are different and it is your family, friends, pastor and etc.

One example that really used to get to me is the world is coming to an end. Damn been hearing that and I am 51 years old. Some folks got all upset when some folks wrote books about the world coming to an end on a certain day. Well the world did come to an end on that day for somebody.

I figured it out all by myself one day when I woke up and it came to me that hell the world comes to an end every day, I repeat every day for someone who do not get it because this is hard to understand. But you see the world comes to an end every day because someone dies every day so that is the end of the world for them. But damn here he go talking ignant. Well consider the source, I have told you I am ignant as hell so don’t get sidetracked on that. Look at what my ignant behind is saying and you be the judge. Hell I don’t have a problem with you judging me because I know who I am and whose I am so why should I get mad with what others think. I have no control over what others think about me.

Another example is some folks have a problem when black folks talk about what they have done and folks say it is bragging or they think they are somebody. Well if they don’t tell their own story who in the hell is going to tell it. Oh they gonna tell it but when the person dies and go to their grave but these folks telling the story were all about them. Well if they were so all about them,  why weren’t they telling the good news while they were living. They don’t tell other folks story because they are jealous and envious as hell. Well I am going to tell my own damn story because you can’t tell it like I can tell it unless I write it for you. And because I don’t want you to say a damn thing about me that you haven’t said publicly when I am stretched out.

I am not in the business of sugar coating manure.

If at anytime anyone has a problem with what my ignant behind has to say, just delete me because I ain’t goings no where and I am going to continue to tell it as I receive it with always trying to base my opinions on facts. Hold me accountable because I damn sure will hold you accountable as I feel a need to. “It is better to be divided by Truth, than to be United in Lies.” Author Unknown

Family, friends say goodbye to 3 men killed in Rocky Mount car crash – ABC 11

Resident files election complaint – Wilson Times

The Political Agitator response: Zette McArn (Wilson Co.) just because you have an issue with me, I do not go after folks when they are doing things that makes sense. So your ignant comments you need to make sure you are responding to me and not someone who are using my name (The Political Agitator). I can speak for myself. Since you blocked me from your page I can’t communicate with you. However the comment on this page probably came from Barbara Hallman Dantanio (Wilson Co.) because she has a problem with me calling her ignant ass out recently. I don’t hold good deeds against ignant ass folks because this issue with someone being denied the right to vote ain’t about me. “I have no permanent friends no permanent enemies only permanent interest!” I have a permanent interest in folks being allowed the right to vote. So Run & Tell That!

With tears in eyes, Tyone Savage filed a complaint Thursday at the Wilson County Board of Elections alleging she was denied her right to vote during the May primary.

And the North Carolina ACLU’s legal director said Wilson Board of Elections officials have an ethical obligation to investigate all complaints where voters state there are obstacles to casting a ballot.

Rena’ Morris, Wilson elections director, had previously said she would not begin an investigation until the actual voter complained. Tosha Bell, Wilson County Board of Elections employee, called Morris — who was out of the office — to get guidance on how to accept a complaint.

There is no complaint form, so Bell gave Savage a blank piece of paper and asked her to write her information down about what occurred. (Source: Read more)
