Conversation I started on Facebook
Folk we don’t need to be alerting folk where roadblocks are set up. Roadblocks are set up for a reason and we don’t know the reason.
A roadblock could capture someone driving without a license, driving drunk, someone who may have just committed a minor crime or a major one such as a robbery or a murder.
Yes I am guilty of alerting folk about roadblocks but once you learn better you should do better.
So folk I am asking that you do like myself do not report roadblocks in the future.
Let us allow law enforcement to do their jobs.
Now Dream about that part!

Jerry Solomon Jr. I disagree by law the roadblocks are supposed to be public knowledge which is why those roadblocks cellphone apps work

Curmilus Butch Dancy II Could you share the law that states such?
Roadblocks cellphone apps can be just like a Scanner on a cell phone but I didn’t question that. I am just stating about someone alerting others.
I sure would hate to alert folk and a murder or robbery took place and because I alerted them they got away.

Jerry Solomon Jr. Usually a manhunt is followed by numerous stories of a murder…half the time they trying to get ticket money

Calvin Adkins Sr. I disagree also. It’s not about money but saving lives. There’s no money made during those campaigns worth the lives of innocent people. Think about this, many of the times drunk drivers have two vehicle accidents the person in the drunk driver kills innocent people. I’ve been blessed that it has not happened to my family.

Curmilus Butch Dancy II I would bet very fews tickets come out of roadblocks and when they do they do not amount to a lot.
I look at it as safety on our highways.
Law enforcement is suppose to protect and serve.

Zeke Jackson In other states, we don’t have roadblocks. We view them as contrary to the 4th amendment and banned police from using them. Absolutely 0 roadblocks in wisconsin

Curmilus Butch Dancy II But who said anything about searches? Searches are illegal without probable cause or a search warrant.
A roadblock and searches are not the same.

Calvin Adkins Sr. MR. Jackson is it true that Wisconsin doesn’t allow soberity test road blocks or absolutely 0 roadblocks. I can’t imagine if a suspected killer us in a neighborhood that law enforcement officials would not set up a road block to attempt to capture him

Michael Glover Sr. I agree with you Curmilus Butch Dancy II, just recently edgecombe Co sheriff department confiscated guns and drugs at a check point. These are the same guns ,and drugs that could end up in your neighborhood, on your streets and in your homes then you’ll be mad at the police for not doing anything about guns and drugs. NOW THINK ABOUT THAT

Jerry Solomon Jr. No sir I’m not bothered by it i am law abiding citizen I just think what you guys are bringing up a point to something that the public has a right to know again by law it is supposed to be announced to the public so if law enforcement is doing there job people would know and should know and if people want to share that info there is no statue saying that it can’t so it’s my preference sir….I have trained with the NC BLET with Martin County so i know some of these weird laws

Curmilus Butch Dancy II Jerry Solomon Jr. I hope you are not working in law enforcement and/or seeking to because it appears that you have an issue with roadblocks not being announced by law enforcement before they are set up.
I wonder what is your take on undercover work being done by undercover agents. But please don’t respond.
I guess ALE Officers need to warn stores that they are coming in to check them out for selling cigarettes/alcohol to minors.
Oh I am getting ignant now so I need to take a shower and come back later.

Jerry Solomon Jr. I have no hopes to join law enforcement anymore too much corruption sounds like y’all are mad at the law…this is law people….the only issue is that I have is the fact that it’s the law…research it..undercover agents are okay if employed by law enforcement….but I don’t agree with agents trying to setup drug transaction just to arrest somebody a lot of that is going on
