"Your silence and your amnesia is complicity." Senator Cory Booker You Tell Them!

The Watch Dog response: And folk wonder why I do what I do because this mess is real and has been real all the days of my 55 years because I have heard about it and seen it. I refuse to be silent and ignant to what is going on around me. You see this is what Senator Booker is saying to these ignant damn other party folk when it comes to supporting the guy in the White House which is now a Shit hole. But the sad part is some black folk look at me as if I am the problem for making them aware but you see that is the problem, they don’t want to be made aware so I can’t hold them accountable for being silent.

DHS secretary says Trump used ‘tough’ language on immigration but denies hearing specific slurs
“Your silence and your amnesia is complicity.”

characterize African countries.

I Am A Die Hard Democrat, Community Activist, Life Fully Paid Member NAACP And I Am Serious About It

Over the years I have held back on some things because I didn’t want folk to look at folk that I support in a different way. Just because I support them do not mean they support me or even know me personally.

I refuse to allow folk to mislead folk about what our leaders are doing. I refuse to allow folk to pick and choose my leaders for me when they do not have my community best interest at heart. I do my homework for me and then share my findings with others so they can make an informed decision based on the facts as I present them. If my leaders are wrong I will call them out but if they are right, I am not going to allow folk to attempt to discredit them and I know they are lying.

Some folk I support you even though we may not agree on everything because we agree on more than we disagree on. You better know I got your back when you right. But when you are wrong we gonna have a coming to Jesus meeting and deal with the wrong.

I am going to be educating folk on what is going on around them so if you are an elected official, community leader, pastor or whoever you better know that I am going to hold you accountable and I expect you to hold me accountable as well. If we hold each other accountable oh how Edgecombe County will become a better place to live, work and play.

The DCN News Blog Online TV Hall Of Fame, Who Is Viola Harris?

This year I am going to be recognizing folk who are conscious and making a contribution in helping to make Edgecombe County a better place to live.

I am so glad I know our elected officials, community leaders and folk as a whole. I know who are speaking up and speaking out.

Edgecombe County could be far better off if it was not for jealousy and envy. Over the years I have been in the presence of folk who have talked about folk who are speaking up and speaking out making a difference in making Edgecombe County a better place to live work and play.

Who is Viola Harris?

Viola Harris is one of the 1st black children to go to North Edgecombe during integration. She has worked as reporter with the former Daily Southerner Newspaper that was located in Tarboro before shutting down and The Rocky Mount Telegram. She later went to work in a local attorney office in Tarboro until the attorney killed himself. Harris has been employed by Edgecombe Community College for several years. She was appointed to the board of Edgecombe County Commissioners to fill the unexpired term of Dr. Florence Arnold Armstrong when she left the county to go teach in Virginia.

Harris was elected as an Edgecombe County Commissioner for around 15 years and has served the county well. She has served on numerous boards locally and across the state and has served as chair of state boards and committees representing Edgecombe County well. She has taken a lot of heat from local folk especially from folk who are just jealous and folk in Princeville whereby she serve as their representative. One local board I want to mention that Harris has been a part of in the county is the Ebonnette Club where she has worked dealing with recognizing young folk in the county.

Harris has done a hell of a job representing Edgecombe County.

I was there when as a member of the Edgecombe County Democratic Party Executive Committee when she was appointed to the Edgecombe County Commissioners and I suggested to those who could vote for her to do so since she didn’t live in my district.

Thank you Commissioner Viola Harris for your years of service.

Today I welcome Viola Harris Edgecombe County Commissioner The DCN News Blog Online TV.

Rev. William M. Parker I Understand You Have Been Asking About When Our Precinct Gonna Meet And What Are We Doing?

First of all don’t get caught up in some b.s. with Rev. Roosevelt Higgs former County Chair, Lawrence Taylor Current Chair and some other Edgecombe County Democratic Party County Officers because I don’t think you gonna be ready for how I respond.

I am the chair of our precinct and has been for several years only because the former chair stepped down. I used to call you and some others in the precinct and also posted on Social Media about Precinct meetings and other political meetings but I don’t recall you ever coming to a precinct or a county meeting.

If you have any questions you would like to know about the precinct you know how to get in contact with me.  You just seen me on Saturday and Monday during the Dr. MLK events. However we are friends here on facebook so if you do not have my phone number, which is listed on Social Media, you could easily get in touch with me.

I was told you said what was the precinct doing because other precincts were meeting. Really? If they are that is good however the County Executive Committee ain’t even meeting so I wonder what the precincts are meeting about not that I care.

I do not have a precinct meeting scheduled and will not until the annual Precinct meeting will be held in February or March. The meeting date is set by the NC State Democratic Party and packages are forwarded to us from the county chair. As always I have posted the Precinct meetings on Social Media and in the newspaper some time. Not only have I posted our Precinct meetings but other meetings as well as the County Executive Committee, Democratic Women and other political meetings and events as well.

In the future if you should have any questions to save you some time I can be reached 24 hours a day via my phone number (252) 314-5484, email cdancyii@embarqmail.com and can be contacted via Social Media. This goes for anyone and not just the Reverend.

My phone number is also in the phone book and in the white pages online.

Local History

County Manager Eric Evans got it right during the Dr. MLK Jr. Unity Breakfast said many times our local history is lost.

You see this is why I document history and some folk don’t even understand the significance of such.

I stress to folk all the time that everything need to be recorded and especially churches because the last event may be the last event that someone attend. Somebody didn’t get that.

Now let that drip.

Interim chief meets local residents – Rocky Mount Telegram

Marion Stoga, who lives on the 1300 block of Driver’s Circle, said she has lived in the neighborhood for about 10 years.

“We are glad to see him in the neighborhood so that everybody knows that we have feet on the ground here in this neighborhood. And that is what we need,” Stoga said.

However, Stoga said she also feels the community should play a larger role in crime prevention and in helping the police

“We have to have neighborhoods where eyes are open and they are willing to be part of the solution and not just hide behind the curtains,” Stoga said.

Interim Police Chief Willie Williams began his series of Chat with the Chief events Tuesday on the 1100 block of Niblick Avenue, where 22-year-old Jahmel Montey Dales met his death on Dec. 20

A steady stream of residents from the quiet, middle-class neighborhood came to Rocky Mount’s mobile command center to meet the new interim chief and several of his officers and discuss what it will take to make the community safer.

Williams said he was pleasantly surprised at the reaction of many of the community members.

“I was somewhat surprised at the positive approach that most of them have had. They have been very open, but mostly positive. They talked about safety and said they feel safe, but wanted to come by and show support for the police department,” Williams said. (Read more)
