DURHAM

Presidential candidate Kamala Harris told a crowd of several hundred in Durham on Saturday night that it is time for the country to look itself in the mirror and ask, “Who are we?”

“I think we all know part of the answer to that question is, ‘We are better than this,’” said Harris, who was the keynote speaker at the Durham Committee on the Affairs of Black People’s 84th Founders’ Day banquet.

The Democrat said the U.S. is in a moment “that requires us to fight.”

Council to hear report on water system – Rocky Mount Telegram

A Rocky Mount City Council member more than a month ago called for a report about the status of the municipal water system and the plan apparently is to hear an update at the council’s meeting at 4 p.m. on Monday.

A copy of the council agenda, posted online on Friday, has a 12-page PowerPoint-like image from Water Resources Director Brenton Bent. The image lists information about where the city’s water comes from and how the water is treated, along with assets, milestones and recognitions and an update about projects.

The subject came up at the July 22 council meeting after public comments referring to the July 8 council meeting.

During the July 8 meeting, Rich Worsinger, formerly the city’s utilities director, told the council he believed Rocky Mount is in danger of becoming the next Flint, Mich. Flint was the scene of a water crisis from 2014-16, with residents there being exposed to dangerous levels of lead. (Read More)

Allen Andrews Have You Gone On Your Caucasian Friends Page And Asked Them Why They So Mad With Black Folk?

Allen Andrews Everyone is not going to agree with what is said when it comes to certain agendas, but my question is for the past few days I have seen on your post where you run others down for their race calling them “special” and “ignorant” including your own race at that. I myself treat everyone the same no matter the reaction or their opinion on any topic mentioned. We are to love others regardless of their ethical beliefs or demeanor in the community. Jesus not only came to this world to open a door for us to be saved, but he also lived among us to show us how to treat others. Why all of the hostility towards others when we have so much more depressing matters in the world today. Focusing on the lives of people and sharing the message of HOPE through Jesus Christ is our main goal so at the time of their death they will spend an eternity in Heaven……

My response:

Allen Andrews copy and paste:

where I run down others for their race calling them “special” and “ignorant” including my own race.

I am not you sir I will not lie that I treat everyone the same because some folk want to be treated special and I do just that.

I have stated time and time again I ain’t mad with nobody.

I am for justice no matter who it is for or against.

I have no permanent friends no permanent enemies only permanent interest!

Sir I have treated you with much respect I thought however I will not allow you to come on my page and create a narrative about me without producing the facts. Please respond to the question above.

Have yo been on your Caucasian brothers and sisters page that I call out by name and talk to them about the hate they spew out. I am just responding to their Ignant Racist Mess.

As it relate to Black Folk let the Black folk I call out respond for themselves.

Don’t make it appear that I am calling out all Caucasians and all Black Folk because that is why I say Ignant Racist Special Cs, Ignant Safe Black Folk simply because that means I am talking about certain folk.

What tickles the hell out of me is when folk like you respond as if I am talking to you. Do you feel guilty or what? I am just asking because I don’t think I have directed anything negative to you.

Fact Check Me!

Black Folk Do You Have A Problem With This Agenda?

Chris Sifford to Curmilus Butch Dancy II

A good friend sent this to me as a matter of discussion. What are your thoughts and do you believe that ac”Black Agenda” is essential? I will wait…
What is the Black Agenda and why is it necessary? We are living in an era where our civil, political and social liberties are being taken away from us and our lives are being threatened and put in danger every day. We are being shut out of the economic development and wealth building structure locally and nationally . Our access to educational opportunities and professional development is being lessened. Politically, we’re missing in key positions that have the power and authority to transform communities and individual lives such as judges, DA’s, education boards, and local municipality leadership positions.

Yet, in return, we offer little resistance and no fight to change the disparities or this declining direction. Instead, we engage in passive participation in these efforts to marginalize us and our communities by co-signing and and often times taking the lead to curry individual favor and recognition. We don’t understand that by joining and aligning without demanding equity and reciprocity we are active participants in our own demise.

We falsely believe that somehow seeking compromise is progress. We revel in being labeled as the first or only and think it is a badge of honor, but fail to recognize the limitations associated with it. When racial or social animus rears up, we are the first and oftentimes the only ones who call for peace and calm. This is a deliberate strategy to keep those Blacks who engage in this misguided practice neutered and unable to demand fairness and equity. Their reward is to be honored and recognized but there is no real value in the recognition There is nothing gained or accomplished except to keep black peoples docile and unaware.

We have people who will publicly assume roles and promote strategies counter to success and that have no positive bearing on the progression of the Black agenda. They participate, lead and try to introduce strategies to our people that yield nothing politically or financially. It’s merely a time wasting diversion so that the focus will not be on closing the wealth gap or seeing how monies and grants are distributed.

On the other end of the spectrum, we engage in pointless activities to identify where racism exists and who espouses it. We waste time trying to prove our subjugation and whether we are being unfairly treated. We should accept that racism is a centuries old societal norm that has manifested and developed in many forms and iterations, and we should not wait for a persons moral compass to align. That will never happen as power concedes nothing without a demand. There are those who despite feigning a love for us and our community do nothing physically to show it. We waste our time marching, praying and protesting with no significant outcomes or positive change.

Today, we have a lot of people who are designated as community leaders and activists but have done nothing to deserve the title. Writing a post on social media is not activism. Creating a recognition ceremony and honoring someone for longevity without sacrifice is pointless. Going to the MLK event , sponsoring a Juneteenth celebration, giving away a book bag or holding an athletic camp is not progress. What are you doing to fight for real change or progress? What have you sacrificed physically, health wise, financially family or personally to fight for change. If you’re a so called leader, tell me one thing you’ve create, Implemented, sustained and saw to the end that has resulted in positive change for our community?

We see aligning, inclusion and partnership as the answer to our progress. This misguided notion typically leads to the inability to create, develop, maintain ideas and ideologies that are unique and beneficial to us and our community. Instead of taking the lead and using the cognitive strength and creative powers of our own people, we acquiesce and allow the melting pot mentality to convolute and suppress our own ideas. We we do this, we no longer hold the reigns and control the direction of our own progress and direction.

So, what should be the focus of our Black agenda? Instead of begging for a seat at the table, we build our own. Instead of passively asking for permission to be respected, we demand respect through independent thought, and financial and political strength. . Instead of being pandered to, patronized and lied to by politicians every two and four years, create a caucus that can identify and run a group of candidates together that can have a majority vote. Instead of begging for civil rights, demand economic and monetary equity. Engage in shared economics to purchase residential and commercial property. Demand from your local and state legislators to know what development and vision plans are for your community. Stop marching, praying and being patient in the face of obvious racial disparities. Civil disobedience and revolution are viable and a necessary means to force equity and change. Wearing matching colored T-shirts and holding up signs in a meeting is pointless and ineffective. Having community conversations and putting sticky notes on a wall is a strategy used to make you believe concern is there. In reality, it keeps you occupied while your community is being gentrified and your access to wealth is being denied.

We need to expose those who possess traitorous attributes and are working against the progress of our community. Not only do we need to expose them but they need to be ostracized and denied access and participation in our community. When they preach this inclusive but one sided ideology and support the false idea that alignment is the only path to progress, we need to call them out publicly and shun them.

We have the intelligence and the capability within to achieve, so we can’t allow these false prophets to lead us to demise and destruction. Research how the late Winnie Mandela handled these type of traitors If Institutions and organizations are operating counter to Black Excellence, expose them and shut them down. It’s interesting how we will fight for LGBTQ, Hispanic and immigrant rights without question but feel like there is something wrong with fighting for a black agenda. It is not a separatist ideology, it’s just ensuring our survivability and progression. None of these other groups are stepping up, speaking out or fighting for us as they expect us to for them.

So, what should our Black Agenda be:
1. Economic, financial and wealth building. Implementing strategies to close the wealth gap. Demanding equity in access to grants and other monies. Passing on generational wealth.
2. Create entrepreneurial opportunities and support our own businesses. Outside of funeral homes, beauty and barbershops, what do we have?
3. Develop and control our educational institutions. We should have more Essie Foxx schools and Tsunami Literacy programs.
4. Understand and use political strategy to create majority’s during elections. There is no power in being a first or only
5. Take control of our communities and stop allowing people who have nothing more than a financial interest control the direction of it. Stop allowing people outside of the the community to erase the history and heritage. Other ethnicities have their designated communities so where are ours?

This is only my perspective of what the Black agenda should be. We shouldn’t get lost in the varying thought methodologies as long as we all agree on what the overall objective and end game should be. So ask yourself, what is your Black Agenda?

Fighting Crime & Attorney Ralph Steve Stevenson Is This Your Agenda? City Council candidate: Keep town as white ‘as possible’

The Political Agitator’s response: Damn Chris Sifford shared a post on my page that a friend of his shared with him. I have never met Chris in person but I love that guy because he speak out on issues. Fighting Crime shared the post from my page and Attorney Ralph Steve Stevenson has been trying to link that Black Agenda to Rocky Mount when these folk don’t even know Chris nor the author of the agenda. Hell I love it! I will not be Silent and/or Apologetic for being Black and standing up for my Black A . . .

(CNN)A woman running for a city council in Michigan said she wants a “white community as much as possible.”

Jean Cramer’s racist answer came at a forum Thursday to a question about bringing more diversity to Marysville, which is 95% white.

Other candidates gasped at her words, as heard in a recording posted on the website of radio station WPHM.

Asked by the moderator if the community diversity needed to be addressed, perhaps by attracting foreign-born citizens, Cramer said: “My suggestion, recommendation: Keep Marysville a white community as much as possible.”

But These Guys Right Here Warren Daughtridge Founder LoveRockyMount & Attorney Ralph Steve Stevenson Has Lied To Me Just Tell The Truth

These guys along with some other Special Cs want to challenge the Rocky Mount City Council especially Andre Knight and Reuben Blackwell but when we challenge the Special Cs they get mad as hell and want to play victim. They play . . . but then don’t want to get . . .! Well too late my friends.

The following post right here answers many questions I had for Warren Daughtridge that was in the Rocky Mount Telegram:

Warren D. said the group was not Political and I said it was founded after he came to City Council meetings and went in the attack mode. But Warren D. this is what I read, “The car wash is set for 2-6 p.m. at Pridgen Tire on Sunset Avenue hosted by Love Rocky Mount, the heart and brain child of business executive Warren Daughtridge. He said his new purpose in life is healing the city of the recent political strife and underlying racism with a goal of bringing city residents together.”

So Warren D. how your it appears that y’all political candidates Sandy Roberson, Lige Daughtridge, Gwen Wilkins and Tarrick Pittman are working really hard trying to unseat the current council members and to take the seats of those who have chosen not to run during this election.

Attorney Ralph Steve Stevenson had a damn problem with Johnny Cunningham questioning the money that was directed to him and his address: Anyone who wants to help but cannot make the car wash event can make checks payable to S&P Law c/o Regroup 1 and mail them to S&P Law, PO Box 981, Rocky Mount, NC 27802. Cash and checks also can be dropped off at S&P Law Firm at 874 Country Club Road in Rocky Mount.

So Steve did you account for all of the funds?

Have you filed the necessary paperwork for receiving the funds?

Who was the treasurer?

Just asking since all of a sudden Johnny Cunningham is a crazy man but that was as long as he was blinded by y’all motive. Johnny’s motive was good then and still good now, to help the Impoverish!

Johnny Cunningham is a brilliant man and that showed when he came to the Rocky Mount City Council and apologized to Reuben Blackwell and Andre Knight while sending a message to LoveRockyMount, Warren Daughtridge, Attorney Ralph Steve Stevenson in a nice way.

Damn shame these guys want to hold others accountable but got a problem with Black Folk holding them accountable for what they say.

Fact Check That!

Warren Daughtridge Says The LoveRockyMount Group Is A Group of Over 1,000 Diverse People Aligned To Get To Know Each Other And Do Good For Others

The Political Agitator’s response: I was in meetings and didn’t leave Rocky Mount until around 10:30 PM last night so I will respond more in depth to this either tonight or tomorrow. Stay tuned! What tickles me is some folk feel they can say things about other folk ie: Rocky Mount City Council, Black leadership and all things Black but when you challenger them they have a problem with the challenger and/or attempt to threaten them.

THU 7:39 AM

Warren Daughtridge

Mr Dancy I have said this to Johnny and to you and have to say it again. LoveRockyMount was not in charge of the beach trip. Johnny and a group called Young Renovators was. Donations were made out to them or to ReGroup1. I respectfully request that you refrain from associating LoveRockyMount with donations. We were not the organization that managed that program. We were the forum on which a conversation started from which the project was born. We don’t request it accept donations. We don’t have an account into which they would be deposited. We aren’t even a legal entity, yet. You may have a problem with me personally but I am NOT LoveRockyMount. I organized it but it is a group of over 1,000 diverse people, aligned to get to know each other and do good for others.

THU 2:15 PM
Curmilus

A group is no more than I have 4999 diverse followers so your point? You said you would respond but came back and said it was none of my business. I will pull the entire post to re-read what you said

Warren Daughtridge

I’m not trying to compare your group of friends to mine. I am just stating that LoveRockyMount is a group of people and not an individual. It didn’t do a bus trip. People that happen to be members of the group helped in the bus trip.

Please let me know to which post I did not respond. I thought I responded to each of them. I will be happy to address as I can.

THU 3:44 PM

Warren Daughtridge

Also, I wanted you to know. I tried very hard to explain everything Johnny wanted to know about the car wash. It wasn’t my event, he knows that, but Roger asked me to try to sort things out and mend things with him, so I did. I couldn’t make any headway with him so I offered to pay for an independent counselor, a professional mediator to meet with the two sides to iron things out. That did not go over well. He adamantly refused. The offer still stands btw… Mr. Dancy, I care about our community. I truly hurt for the impoverished of all races. My wife and I both, are caring people and, though flawed, try hard to be good examples and do the right thing. I apologized when I hurt you with my careless words. I hope you will consider this when writing about me and my group in the future.

Curmilus

I didn’t say you were compared it I just stated a fact. LoveRockyMount is you you accepted friends in the name of LoveRockyMount no different. FACT! The post is on my page so I ain’t going there. But I will respond to this when I get to my laptop. I understood what you said in your 1st inbox and I will address it further. I am not Johnny Cunningham nor is he me.

Warren Daughtridge

I know all that Mr. Dancy (ps I sure would appreciate knowing what you go by? It is Butch? May I use that?) I do accept members to the group but I can only monitor whay they say on the group page. I can’t control what they say outside the group. Heck, I don’t even know most of them. I seriously want to know what I didn’t answer. I committed to try and commit to do so to the best of my ability.

Curmilus

I manage my page. I am not going to allow folk to lie on you if I know it is a lie although you have a problem with me, my style per say. That is the problem I have with you simply because you have a problem with me. I don’t know you and I respond to what you say when it comes to me and Black Folk.

Warren Daughtridge

We are probably going to have issues with individual viewpoints until Christ returns. Until then, I I tend to TRY to treat people with respect and assume they are decent human beings.

Curmilus

Likewise!

The following post right here answers many questions I had for Warren Daughtridge that was in the Rocky Mount Telegram:

Car wash to fund beach trip – Rocky Mount Telegram

Johnny Cunningham and I have united and put our past differences behind us.

The Political Agitator’s response: I get so sick and tired of folk trying to use black children to accomplish their mission when it comes to RACE. I sit back and watch who fall for it. These same folk attend the Rocky Mount City Council meetings, get on WHIG-TV, Rocky Mount Concerned Citizens, Community Council, 252 Hoodnewz and other social media sites and talk about the children’s leadership. I am not ignant to what is going on. Warren Daughtridge sent me a friend request some time ago but then unfriended me because I called him out about his message at the Rocky Mount Council meeting. Johnny Cunningham so what makes him and who made him a prominent local contractor? This dude is always talking about me on the sites that have me blocked. Folk be sending me screenshots of the filthy hardcore language he be posting along with the lies. So them kind of black folk is used to attempt to create division in Rocky Mount.

Imagine having never been to the beach, never playing in the sand and surf.

It is a reality for some Rocky Mount children — a reality that is about to change as residents come together on Saturday to hold a free car wash with donations going toward helping less fortunate children take their first trip to see the ocean and enjoy all that a day at the beach has to offer.

The car wash is set for 2-6 p.m. at Pridgen Tire on Sunset Avenue hosted by Love Rocky Mount, the heart and brain child of business executive Warren Daughtridge. He said his new purpose in life is healing the city of the recent political strife and underlying racism with a goal of bringing city residents together.

Love Rocky Mount is new, but it means business, said Johnny Cunningham, a prominent local contractor and founder of ReGroup 1, a charity organization that works to rehab and restore old rundown homes in low-income communities and create jobs for young men that in most cases have criminal records.

Cunningham said he went to the first Love Rocky Mount meeting in mid-March at Rocky Mount Mills and was amazed how people wanted to do something positive in the community.

Cunningham mentioned in a conversation on the group’s Facebook page that there were children in Rocky Mount who never had been to the beach.

“We have kids that have never felt hot sand between their toes and salt water splashing on them,” Cunningham said.

In three days, 300 people joined in the online conversation in how to get Rocky Mount children to the beach.

A committee quickly formed and now 40-plus children are set to take a charter bus in June to Fort Macon near Atlantic Beach.

“This is all first-class all the way,” Cunningham said. “It’s an educational trip where these kids will get exposure to more than the world right around them. I remember when the schools were integrated and I was bused 40 minutes away. My neighborhood was working class. Everyone worked. Here I was rolling through neighborhoods with manicured lawns and three-story brick houses. I saw that there’s more out there. It made me want to work to achieve my goals.

“That’s what the car wash is about,” he said. “It’s raising money, but it’s about these kids earning a seat on that bus to the beach. It’s sweat equity. And learning to work together.”

Cunningham said the children live in the projects and do not often see different people working together — and here are people working to help them go somewhere special.

“These are fresh new people,” Cunningham said. “A who’s who of Rocky Mount taking their time to help these kids get to the beach. Their hearts were tugged when they realized there were kids right here in Rocky Mount who have never seen the ocean. These are strangers who could not sit by and let it happen.”

Chef Jamais Brown will have food with all proceeds to be donated to the beach trip. The Blind Dog at Lowes will donate a portion of Saturday proceeds to the trip. The event also has a slew of corporate sponsors.

Anyone who wants to help but cannot make the car wash event can make checks payable to S&P Law c/o Regroup 1 and mail them to S&P Law, PO Box 981, Rocky Mount, NC 27802. Cash and checks also can be dropped off at S&P Law Firm at 874 Country Club Road in Rocky Mount.

Credit card donations can be made by calling S&P at 252-443-2195.

Love Rocky Mount is just getting its feet wet with the car wash and beach trip. Back-to-school and other events are being planned.
