Governor Roy Cooper From One Democrat To Another It Is Not Okay

I was sadden to learn about the press conference a few days ago when I got off work where you encouraged all schools to open up for in person learning. It is a damn shame to encourage such when teachers have not been given the opportunity to take the COVID Vaccine if they choose to do so. They have not been included in the 1st rounds of vaccinations.

Mr. Governor although you didn’t make it mandatory that schools open, in which I do not think you can, I believe that something is missing from the equation with you teaming up with the Republican Superintendent of Schools to talk about opening schools.

The problem I have, especially with talking to some teachers, parents and concerned folk is that it is Black folk who are majority affected by COVID-19. However the Whites have received the vaccination overwhelmingly.

Teachers have no choice in the matter about going back to schools but the parents have options.

It is a damn shame that some folk are talking about the need for children to be in the classroom so they can learn more, because they need to interact with other children and etc. So all of that outweighs putting children and teachers life on the line? Really!

I am against the reopening of schools until the teachers (those who want to take the vaccinations) are in line for the vaccination however also keeping in mind that the opening of schools should only come after the teachers have received both the 1st and the 2nd shots.

Mr. Governor I know President Joe Biden is talking about the safely opening of schools as well, however he makes no sense either until the teachers are vaccinated.

Ill wait!

Three cabinet heads to leave Cooper administration

RALEIGH, N.C. — Three cabinet heads will be leaving Gov. Roy Cooper’s administration as he starts a second term: Secretary of Commerce Tony Copeland, Secretary of Military and Veterans Affairs Larry Hall and Secretary of Natural and Cultural Resources Susi Hamilton.

Cooper’s office announced the DMVA and DNCR departures via news release Tuesday afternoon. Hamilton said she plans to “refocus my energy and efforts” on eastern North Carolina and that “plans are in process for my next endeavor,” with more information to come in the next few weeks. (Read more)

Nearly half of NC counties are now in coronavirus ‘red’ zone. Here are the 48 listed

The Political Agitator’s response: Thank you Governor and Team!

At least 48 of North Carolina’s 100 counties are now in the “red” zone on the state’s COVID-19 risk map — more double the number during the week of Thanksgiving.

Red indicates “critical community spread,” according to the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services.

The updated map comes as Gov. Roy Cooper announced a modified stay-at-home order on Tuesday that includes a 10 p.m. curfew. The order starts Friday and will remain in effect until Jan. 8.

State health officials released the new county alert system last month to help residents, businesses and public officials make better-informed decisions about how to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Under the three-tiered system, each county is color-coded red, orange, or yellow according to the level of spread.

Red indicates more than 200 cases per 100,000 people in a two-week span, a positive test rate higher than 10% or high impact on county hospitals.

‘We are in danger.’ NC governor issues dire COVID-19 warning, adds more mask rules

The Political Agitator’s response: Thank you Governor for the update. I am waiting on you to take us back to Phrase 1 because Trump and his supporters have gotten us in the situation we are in.

North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper announced a new set of mask requirements Monday, calling them the state’s “best weapon” against a “dire” spread of COVID-19.

He said the state now has 20 counties considered “red” under the state’s new coronavirus alert system — double what it was when the color-coded alerts were introduced last week. Counties can also be ranked orange or yellow.

The new executive order implements the new mask rules Nov. 25 at 5 p.m. and also extends North Carolina’s Phase 3 executive order to Dec. 11, one week after it was set to expire.

“We are in danger,” Cooper said at a press conference Monday.

Cooper’s briefing came shortly after the state Department of Health and Human Services reported 1,601 people hospitalized with COVID-19 in North Carolina, a new record, and before the Thanksgiving holiday. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has strongly advised that people do not travel for the holiday. (Read more)

Following the Data, North Carolina Will Remain Paused in Phase 3

The Political Agitator’s response: If I was the Governor I would go back into Phase 1 since so many folk do not want to wear a mask. But I appreciate his efforts trying to keep us safe even ungrateful folk.

Raleigh

Oct 21, 2020

Governor Roy Cooper announced today that North Carolina will remain paused in Phase 3 for three more weeks as health officials continue to monitor North Carolina’s viral trends. North Carolina has seen increased hospitalizations and trajectory of cases in recent weeks. Governor Cooper underscored the importance of wearing masks, social distancing, and using good judgment despite fatigue or frustration with the pandemic.

“As this pandemic continues, I know it’s difficult and tiring to keep up our guard, especially when we’re gathered with people we love. But it’s necessary. No one wants to spread COVID-19 accidentally to friends or family, so we must keep prevention at the forefront,” said Governor Cooper. “Wearing a mask shows you care about people. Wearing a mask is an easy way to protect our communities and look out for each other. Confronting the virus head on and doing our part as individuals is good for our health and good for our economy.”

Also today, Governor Cooper updated on progress with the NC Housing Opportunities and Prevention of Evictions (HOPE) program. Since Governor Cooper announced the (HOPE) Program last week, 12,000 eligible applicants have filed for assistance. The HOPE Program provides assistance to eligible low-and-moderate income renters experiencing financial hardship due to the pandemic by making direct payments to landlords and utility companies. People can apply for help by calling 2-1-1 or going to nc211.org/hope.

“As the number of applications climbs higher every day, it should make us remember that it’s more than a number. Every one of those applications represents a family having to make impossible choices between basic necessities during a global pandemic,” said Governor Cooper. (Read more)

Governor Cooper Names Members of Andrea Harris Social, Economic, Environmental, and Health Equity Task Force

The Political Agitator’s response: Because I have traveled across the state and in the capacity of the NAACP, the Democratic Party and other organizations so I know lots of folk. I knew Andrea Harris and served on the NC State NAACP Conference of Branches Executive Committee in the early 2000’s. She was such a smart and carrying person. She continues to live.

Raleigh

Today, Governor Roy Cooper named the members of the Andrea Harris Social, Economic, Environmental, and Health Equity Task Force. The Task Force, established by the Governor’s Executive Order 143, will address the social, environmental, economic, and health disparities in communities of color that have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The first meeting is anticipated in early August.

“Inequities in North Carolina are not new, but COVID-19 is shining a bright light on disparities that have gone unchecked in our health care and economic institutions for communities of color,” said Governor Roy Cooper. “This task force is the right way to address these inequities as we recover from the pandemic so that as we come back from this, we improve access to affordable healthcare and quality economic opportunities.”

“Health inequities are the result of more than individual choice or random occurrence — they are the result of the historic and ongoing interplay of inequitable structures, policies, and norms that shape lives,” said NC Department of Administration Secretary Machelle Sanders. “I am deeply honored to carry Andrea Harris’ torch on this new task force, as we grapple with these complex and critical issues for North Carolina.”

Randy Adcox This Is Some B.S. Disrespect For Authority Governor Roy Cooper & Folk In General When It Comes To Wearing A Mask

The Political Agitator’s response: This is sad a grown ass Caucasian man with too damn much time on his hand to do nothing but ride from one restaurant to another testing the waters because he has an issue with the Democratic Governor Roy Cooper mandate to wear mask. Damn Randy just go out and do you don’t wear a mask, your ass won’t get served. Obviously you didn’t want to eat in because you could have ordered your food and went to the table and took your damn mask off. You are just an Ignant Bonifide Special C.

4 hrs ·

So Daniel and I headed out to grab a bite for breakfast this morning as we do just about every morning. Forgot all about Governor Cooper’s mandate to wear a mask out in public and pulled up in front of our local Bojangle’s for a biscuit. Upon entering the restaurant however, we were immediately informed we could not be served if not wearing a mask. Ok. No problem. See ya later!
Drove down the road a ways and walked into a Hardee’s. First thing I noticed was there were about a dozen people sitting around the dining room, and NO one was wearing a mask! Ok, looks like this is our breakfast spot today! Walking up to the counter however, we were informed we could not be served if we weren’t wearing a mask. I pulled my tee shirt up over my nose and mouth and jokingly asked, “How ’bout now. Will you serve me now?”. Cashier behind the counter smiled, as she shook her head “no” and then replied, “If you don’t have a mask, you have to go through the drive through in order to be served”.
Ok, so now this is getting ridiculous! If I walk in *wearing* a mask, I can get served, go sit down, and then REMOVE the mask and enjoy my meal. And if I should happen to be an asymptomatic carrier of Covid-19 and I accidentally SNEEZE while eating my breakfast, and potentially infect everyone in a 12 foot radius, that’s “ok”, because I was wearing my mask when I was served, right? Disgusted, I turned to leave the restaurant but as I was walking out I turned around to look at the other patrons who were seated at the tables enjoying their breakfast. One or two had a mask either pulled down under their chin, or hanging off one ear like some sort of clothing accessory, but most had literally REMOVED their mask as they ate their breakfast. So tell me, what good does it do to require a mask to be worn while *ordering* your meal and then allow patrons to REMOVE their mask to eat?? People cough and sneeze at lots of things…pollen, too much pepper, allergies….And obviously they can’t eat with a mask covering their mouth, so they HAVE to at least uncover their mouth to eat. Not wanting to cause a scene, I decided to just leave. Still hungry, but just not willing to argue with an employee who was just doing her job, I motioned for Daniel to “let’s go”, and we walked out.
Refusing to go through the drive through THERE, I intentionally went to another restaurant (McDonald’s this time) and yes, I drove through the drive though lane and after receiving our food, Daniel and I sat in my truck to eat our breakfast.
I know some of you are thinking, “Why can’t you just wear a dang mask??”. Well, here’s the deal. Number one, I’ve seen compelling evidence that wearing a mask offers little if any protection for me OR anyone else. Number two, how long are we supposed to play this silly game? Yes, covid-19 is real. Yes, people have died with it and more will die in the future. But that’s precisely my point! Wearing a mask will not make covid-19 go away! It’s here now, and unless or until a vaccine is found (and even THEN, not everyone will be able to take it!), it will likely be here for generations! Are we supposed to keep wearing masks for the rest of our lives? Is this going to become the new “norm”? People we’re being manipulated by politicians and pseudo scientists, who haven’t a CLUE as to how much longer there’s going to be a threat of someone catching this disease, and we’re literally destroying our economy with these ridiculous new rules and regulations. Small businesses are failing in droves because they can’t open, and those that CAN open are having their business severely hampered by these strangling restrictions.
Daniel and I eat out a LOT. The nature of our work makes it difficult for us to have a designated meal time, so we’re frequently forced to grab a bite whenever we find a “break” in the workload. And frankly, we both like to go inside a restaurant, order our food, and then sit there and enjoy it in relative peace and tranquility. And after sitting in my truck eating for the last three months, it’s been nice to go back inside the restaurants we frequent, and sit down at a real table for a meal. But now, Governor Cooper says if we don’t wear a mask, those same restaurants can’t serve us *inside* any longer, which means we’re forced to go back to eating in my truck. So you know what? It’s back to eating inside the truck. At least until some semblance of sanity returns to the world!
Oh and for you who feel obligated to wear a mask everywhere you go from now on, you might want to start a journal so you can one day look back and tell your grandkids what it was like when we still had FREEDOMS in this country.

In 2 a.m. vote, NC lawmakers target coronavirus measure on wearing masks in public

imageN.C. Governor announces executive orders requiring the wearing of protective COVID face coverings and extends his phase 2 order Wednesday, June 24, 2020. BY WUNC-TV

RALEIGH

A 2 a.m. vote Friday in the North Carolina Senate has some politicians questioning if it’s going to be illegal for people to wear face masks in public, starting in a little more than a month.

“We purposefully took out a provision that would have made it legal, and that just seems wrong to me in the middle of a pandemic,” Democratic Sen. Natasha Marcus of Mecklenburg County said.

The early-morning vote in the Senate came on the same day that Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper’s statewide order making mask-wearing mandatory in public was set to go into effect. Republican Senate leader Phil Berger has strongly criticized that order, which will begin at 5 p.m. Friday. (Read more)

Sheriff Wes Tripp This Is White Privilege & Disrespect For Authority

The Political Agitator’s response: This is White Privilege and disrespect for authority. Wearing masks is what appears to be keeping the spread of the Coronavirus down. This is not a personal decision when one goes out in the public this is a directive by the Governor. It is a shame that this is made political by some folk especially Republicans.

I certainly encourage people to be careful and take safety precautions, however your Sheriff’s Office will not be taking enforcement actions against people or businesses for not wearing masks.

The wearing of a mask is a personal decision, not one of a governor in Raleigh.

Gov. Roy Cooper announces statewide mask requirement, delays Phase 3 of reopening for at least 3 weeks

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) — Gov. Roy Cooper on Wednesday issued a mandatory mask requirement across North Carolina and ordered a “pause” on easing any other restrictions as infections rates and the number of hospitalizations continue to climb.

The mask mandate will go into effect Friday at 5 p.m.

The two actions announced at an afternoon news conference could further inflame rising tensions between the governor and the Republican-led General Assembly, and several business owners in the fitness and entertainment industries.

Cooper, however, reiterated his vow to follow the science and trends and expressed hope that mandating all North Carolinians to wear a face covering could “stabilize” the spread of the coronavirus and enable the state to move into the next phase of reopening. (Read more)

Everyone get prepared for Roy Cooper’s jaw dropping news if it comes to fruition – another Stay at Home order.
The word is, Cooper is going to shutdown the entire state since the numbers are so high and continue to increase regarding COVID-19.
But what he needs to look at is the regional aspect of the virus. There are not a whole lot of cases East of I95, the majority of the new cases are west of I95.

I will just lay it all on the line for you all….And you can disagree or agree, I don’t care, but here are the facts as I have investigated and done my research….

THESE ARE ALL FACTS:

I will just lay it all on the line for you all….And you can disagree or agree, I don’t care, but here are the facts as I have investigated and done my research….

THESE ARE ALL FACTS:

North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released a report that estimated that almost 37,000 North Carolinians have recovered from COVID-19. This good news means that NC is down to ONLY 15,461 active cases. As the world learns to live with the virus, it’s essential to understand most people who get COVID-19 recover.

There’s also good news coming from hospitals. As of June 22, North Carolina has 870 people hospitalized because of COVID-19 and 4,120 empty hospital beds, 468 ICU beds, and over 2,000 available ventilators.

Our hospitals have done such a great job, that North Carolina could currently handle 4 times the amount of COVID-19 patients without activating the surge capacity.

In addition to the state statistics on recoveries and hospital capacity, a new report from Wake Forest Baptist Health which highlights that potentially over 1 million North Carolinians may have already been exposed to COVID 19.

Cooper’s continued insistence on keeping NC locked down despite the low number of active cases, ample hospital capacity, and an increasing number of people with antibody tests is genuinely confusing.

While the increasing number of positive tests remains a concern, it is critical to keep these numbers in context. It is also critical for Cooper to stop blocking the full release of COVID-19 data.

Congressman Dr. Greg Murphy confirmed that while the White House Coronavirus Task Force was deeply concerned about North Carolina’s COVID-19 numbers, according to Task Force officials, it’s clear that the initial reopening of our economy had nothing to do with our current increase in COVID-19 cases.

Instead, NC made a systematic flaw in responding to COVID-19. Perhaps this explains why Cooper refuses to comply with North Carolina Public Record Laws and release all the COVID-19 data to the public.

Everyone get ready for the second round of Phase 1 – Stay At Home but you can sit on your roof order.

This is the first time since COVID-19 hit North Carolina that Roy Cooper has not spoken at a press briefing on a Monday or Tuesday.

Think long and hard about it now……..

I am telling you all, the NC COVID-19 task force is just waiting to make an announcement tomorrow or Thursday that the so-called governor is going to revert back to Phase 1.

I want you all to know this as well, WE ARE 1 OF 5 STATES THAT HAVE NOT REOPENED YET….

And guess what, those 5 states that haven’t reopened, all have Democratic governors.

Makes you think for a minute or two doesn’t it?

North Carolina’s governor has absolutely lost his mind….how can he say during his briefing they are thinking about making people wear masks.
I guess the governor wants people to wear masks while they eat as well. But he didn’t wear one while he was protesting/marching in Raleigh and doesn’t wear one while having his briefings on live TV.
Roy Cooper knows he is on his way out of office because he will be defeated in November by Dan Forest so Cooper wants to have all the control and power he can now.
Hell he couldn’t even help rebuild NC after Hurricane Matthew or Florence. How can he make decisions to make people wear masks during COVID-19.
