Black Lives Matter

Talking about Black Lives Matter when some of us acting like a bunch of damn Black Fools!

Some of us walk around here like we sitting on top of the world and don’t even speak to family and friends.

You going to Hell!

I may go too but it will not be because I didn’t try to treat folk right even when they wanted to treat me some kind of way.

Why a high school that’s just 5% black is raising the Black Lives Matter flag

(CNN)There are 350 students at Montpelier High School in Montpelier, Vermont. Only 18 of them are black. But it’s because of — and not in spite of — that fact that the school has raised the Black Lives Matter flag.

“We are committed to improvement and this dialogue and to work for equity and racial justice in our school system,” Principal Mike McRaith, who is white, said at Thursday’s flag-raising ceremony, as reported by CNN affiliate WPTZ. “We can and we must improve our educational system to be more culturally competent and ever more inclusive to the historically marginalized and oppressed.” (Read more)

What Ever Happened to all the Old Racist Whites from those Civil Rights Photos?

A few months ago from this day of publishing, I had an interesting discussion with a white guy at work.  The subject of riots came up.  Pretty much, he attempted to place a mass association of “riots” to Black Lives Matter protesters.  Fascinated with his thoughts (which severely lacked critical thinking), I threw him a critical thinking question:

What Happen To #BlueLivesMatter? 8 Cops Killed This Week by White Men, No Outrage!

The Watch Dog response: If they had been killed by black males then it would be all over the news. This reminds me on when they want to talk about black on black crime. However we have been talking about black on black crime since the early 90’s so it ain’t just about white cops killing black men, but it is an issue.

Why Black lives matter by Ben & Jerry’s

The Watch Dog’s response: Let’s support those whom speak up and support the trues!
Black lives matter.

They matter because they are children, brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers.

They matter because the injustices they face steal from all of us — white people and people of color alike. They steal our very humanity.

Systemic and institutionalized racism are the defining civil rights and social justice issues of our time. We’ve come to understand that to be silent about the violence and threats to the lives and well-being of Black people is to be complicit in that violence and those threats.

We ask you to join us in not being complicit.

There is good news: (Ben & Jerry’s)
