Raleigh NC – ‘Keep this area upscale’ warns letter to interracial Raleigh family

imageClick On Photo To Watch Video
Residents of a north Raleigh neighborhood expressed outrage Monday after learning that a family received an unsigned letter last week warning them against posting any Black Lives Matter signs in their yard.

“[P]lease remember that the rest of us live in an upscale neighborhood and have spent the extra money to stay out of mixed neighborhoods and/or the ghetto,” the letter states. “No one wants trouble or any circumstance arising which could turn our neighborhood into a ‘semi-ghetto.'”

“I couldn’t believe that someone in my neighborhood – that close to me – would have written something so mean,” said Marianna Morin, a neighbor of an interracial couple in the Wakefield Plantation community.

“I was horrified, appalled, disappointed, sad,” said Kate Pirrung, another neighbor and friend of the family that received the letter. (Read more)

Black On Black Crime & Police Killing Black Folk

I am a Black man and I have not killed anyone so I don’t fit in that category of a Black man killing a Black person.

Anyone who have a problem with Black folk killing Black folk, then go talk to them or their family. I am not trying to do anything to get killed by another Black person nor a Police.

Some folk especially Black folk don’t say anything when it ain’t their family but as soon as it is their family or happens in their community they speak up but ignored it before then.

If anyone want to say All Lives Matter then start your own Protest and whatever but nope you want me to do it for you because I am about Black Lives Matter. If you have a problem with Black on Black Crime then do something but going after those who are taking a stand with the Black Lives Matter Movement is not the answer.

I have been in the struggle for years and had some Black Lives Matter shirts made years ago in Raleigh while attending the HKONJ (Historical Thousands On Jones Street) March where I The DCN News Blog Online TV has been a partner for years. I also had some more shirts made around 3 years ago so when the BLM began recently I didn’t have to go out and buy shirts because I have shirts and hoodies. I gave away a bunch of shirts even a couple of hoodies to folk so today they have been blessed because they had a gift from me. When folk asked me about the shirts and hoodies I got them one and the young folk I gave it to them after I asked them were they going to wear them and if they were I would give it to them. I didn’t even know many of them.

Black Lives Matter includes Black on Black Crime and Police brutality/murder.

I have been there done that been in Black on Black Crime meetings, Police brutality/murder meetings and other over the years. But folk need to understand that I get to choose what movement I want to support.

I have not participated in any of the local Black Lives Matter marches but I support these young folk and glad to see them taking a stand making demands.

Now CD2 That!

All Police Ain’t Bad Just Like All Black Folk Ain’t Either

The same damn folk who attempt to make the narrative that the Black Lives Movement is all about all Police being bad. Hell no! But them same folk act as if all Black Folk are bad!

I support Police but I be damn if I support Police who break the law. I support Black folk one because I am a Black Man that work and try to be a law abiding citizen daily. I do not support Black folk who does criminal stuff but I will support them owning up to their stuff and willing to accept the consequences.

So for all of you folk who want to twist the narrative about Police Brutality/Murder, Black on Black Crime, Confederate History and other, I will not entertain nothing but the truth. If you want to talk about it, let talk about the whole trues.

Now CD2 That!

Somebody Said We Need To Build Our Own Nation & I Say!

Well I think we have a nation that was built on the backs of Slaves so why not just take the one already built?

Did not the WORD say the first shall be last and the last shall be 1st? I think I have heard and read that.

COVID-19, Graduations, Black Lives Matter, Edgecombe County Democratic Party Chair Removed, Confederate Monuments, Honeywell Furlough Year 2020

I have faced and seen some things this year and it is only 6 months in.

I have survived the COVID-19 as I speak even though I have been working he entire time. I was considered an Essential Worker so I didn’t get the week off from work without pay like some of my co-workers. They were supposed to get 2 weeks but they didn’t have to do a 2nd week. However they did get unemployment and the COVID-19 Funds.

I am proud of my son Curmilus Dancy III (CJ) who graduated from Pitt Community College Greenville NC receiving a degree in Business Administration and my daughter India Matita Dancy who received her Masters in Political Science from NC Central in Durham NC.

The Black Lives Matter Movement has reached across the nation. It began some years ago but not at the level it has reached now. Although I am not a member of the actual Black Lives Matter Organization, I have always known my Black Ass Mattered and have been fighting for Black Folk All of my Adult Life.

The Edgecombe County Democratic Party can now move forward hopefully because one of the problems the party has experienced has been Rev. Roosevelt Higgs and his behavior. I have been challenging this guy since the 90’s. On June 13 he was removed as the Chair of the County and can not serve as an officer on the local, state and/or national level in the next 2 years. Peace be still!

I am happy to see the Confederate Monument come down in Rocky Mount. I served on the Rocky Mount Human Relations Commission and we were tasked by the Rocky Mount City Council to host a series of 4 meetings to have community discussions last year. However the monument came down in this season. But not only am I pleased to see it come down in Rocky Mount but across the nation. Tarboro NC what are you waiting on? I have a Tarboro address although I live 7 miles out of Tarboro and 3 miles out of Pinetops.

This week I survived the Honeywell Furlough. I have been working at Honeywell for 33 years and nearly 6 months. I have endured some things and by the grace of God he has kept me. It has been tough some times but because of my knowledge of how to deal with issues and situations, I have survived.

I am going to miss some of my co-workers. But no matter what I wish all of them the best.

Tarboro NC – I Was Added To A Group That Is Going After The Organizers Of The Sympathy Walk

I was added to a group that is going after the organizers of the sympathy walk that was held recently as different areas were protesting and rallying because of Black Lives Matter but I left the group.

I didn’t agree with how the group carried it out and it appeared that Jesse Webb Tarboro Police Chief had organized it. If the folk who were a part of the walk liked it, I loved it.

I voiced my opinion about the walk and I believe one of the organizers Unfriended me and if they did it because they got offended with what I said then that is a they problem. My comments were focused on the chief comments during the march and those that have continued afterwards.

Tarboro is sitting on a time bomb as it relates to the Confederate Monument on the Commons because the conversation is being avoided publicly. There are some conversations going on but folk ain’t talking to the right folk. This is doing nothing but causing division among Black Folk while the Caucasian community is just sitting and waiting to see how this thing going to unfold.

My question is why do Tarboro feel it is exempt from the Confederate Monument issue that is going on across the nation because something is going to be done. There are some folk that are going to make sure the monument is on the table of discussion.

I challenge the folk of Tarboro to stop going at it in that group talking about the Sympathy Walk. The walk is done and over so now the discussion need to be geared toward talking about the issues that are going on across the nation and especially in the local areas. Rocky Mount, Greenville, Wilson and other surrounding areas are and have been dealing with the monument issue and other so you better get onboard.

In my closing I have seen where a certain person is going after a female and what I do not condone is to be a part of a group and allow a male to go after a female. So if any males are in the group and they are not telling the male that he need to leave the female alone then something is wrong.

Now if anyone don’t understand the significance of the Confederacy after looking at the following video and do not have a change of heart then something is wrong. The Truth About The Confederacy In The United States “Who Controls The Past Control The Future, Who Controls The Future Control The Past!”

Do You Know What It Is Like To Be A Black Man?

The Political Agitator’s response: Being a Black man can be a dangerous thing. The Black man can be one of the most hated experiences one could ever endure. Because the Black man has been seen as strong, caring, hard working, a sex object and more that makes him a target. It is sad that some folk want the Black man to live a lie and not who they really are. Unfortunately some Black men fall into the category other folk have set up for them but the majority of Black men are a threat to some folk. But why? We are who we are and just want to live a life of happiness just like other folk.

To my white friends. If you think you know what it’s like to be black in this world, I challenge you to read the profound and transformational post below. I am so grateful I did.

This is from Caroline Crockett Brock’s facebook page:

I am a 45 year old white woman living in the south, and today was the first time I spoke frankly about racism with a black man.

When Ernest, my appliance repairman, came to the front door, I welcomed him in. As this was his second visit and we’d established a friendly rapport, I asked him how he was feeling in the current national climate.

Naturally, he assumed I was talking about the coronavirus, because what white person actually addresses racism head on, in person, in their own home? When Ernest realized I wanted to know about his experience with racism, he began answering my questions.

What’s it like for you on a day-to-day basis as a black man? Do cops ever give you any trouble?

The answers were illuminating.

Ernest, a middle-aged, friendly, successful business owner, gets pulled over in Myrtle Beach at least 6 times a year. He doesn’t get pulled over for traffic violations, but on the suspicion of him being a suspect in one crime or another.

Mind you, he is in uniform, driving in a work van clearly marked with his business on the side. They ask him about the boxes in his car–parts and pieces of appliances. They ask to see his invoices and ask him why there is money and checks in his invoice clipboard. They ask if he’s selling drugs. These cops get angry if he asks for a badge number or pushes back in any way. Every time he is the one who has to explain himself, although they have no real cause to question him.

Ernest used to help folks out after dark with emergencies. Not anymore. He does not work past dinnertime, not because he doesn’t need the business, but because it isn’t safe for him to be out after dark. He says “There’s nothing out there in the world for me past dark”.

Let me say that again. Ernest, a middle aged black man in uniform cannot work past dark in Myrtle Beach in 2020 because it’s not safe for him. He did not say this with any kind of agenda. It was a quiet, matter of fact truth.

A truth that needs to be heard.

When I asked Ernest what ethnic terms he gets offended at, he said that the most offensive term people use is ‘boy’.

Ernest has a bachelors in electronics and an associates in HVAC. He is not a ‘boy’, and the term ‘boy’ in the south implies inferiority in station and status. He came to Myrtle Beach and got a job at Hobart. The supervisor repeatedly used the term ‘boy’. Ernest complained. After several complaints Ernest was fired.

Ernest says most white people are a little scared of him, and he’s often put in a position where he has to prove himself, as though he’s not qualified to repair appliances.

After getting a job for 2 years at Sears appliance, Ernest started his own company, one he’s been running for several years. He is the best repairman we’ve had, and has taught me about washer dryers and how to maintain them myself, even helping me with another washer/dryer set and a dishwasher without charging me. I highly recommend his company, Grand Strand Appliance.

Ernest doesn’t have hope that racism will change, no matter who the president is. His dad taught him “It’s a white man’s world”, and he’s done his best to live within it.

When I asked him what I could do, he said, “everyone needs to pray and realize we’re all just one country and one people”.

I am a 45 year old white woman living in the south. I can begin healing our country by talking frankly with African Americans in my world—by LISTENING to their lived experience and speaking up. I can help by actively promoting black owned businesses. That’s what I can do today.

Let’s start by listening and lifting up. It’s that simple.
#listenandlift

=====

Edit: I asked Ernest if I could take his picture and post our conversation on facebook. He thought it was a great idea. As he left my house an hour later, he looked me in the eye and said, “If you ever march, or have a meeting on this topic, or want to change things in Myrtle Beach, I’ll stand with you.”
What a great idea. Let’s begin standing together.
===

Edit: 1pm EST on 6/1. Ernest just called me and we had one of the sweetest moments, both laughing and crying about the response to this post. He started the conversation by saying, “Caroline, I don’t know if I should kill you or kiss you–my phone is ringing off the hook!”

He doesn’t have a FB profile, so he’s coming over later so I can help him set one up. He’s been absolutely overwhelmed, as have I, with the response. We’re going to be sitting down together to read your comments. They mean so much. In addition, the Myrtle Beach city manager has contacted me and I’m getting all of us together to be sure this doesn’t happen in our city any longer. THANK YOU WORLD.

Edit 6/2 9am. Just got off the phone with Ernest and the local news. They will be interviewing us today, and it will be on the local news in Myrtle beach tonight. I’ll post it on my page later.

This is how we change our country. Normal folks. One town at a time. ❤️

Speedway owner loses staff, ‘all but 2’ sponsors after post

PINE HALL (AP) — The owner of a North Carolina racetrack said he has faced death threats, lost employees and seen “all but two” of his sponsors evaporate amid the backlash over his social media post invoking the noose found in the garage stall of Black NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace

Mike Fulp, who owns the half-mile, dirt track 311 Speedway in Stokes County, told the News & Record he knew his troubles from what he described as a joke were self-inflicted. Fulp’s post advertised “Bubba Rope” for sale on Facebook Marketplace the day after an FBI investigation determined the noose found at the Talladega Superspeedway garage had been there since at least October and was a coincidence, not a hate crime.

“I’ve lost all but two of my sponsors,” Fulp told the newspaper. “I’m responsible. I’m responsible for trying to make some jokes.”

Fulp said he’s been getting death threats and received messages threatening his family.

“My employees got harassed,” he said. “I had seven employees quit.” (Read more)

Morris Wilder Says Withhold Your Utility Payments

The Political Agitator’s response: My question is how in the hell do you only want a city council person to respond to the write offs how about the other folk who got millions of dollars written off and Caucasian folk been doing write offs and other for years along with other special stuff. But when Black folk start reaping the benefits it is a problem. Write offs are not illegal so go somewhere and sit down and shut the hell up. Folk don’t listen to this dude because your ass gonna be in the damn DARK!

Withhold your utility payments

I just received my utility bill in the mail as usual.

However, I decided that instead of paying the bill as I normally do, I would send a letter to the city and the mayor stating that I would be withholding my payment, and all future payments, until the City Council takes the appropriate actions to fully answer all the allegations presented in the report by the state auditor, Ms. Beth Wood.

I am urging that all the citizens of the city to take this same approach. If our words are not getting actions, maybe withholding our money will.

Morris Wilder

State Investment in Water Rescue Equipment Pays off for Rocky Mount

ROCKY MOUNT: As floodwaters rose this week along the Tar River to levels not seen since Hurricanes Matthew and Florence, water rescue teams from the Rocky Mount Fire Department put some new state-provided equipment into action, rescuing people stranded in their homes and vehicles.

“We are grateful for our first responders who rescued people during these floods and brought them to safety,” said Governor Cooper. “Having the right equipment to do the job saves lives.”

More than $2 million in search and rescue funding was included in Governor Cooper’s 2019 budget and appropriated by the legislature. Last July, North Carolina Emergency Management distributed $1.4 million in new gear to water rescue teams across the state, including boats, motors, fuel tanks, life jackets, dry suits, paddles and maintenance supplies.

The Rocky Mount Fire Department received two inflatable swift water rescue boats and motors valued at approximately $55,000. Rocky Mount Fire was one of 26 agencies that received new equipment last summer.

“This investment in our local water rescue teams makes us stronger and more prepared as a state,” said Emergency Management Director Mike Sprayberry. “The Rocky Mount Fire Department was able to respond and assist its residents this week, and those of surrounding communities, without needing to wait for help from elsewhere.”

“The resources provided to our swiftwater team by the state of North Carolina have proven to be especially valuable over the past three days and have played a key role in the success of our team assisting our citizens,” said RMFD Battalion Chief of Operations and Swiftwater Emergency Rescue Team member Charles Bunn, III. “We are grateful for these resources that have allowed us to fulfill our mission of serving the City of Rocky Mount by protecting lives and property through quality and excellence in service.”

Using a combination of boats and high-clearance trucks, Rocky Mount firefighters were able to assist 92 people and four pets in evacuating 75 flooded homes. About 20 commercial buildings in town were also affected by floodwaters. The American Red Cross is assisting some of the flooded-out residents with temporary shelter.

Kidney failure patients are particularly vulnerable to viruses and infections, and the COVID-19 pandemic is significantly impacting their lives. As I shared with you in April, we are providing our members with critical information they need to safely navigate through the pandemic since kidney patients must continue to dialyze as a matter of life and death.

    · The DPC Education Center website at https://www.dpcedcenter.org/ is dedicated to improving kidney patients’ quality of life and reducing the impact of ESRD through education and awareness of dialysis and kidney disease issues. While the website can be translated into multiple languages via Google Translation, we also offer a dedicated Spanish section (https://www.dpcedcenter.org/resources/spanish/) for those who prefer to read content in Spanish.

    · The Kidney Citizen magazine provides timely information on a variety of topics. Distribution is via mail and electronically at https://www.dpcedcenter.org/news-events/the-kidney-citizen/ If you’d like to be added to the distribution list of this free publication, please reply to this email with your preferred mailing address.

As North Carolina focuses on the needs of vulnerable populations in light of COVID-19. Kidney failure is on the rise and disproportionately impacts communities of color that already experience many health disparities. Please keep ESRD patients in mind. They depend on state resources such as Medicaid, transportation services, chronic renal disease programs, access to Medigap coverage and increased access to living organ donation.

Trump Tweets Video With ‘White Power’ Chant, Then Deletes It

    image

The Political Agitator’s response: What is in you will come out and Trump has done a damn good job showing what is in him.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump on Sunday tweeted approvingly of a video showing one of his supporters chanting “white power,” a racist slogan associated with white supremacists. He later deleted the tweet and the White House said the president had not heard “the one statement” on the video.

The video appeared to have been taken at The Villages, a Florida retirement community, and showed dueling demonstrations between Trump supporters and opponents.

“Thank you to the great people of The Villages,” Trump tweeted. Moments into the video clip he shared, a man driving a golf cart displaying pro-Trump signs and flags shouts ’white power.” The video also shows anti-Trump protesters shouting “Nazi,” “racist,” and profanities at the Trump backers.

“There’s no question″ that Trump should not have retweeted the video and “he should just take it down,” Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., told CNN’s “State of the Union.” Scott is the only Black Republican in the Senate.

“I think it’s indefensible,” he added. (Read more)

Glenn Polland The Real Problem Is You Don’t Get To Pick & Choose What Black Folk Choose To Do

The Political Agitator’s response: Glenn Polland first of all I am a 57 year old grown ass Black Man so you don’t get to tell me what I choose to make my priority. You go march for Chris Beatty and report back. You march about the the riots in Chicago. I don’t give a damn if George Floyd was a felon so you say, it didn’t give them Special Cs the right to kill him. You say All Lives Matter. Well my Black Life Matter and I will march for my ass and since you say All Lives Matter then march for your ass. Get that! Who in the hell said all Police were bad? Damn you say you have more Black friends than White. Well I question their definition of a friend because I be damn if I am friends with folk who have the mentality you are displaying here. I will speak to your ass but to call you a friend, oh hell to the no! If you say there are more Whites killed by Cops then why in the hell don’t you and others march about it? Black folk will march about the killing of Black folk so y’all can do the same. Oh but what you want us to march on your behalf? I do agree with you that I am not an African American I am a Proud Black Ass Man! But the issue with the African American ain’t it on some applications? Hell but we ain’t even going there about the damn many names Black folk have been called. And lastly you damn sure can’t speak for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. so you can end that B.S. right there with your Phd. Hell I am a Dr. too! LMBAO! Now Run & Tell That!

Glenn Poland Seems like a big turn out, are they going to March for Chris Beatty a former football player who was shot to death trying to save the lives of 2 young girls, he was black, and what about the 3 year old baby and 4 teens gunned down last weekend by thugs in the riots in Chicago, are they marching on their behalf. But they are marching for a man killed by white cops who was a felon and shouldn’t have been in society to start off with. Seems to me someone needs to get their priorities straight

Glenn Poland William Manley I understand but I have my opinion on doing something for innocent Black Americans slain in the streets their lives matter too, but it seems that the BLM movement is marching on the agenda predicated by white liberals and the agenda that they set forth.

Glenn Poland I am educated, a lot more than u it appears I’m saying all lives matter y r they focused on one when many more are killed every day but I guess to all of u it’s ok as long as it’s not by cops. U do ur research mam, and find more white men are killed by cops every year but u don’t hear anything about it. U r protesting but other than a walk what the hell are u doing to change things. I’m going to say this and let it go, all lives matter and the only race that matters is the Human Race which has no color. U can spin it ever how u want but all police are not bad. That’s like a conversation I had with a young black girl because her and her boyfriend werr told to leave a restaurant if he didn’t pull his pants up, she said that’s racist because it’s a black thing, I said no it’s a thug thing because I have more black friends than white and none of them dress that way. I said u r stereotyping your own race. Point is there is good and bad in every person not to be put on others in that race or profession

Nene Shaquarra Glenn Poland I never said it was okay, I SAID THE PRESENT ISSUE AT HAND…. and statistically yes you’re right there are more whites people killed by cops HOWEVER statistically African Americans make up roughly 13 percent of the population and are 2.8 times more likely to be killed by police, 14.8 percent more likely to be killed WHILE UNARMED (https://dx.doi.org/10.1016%2Fj.amepre.2016.08.027 ) That is the problem. I also said that while those other things are important and should be addressed they were your way of DEFLECTING from the issue of that current protest. Also, how did you go from what about xyz to what is protesting going to do. I’m not one that believes in nonviolent protesting so ‍♀️. Dr. King was nonviolent and preaching non-violence and he was killed.
ALSO, all lives can’t matter until black lives do (also another attempt to minimize), FELON or not that man’s life mattered. There are white people right here in NC that pull guns on cops but make it to trial. Cops are paid to do a job not be judge, jury and executioner on sight and when you kill a unarmed man by kneeling on his neck to the point that he stops breathing that’s exactly what he did.
I never said all cops were bad, that is your ASSUMPTION. ALSO, I don’t care what your conversation with someone was about their pants it doesn’t negate the issue.
If you would like a list of books to read or documentaries to watch I’m sure I’ve learned enough on my journey to a PhD in Psychology to share. Have a wonderful day.

Glenn Poland No such thing as African American, u can’t be born in both countries, if u were born here u r an American period. All I’m saying is if they focus on just that, and they are, how can u say black lives matter because u r not fighting for all black men and women. The issue is it all needs to stop, but these protesters are way out of hand and causing more harm than good. Martin Luther King Jr is rolling over in the tomb right now with all of this

The Political Agitator’s response: So this guy calls a Black female a Bitch but he has done so much for Black folk and he has Black friends. If he has Black friends that allow him to call a Black female a Bitch then not only do I have a problem with this Special C but I have a problem with those Black folk who says are his friend. Damn I am curious too to see how many Black friends stand up with you too. It is obvious you have a problem with Black folk who do not think like you and that is dangerous. You could not tutor my children and damn sure can’t be my friend.
