“They have no allegiance to liberal democracy”: an expert on antifa explains the group – Vox

The Watch Dog response: Have to follow what is going on because eventually the trues will come out. You see “they” been saying all the time that the antifa group is connected to the Democratic Party. But the sad part is some folk believe everything they hear instead of waiting to get information as it is presented. When you error that is okay but then acknowledge the trues when you learn them. It is okay to error but it ain’t okay to not make necessary corrections. Keep on believing everything “they” say those that have a different agenda other than the Democratic Platform. Now don’t get it twisted just because some folk are Democrats those who do not operate per the Democratic Platform they have to be dealt with also.

Then Donald Trump used the phrase “alt-left” to describe the anti-neo-Nazi protesters in Charlottesville last week, most people had no idea what he meant. I’m actually not sure he knew what he meant.

“What about the alt-left that came charging at the, as you say, the ‘alt-right’? Do they have any assemblage of guilt?” Trump said during a rambling press conference.

If the alt-left exists, it’s probably best represented by “antifa” (short for “anti-fascist”) — a loose network of left-wing activists who physically resist people they consider fascists. These are often the scruffy, bandana-clad people who show up at alt-right rallies or speaking events in order to shut them down before they happen, and they openly embrace violence as a justifiable means to that end.

Antifa is not a monolithic organization, nor does it have anything like a hierarchical leadership structure. It’s an . . .  (Vox)

Black Folk Have Been Saving White Folk All Of My 54 Years And Long Before

But this is not anything new, black folk have been saving white folk all of my 54 years and long before. Black folk raised their children, cooked for them, did their laundry and more so let’s not forget.

But yes the photo speaks volume but let’s not make it appear the love we have for all folk didn’t just begin now.

COLIN KAEPERNICK IS RIGHTER THAN YOU KNOW: THE NATIONAL ANTHEM IS A CELEBRATION OF SLAVERY – THE INTERCEPT

The Watch Dog response: I have been asking this question all day and now I run across this old post on Facebook just now.

So tell me what this means right here when it mentions slave. You see when you learn the truths you ought to acknowledge and deal with it. But folk want to get mad with you when you learn the truths and speak out about it. And for the record challenging the star spangled banner has been going on for years and didn’t just start now for those who say why now? I say why not now.

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore, That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion A home and a Country should leave us no more? Their blood has wash’d out their foul footstep’s pollution. No refuge could save the hireling and slave From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave, And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

BEFORE A PRESEASON GAME on Friday, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick refused to stand for the playing of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” When he explained why, he only spoke about the present: “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. … There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”

Twitter then went predictably nuts, with at least one 49ers fan burning Kaepernick’s jersey.

Almost no one seems to be aware that even if the U.S. were a perfect country today, it would be bizarre to expect African-American players to stand for “The Star-Spangled Banner.” Why? Because it literally celebrates the murder of African-Americans. (The Intercept)

Heard It 1st – The Battle of Confederate Statues Congressman G.K. Butterfield NC 01

The Battle Over Confederate Statues

Click on the image above to watch the clip “Confederate statues in the US Capitol? Your Lawmakers Weigh In” as reported by WAVY-TV.

Last week, in Charlottesville, Virginia, a domestic terror attack was carried out by white supremacist groups.  Following the attack, protestors in Durham and across the country spoke out against the attack, the continued racial disparities in our communities, and President Donald Trump’s reluctance to take a firm stand against hateful ideologies.

There is no doubt that our country has a long and painful history with race, and the presence of confederate statues are part of this history.

The American people, including the president, must stand up and confront the scourge of racism, bigotry, and domestic terror in our country.  That is why I am calling for the immediate removal of all confederate statues and monuments that are displayed on government property, including the United States Capitol.  These monuments depict a history that must be taught to future generations, but not celebrated.

You can read my full statement following the domestic terror attack in Charlottesville and the demonstrations that followed in Durham here.

Can you guess where these Confederate monuments were built? – Washington Post

After a white supremacist-led rally to keep a statue of Robert E. Lee in Charlottesville spun into deadly violence on Aug. 12, municipalities around the country began taking a closer look at Confederate monuments in their own backyards. Most of the country’s 700 or so of these memorials are in the South, but some are in places you wouldn’t expect. Click the state where you think each of these monuments is located.

Where is this monument?

Even has a Confederate monument, despite gaining statehood 24 years after the Civil War ended. The granite fountain in a park was commissioned in 1916 as a tribute to fallen Confederate soldiers by a group of Southerners who had moved west. The fountain was renovated in 2008; on Aug. 16, the city commission ordered its removal in the wake of the violence in Charlottesville. (Washington Post)

House Negroes stand up! Herman Cain

What tickles me is how folk make it appear that folk can’t work on more than one thing at a time. To say that, “current waste of time and distractions about statues, and who owned slaves 200 years ago” tickles the hell out of me.” Waste of who time? Distractions from what?

Obviously in NC the Republican General Assembly must knew this day was coming because the made it a law that if someone wanted to remove statues they would have to go through the NCGA.

What tickles me is that the young generation is the one in the movement so therefore that tell me that the movement is going to continue to go downward instead the lead coming from the top the older adults.

The following is tickles me as well, “Maybe the Michigan Chronicle has not noticed that there are a lot of successful black people in prominent positions in America, because some of us have chosen to focus on performance and productive opportunities, rather than on the past.”

I know personally countless black people across the state of NC but not limited to who are in prominent positions in America that focus on performance and productive opportunities while also still fighting for equality and mess that works against black folk and poor white folk. If it was not for these folk we would be going backward because if they allowed the past to be forgotten, folk would not know what 45 and the other racist are talking about when they say they want to make America Great Again. And locally it is written on a statue that need to come down talking about preserving the southern ideas. Really?

All I ask is that when it comes to statues that folk tell the whole story and stop telling half-truths. When folk acknowledge the whole truths about the statue the purpose of why they were erected and etc., then folk who have made it be they black, white and other ought to be on the side of right.

Since I have been actively engaged in the struggle dating back to the late 80’s, I have worked on many things with folk that I say are focused on performance and productivity as it relates to race relations and more.

I am a proud Democrat and a proud Life Fully Paid Member of the NAACP. I don’t agree with all Democrats but I agree with the Democratic platform. I am so glad to know that black folk were of the Republican Party back then but history tell me the parties reversed and today folk act as if the Democratic Party created all of the mess we have today.

Funny how some folk can talk about the past when it is convenient for them but when other folk talk about the past oh it is such a bad thing.

House Negroes

They say it to me too, Dr. Ben Carson, because just like you, I refuse to embrace the backward thinking of today’s black identity politics.

Since the Michigan Chronicle, a historically black Detroit-based newspaper, thinks Dr. Ben Carson is a “house Negro”, then I must be one also. Because that’s one of the names you get called by other black people when you are a success at something, and you do not buy into “black group think”, or act and say what they want you to say.
