In Response To Lindell John Kay On WNCR TV Host Bronson Williams & Co-host Nehemiah Smith About His Articles In The Rocky Mount Telegram & Now Spring Hope Enterprise

I have not watched what you used to be “News You Can Use” that turned out for me “News You Can’t Use.” When I tried to talk to them about the format I ended up being a topic of discussion for an entire week and some. That part!

Today February 21, 2022 I had to look at the show after not looking at it since back around October 2021 and I was receiving so many responses about the show.

First of all Lindell Kay and myself have had some disagreements and will probably continue to. However we have a good relationship that we can agree to disagree. When I read his article in the paper, I texted him and said but I heard the building didn’t collapse. He said what happened. I said no comment. That was the end of that.

Lindell is right on point because I agree he has exposed social media pages like Rocky Mount Concerned Citizens for who they really are. He said when he does a story on Rocky Mount Councilman Andre Knight these pages especially Rocky Mount Concerned Citizens is all about him but when he does a story on the Mayor, they don’t talk about that part. Oh but them pages ain’t racist though.

I agree with Lindell Kay if they are so concerned why they have not been concerned about what is good for all of Rocky Mount and talking about White folk. He said he was a part of the group when it first started to see what they were saying but he has long left the group. He said all he sees is them attacking folk. I say Black folk.

Lindell Kay says it is a lot of racist content on Rocky Mount Concerned Citizens.

Lindell Kay exposed the Rocky Mount Telegram about them making an agreement about not putting crime on the front the page before he arrived. He talked about Jeff Herrin former deceased editor being beholden to the powers to be.

Lindell Kay learned that those white folk who were complimenting him on what he was writing about, they didn’t care about him, they only cared about him writing about certain people and we all know that was Black people.

Lindell Kay talked about how no mention on Rocky Mount Concerned Citizens about Tarrick Pittman’s rent issues and the Mayor appointed him to the Housing Authority.

Damn Tarrick being a great person to serve on the Housing Authority? Really! How in the hell do you support a person who does not want to pay rent on buildings to house his business and then blame it on the building being the problem because he says it is not in renting condition. Well why in the hell didn’t Tarrick move out instead of staying there until he gets an eviction notice? That part!

Lindell talked about the different stories he has written about as it related to White folk such as David Combs Rocky Mount former Mayor crooked deals with his real estate business, Robbie Davis Nash Chair County Commissioner business with the shabby roof on a school I believe Southern Nash and others.

I would love to see some more conversation about putting crime on the front page of the paper versus on page 3.

Lindell Kay said he is still trying to learn the culture of Rocky Mount but it is funny as hell how Crystal Wimes-Anderson who has only been here from Florida a little over a year and running against Rev. Richard Joyner Incumbent in Ward 4 act like she has figured something out. Oh because she has joined Rocky Mount Concerned Citizens and pushing their agenda.

Lindell Kay said Andre is a character and he was questioned what did he mean. I googled Character and this is one of the examples listed, “The character of a person or place consists of all the qualities they have that make them distinct from other people or places.”

I disagree with Nehemiah that Lindell Kay was a voice for the people because I have talked to the majority of the reporters from the Rocky Mount Telegram that covered the Rocky Mount Edgecombe County side. I knew Jeff Herrin the editor personally, editors before him, the current editor Gene Metrick and others. I used to write so many letters to the editor weekly that some folk thought I worked there.

I remember a Black reporter that was here before Lindell Kay that was writing about Rocky Mount Edgecombe County side and he was not allowed in some meetings in private settings. I remember when he was not allowed to come in a meeting. When this guy was leaving to go to another job, I met with him and he introduced me to blogging and I have been rolling since. However a White female out of Winston Salem that followed my internet writings had told me about blogging as well.

About Councilman Andre Knight incident fall no it would not have stopped the conversation about it if the city had put out he had had an incident. It would not have mattered because some folk don’t give a damn about some folk even when they are having a hard time on a personal note. I bet if Andre had been White this conversation would not be.

Bronson said that some folk don’t care about a person’s track record/background if the person is saying what they want to hear. I be damn if I have that mindset. Sometimes some folk like Samuel Battle say some things that makes sense but that ain’t the case the majority of the time. Anyone that follows and promote him is just as damn ignant as he is. I don’t support known criminals and folk with records who want to make decisions for folk when I know they got ongoing issues.

Lindell Kay summed it up about Racism. What do White folk lose? He said there was no Elvis without Black music.

Damn that was good to Bronson when Lindell Kay said he was like me have 0 Friends. Somebody missed that! He was talking about my saying “I have no permanent friends no permanent enemies only permanent interest!”

Thank you Lindell Kay for educating folk about Confederate Monuments that they were for intimidating Black Folk.

When Lindell Kay segment ended, it ended for me because I know the ignant callers would begin.

I heard that Rev. Roosevelt Higgs called in talking about the Black DA and the Black Sheriff being held accountable. Damn he still mad because he and his family members has some issues with Sheriff Clee Atkinson. He probably got an issue with the DA because the incident with his son happened on the Nash County side of Rocky Mount where Higgs has been living for about the past 5 – 6 years. I sure hope he do not try to vote in Edgecombe County because he need to change his Voters Registration. Ain’t it funny how Higgs has been living in Rocky Mount Nash County but voting in Edgecombe County claiming he lives in Speed but Andre Knight sued the County because of Higgs and some racists challenged Knight’s residency saying he lived on Nash County side and not Edgecombe. But Knight has been on the council for nearly 20 years. Higgs was removed as the Edgecombe County Democratic Party Chair around 2 years ago for not following the Democratic Party Plan of Organization.

I heard Alice Davis called in talking about she didn’t think that it should be an issue with Tarrick Pittman being served with eviction notices and being appointed by Mayor Sandy Roberson who is running for Congress. Tarrick was evicted by the city because he owes them around $15000 now owes Speight’s Trophy around $7000. He claims the buildings have issues and obviously he felt he didn’t have to pay. But my question is why didn’t he move out if the buildings were not in condition to work in? That part!

What Lindell Kay did today is to show what Media is all about. You write about folk and issues and do what you can to sell papers and to gain notoriety on the job. You get to win awards. You get to expose folk but because White folk keep Black issues at the forefront, Black folk do not do the same when it comes to White issues. Lindell talked about how Rocky Mount Concerned Citizens Whites talk about Andre 24-7 but show me a page that Black Folk are talking about the Mayor and other Whites?

Today was the best show that I have ever seen on WNCR TV since I had my show at night from  9 – 11 back in the early 2000’s. I had real guest to come in or to call from across the nation and the same when I had my show on WCPS Radio in the early 2000’s. My show was “You Can Make A Difference!”

I will leave you with that part, “You Can Make A Difference!” Get involved! Hold all folk accountable, family, friends and others who are making decisions on behalf of all folk politically. To do otherwise you are part of the problem.

Rocky Mount need some real media outlets and social media pages that are going to talk about it all and not just sit back and talk about White folk coming for Black Leadership. Well hell you are on Rocky Mount Concerned Citizens page and others allowing them to say mess about Black Leadership when you don’t question them.

But when White folk do something like Mayor Sandy Roberson and his most recent appointment of Tarrick Pittman when folk know he has issues but Black folk ain’t saying anything.

As long as Black Folk continue to be silent on issues that matter, we will continue to have our Black Leadership under attack with Racist White Folk and Ignant Safe Negro Black Folk trying to discredit and destroy them.

I refuse to be silent.

Candidate Bronson Williams Rocky Mount City Council Ward 3

I am an Edgecombe County Democratic Party Precinct Chair, County Executive Committee Member, State Executive Committee Member and Member Edgecombe County African American Caucus of the NC Democratic Party.

I can vote for some candidates and some I can not because I don’t live in their district but once elected they are my elected official because they represent the entire county.

As long as I stay a Democrat, I will hold all Democrats accountable for their actions whether I can vote for them and/or live in my county because all Democrats local and abroad should be carrying out the Democratic Party Agenda. I have no permanent friends no permanent enemies only permanent interest!

I can not vote for Bronson Williams however he falls under the Edgecombe County Democratic Party.

I have been knowing Bronson for years dating back to when he was over at Ebenezer MBC Rocky Mount NC doing some work as a teen for Rev. Dr. Thomas L. Walker. I remember Bronson and another guy building websites. I remember when Bronson was working at WHIG TV because I used to go there every week especially on Sundays.

I remember when Bronson ran against Shelly Willingham for NC House 23 in 2014 and I told him not to. I said although Willingham is not liked by many Democrats ain’t going to support you when you have not been active in the County Democratic Party. Willingham beat him.

I remember when Bronson wanted to run for County Chair and he and I both had to leave the County Convention because he had a family member’s funeral to attend and I had to video a funeral so that is the year Lawrence Taylor was voted in as chair. That was a mess added on to the previous mess we had had with Roosevelt Higgs the outgoing chair.

I remember when Bronson became a Precinct Chair. I remember when he became the 3rd Vice Chair of the County Party under Roosevelt Higgs while he was County Chair.

Around a year ago Martha Johnson 1st Vice Chair, Gladys Shelton 2nd Vice Chair, Bronson Williams 3rd Vice Chair and Ella Collins Hopkins names were on the petition trying to get Deborah Jordan Tarboro Town Councilwoman/Precinct Chair/President Edgecombe County African American Caucus, Sarah Peveler President Edgecombe Democratic Women and a couple of more removed from the Edgecombe County Democratic Party because they had filed a petition to get Roosevelt Higgs removed and they were successful. Martha Johnson was the one that was behind the petition because she didn’t get elected to move up to be Chair of the Party. Leshaun Jenkins was recruited from outside of the party County Officers and Bronson didn’t sign his name. He didn’t participate in the Council of Review Hearing that he was elected to serve on around 3 months ago because Gwen Wilkins backed out.

Some in the party questioned why Bronson kept running for something in the party when he didn’t carry out the duties of the 3rd Vice Chair.

Bronson wanted to replace former Rocky Mount City Councilman Lamont Wiggins along with Gwen Wilkins but Richard Joyner was appointed and elected.

Bronson ran for Mayor and was in a run off election against Sandy Roberson. Many on his campaign says Bronson threw the election. His residency was challenged during the run off. I didn’t know where he lived. This made no sense because he claimed the residential address during the time he wanted the appointment and then for mayor. Sources say he is still claiming that residence and there is no electricity and no one lives there.

I supported Bronson for Mayor so I can relate to those who questioned him throwing the election. But for me it was the residency challenge and if he did not win it, I would have been totally embarrassed. But again for me recently he stated on News You Can Use that he met with Mayor Sandy Roberson and that he had shared his political strategy with him, that he could raise money and that he felt he could win the Congress District 2 seat. I challenged him and I understand that the next day he came back dressed up his comments about Sandy winning the seat because I had said Senator Don Davis should be the top runner especially since he has served in the NC General Assembly almost as long as G.K. Butterfield has been our Congressman. Butterfield announced his retirement so therefore he is not seeking re-election.

Now what I am trying to figure out is why didn’t Bronson file for election within the first 3 days of filing for the 2022 elections since he had already put out campaign signs before the filing period began.

Why did Bronson go to Nash County to video candidates filing for the 2022 elections when he lives on the Edgecombe County side? Oh probably because some of Ward 3 is in Nash County. But why not video the Edgecombe candidates who filed.

Around a year ago Bronson wanted to be on the State Democratic Party Executive Committee and I had not planned to seek the position but I nominated myself and I was elected.

Bronson has shown me he is a Roosevelt Higgs boy and it is documented on News You Can Use.

Bronson has shown me that he is not consistent when it comes to politics. I can not trust him to represent me so therefore I support Richard Joyner for Ward 3.

I tried to support the young buck but I failed!

How do you come to the conclusion that Ward 3 has been last in thought and investment?

You say a chance for true success the Ward treated equitably. So you are saying that former Councilman Lamont Wiggins did nothing and now saying Councilman Richard Joyner is doing nothing?

Repurposing of the judicial center into affordable housing and a community resource center really. So would be the steps to making that happening from beginning to end?

Affordable housing is needed in all of Rocky Mount.

What would you do different than already being done to make neighborhoods safe?

Please explain more in detail what Community Centered Leadership is and how would you make that happen? What is an example of that taken place in another Ward and not limited to Rocky Mount?

What about Business Development?

What do you mean by Employee Focused? What role do councilmembers have in dealing with employees?

My role in representing other folk have not changed since I supported you when you ran for mayor. Bronson Williams Question For News You Can Use As It Relates To Me

My friend over a period of time you have allowed Rev. Roosevelt Higgs and Samuel Battle to call in to your show and say flat out lies about me and you allowed them to go on and on when you know it was lies.

I have called you recently when Samuel Battle said I should have been recused myself as the NAACP Legal Redress Chair because I am some kin to a murdered victim and the person that is in jail mother contacted us and we responded to the mother and told her she needed a lawyer. You know the story. You know Samuel Battle was working with her but he started out talking about helping the murdered victims mother then ended up on the side with mother of the son that is in jail. Now Nehemiah Smith your co-host is working with her.

I called you and asked why you didn’t set the record straight that I am the Legal Redress Chair and all complaints come to me but there is a committee and I only have one voice and one vote. You said you were going to get it right on the show the next day.

Question: Did you?

Just a couple of days ago you allowed Rev. Roosevelt Higgs to call in and say that he got a horror call that someone called him and said I was running for Senate and then he went into telling folk in detail where I lived.

You know that I just recently posted and called in and said I said I am supporting Senator Don Davis to replace Congressman G.K. Butterfield and I am supporting Rep. Kandie Smith for Senate to replace Davis.

Question: Why would you entertain such when I listen to your show and call in weekly?

Question: Why did you feel it was necessary for him to go into detail about where I live because you know I ain’t running for anything but that ain’t a problem because my information is all of the internet?

I have come to the conclusion that my questions from now on will be to News You Can Use is when Rev. Roosevelt Higgs, Samuel Battle and anyone who call in and say mess about me and I know, repeat and I know that you know they are lying and it is irrelevant because I call in to your show and when I look at it at night I comment. But the most important thing is we talk so I know you know how I operate.

Samuel Battle is just jealous of my works since he learned who I am over the past couple of years and it is obvious because he continues to talk about it all the time.

Rev. Roosevelt Higgs has been jealous of my works since the late 80’s. Rev. Higgs purpose of calling in to the show about me running for Senate was to attempt to discredit my character something that he has been trying to do all of these years but can’t. He brought up where I live but that has nothing to do with me not living in the Senate District.

So I came to the conclusion that he is mad because I am supporting Rocky Mount City Councilman Richard Joyner who you have announced that you will be running against him. I also mentioned about your residency in response to some previous conversations when you were challenged during the last election.

My friend I ain’t mad with nobody, you know me and I know you.

When I questioned your News You Can Use format because of hearing others talking about it, I questioned it because I know that I will respond to mess and I didn’t want to disrespect the show responding to News You Can’t Use especially when it comes to me.
