Football Thursday: South Edgecombe vs West Edgecombe Middle School Cougar Bowl 2 South Players Injured One 2 Broken Arms And One Concussion

The last game of the season for South Edgecombe Middle School and 2 school days from basketball tryouts we had 2 players to get injured.

Jarratt Mobley quarterback was reported to have 2 broken arms but surgery is not required.

Kvonte Dupree suffered a concussion.

It appears that it is not as a bad as it could have been.

South lost the game 48 – 0. Those were some big and tall players on the West team.

When the NCHSAA football state playoffs kick off tonight, three of the four area teams that made the postseason will be playing at home.

In the 1A playoffs, Jones Senior will host Northampton-West; in the 1AA playoffs, Ayden-Grifton will host East Carteret; and in the 2AA playoffs, Kinston will host SouthWest Edgecombe. (Read more)

Just when we thought the dust had seemingly settled in the Cain sexual harassment scandal, a third woman has surfaced saying she too felt harassed by Cain but did not file charges. And a former aide at the National Restaurant Association (NRA) says everyone knew of Cain’s inappropriate behavior with women and that it was just a matter of time before it came to light in the presidential race.

However, in my opinion, the real public policy issue we should be discussing is why these types of "settlement and release" agreements are offered in the first place, who gets them, and do they serves the greater good in fighting workplace discrimination and harassment claims.
