U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders Questions Mitch McConnell About $2,000 Check “Who Doesn’t Need It”

All of a sudden Mitch McConnell is “worried” that someone in America might get a $2,000 check “who doesn’t need it.”

Funny. He had no problem giving a $1.4 billion tax break to Charles Koch and his family with a net worth of $113 billion.

He had no problem giving a $560 million tax break to Sheldon Adelson, the casino tycoon who is worth $34.3 billion.

He had no problem giving a $104 million tax refund to Amazon over the past three years combined after it made $30 billion in profits.

He had no problem giving a $1 trillion tax break to the top one percent and profitable corporations.

Tens of millions of Americans have lost their jobs. They have lost their incomes. They have depleted their life savings. They are going hungry. And they are scared to death that they will be evicted from their homes.

I say to Senator McConnell: Start worrying about the people in this country who are hurting and not just your billionaire campaign contributors.

Stop blocking legislation from coming to the floor which would provide a $2,000 direct payment that the working class of this country desperately needs.

Let the Senate vote, Mitch!

Koch-backed study finds ‘Medicare for All’ would save U.S. trillions – Think Progress

A single-payer Medicare for All system would reduce the amount the U.S. spends on health care by more than $2 trillion, a Koch brothers-funded study released Monday found.

Research by the Mercatus Center at George Mason University — a libertarian think tank backed by the Koch brothers — projected that the Medicare for All plan championed by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) would cost the government $32.6 trillion over 10 years. The highly critical report found that even doubling all federal individual and corporate income taxes would not cover the costs of Sanders’ Medicare for All plan.

The study did conclude, however, that Medicare for All would result in significant savings for the government because of lower prescription drug costs, saving $846 billion over the next decade. Streamlined administrative costs under the plan would save another $1.6 trillion, the researchers at the Mercatus Center found. (Read more)

Barack Obama supporters outraged by Bernie Sanders’ ‘deplorable’ attack on Democratic Party on anniversary of Martin Luther King assassination

The Watch Dog response: A damn shame this guy is an Independent but ran as a Democrat. This is why I could not support him. So since he branded the Democratic Party as a failure then why don’t his ass run as a Republican and see what happens. I damn sure hope he does not run as a Democrat in the upcoming Presidential Election.

Bernie Sanders has triggered a backlash by making comments interpreted as an attack on Barack Obama on the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King.

The senator for Vermont appeared to criticise the first black US President as he branded the Democratic Party a “failure”.

Speaking in Jackson, Mississippi, he said Democrats had lost a record number of legislative seats.

“The business model, if you like, of the Democratic Party for the last 15 years or so has been a failure,’ said the Vermont Senator.

“People sometimes don’t see that because there was a charismatic individual named Barack Obama. He was obviously an extraordinary candidate, brilliant guy. But beyond that reality…” (Read more)
