Tarboro NC – Fountains at the Albermarle Employee Has COVID-19

Fountains at the Albemarle employee has COVID-19 Information was released Sunday that an employee at the Fountains at the Albemarle has tested positive for the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). According to Jill Hofer, the director of communication for Watermark Retirement Communities, which manages the Fountains at the Albemarle, she stated an associate who works at the Tarboro facility had tested positive for COVID-19 and had been sent home on April 10. The Fountains at the Albemarle is a senior living facility that houses hundreds of people who live at the Trade Street location. In a statement, Hofer said the associate hasn’t worked since April 10 and continues to be quarantined at home while recovering. As part of the company’s contact tracing process, they told two additional associates without symptoms to also shelter at home because they had apparently come in contact with the employee who tested positive. Hofer said all three employees are receiving pay as they comply with mitigation policies. No other residents or associates have been affected by COVID-19 at the senior living facility. There are new protocols that are now in place which include temporary restrictions to entrances, essential visitors only, extensive cleaning and disinfection on an ongoing basis, self-isolation, social distancing measures, surge staffing, PPE supply and more.
