Speight’s Trophy Shop Response To Tarrick Pittman Eviction

The DCN News Blog Online TV response: I have much respect for your family especially your dad whom I know and enjoy having a conversation with him every year in August when I pick up my plaques for Men’s Day. I could get my trophy’s from Tarboro but I choose to get them at Speight’s Trophy when he was downtown and I followed him to the new location. I look forward to talking to Mr. Speight. I love the service and awesome work that they provide me.

It is a damn shame that some folk have created Tarrick (Cub) the bully. I tried talking to him a few years ago but he didn’t take my advice. But some of you who are now commenting you help create this monster when you supported him coming for Andre Knight, the city and now the Speight family. This is what some Racist White Folk and some Ignant Safe Negro Black Folk along with the local TV Stations have created by promoting this bully. Well it looks like he has lied one too many times and he is headed back to court. I’ll wait!

It has come to my attention that our tenant is once again spreading false information, so once again I feel the need to set the record straight.

Our tenant is saying that I do not have the authority to evict him, that only my father does. It is true that my father’s name is listed as the owner of the building, but Speight’s Trophy Shop actually owns the building. I am partners in the business with my parents. As a partner in the business, and actually the face/voice of the business for years now, any major decision I make, I discuss with my parents, out of respect to get their approval, and we make a decision that is 100% united. Let me be perfectly clear, all 3 of us are united in the decision to have the current tenant evicted because of nonpayment. We are also united that John Jesso is our representative. We do not have anyone lined up to move in, another lie. We would love for the current tenant to remain in the property, if only he would get caught up on what he owes us and stay current on future payments. To the tenant, you stated in an interview with The Enterprise, that you "have the funds". Pay and stay. It’s pretty simple. Your narrative that I just want you out is false. We just want to be paid what is rightfully owed to us. If anyone has any doubt to where my father stands, in the official court document that I have posted, my father is listed as the Plaintiff.

Once again, my father is 100% united with me in the decision to have the tenant evicted. I ask our tenant to show a little respect for my almost 90-year-old father and let him enjoy his retirement.

Housing board appointee is in midst of eviction process

The DCN News Blog Online TV response: See this is the type of folk that Republicans like to get to do their dirty work, those whom come with baggage. It was all over the papers a couple of years ago when Pittman’s business CoolGeeks was evicted by the city from the Douglas Block. Now here we go again. Mayor Sandy Roberson says it is news to him. Really! This is confirmation that Republicans like Mayor Roberson they don’t care about the character of certain vocal Black folk simply because they are against certain vocal Black folk in position of power. Pittman tried to unseat Councilman Andre Knight and was supporting Mayor Roberson for Mayor. This appointment was probably geared to Mayor Roberson trying to use Pittman to get some Black votes as he is seeking the 1st Congressional District seat that Democrat Congressman G.K. Butterfield announced his retirement.

“This is news to me." Rocky Mount Mayor Sandy Roberson, candidate for Congress in North Carolina’s Second District”

ROCKY MOUNT — Mayor Sandy Roberson has appointed former council candidate Tarrick Pittman to the city’s Housing Authority board.

Pittman, who lost to Councilman Andre Knight in 2019, is in the middle of an eviction fight and faces an outstanding warrant alleging he communicated threats related to the matter, according to documents on file with the Nash County Clerk of Court.

Pittman said the eviction is actually a re-negotiation and the communicating threats accusation is a misunderstanding.

The leader of the Downtown Merchants Association, Pittman operates CoolGeeks Computer Repair at 122 N.E. Main St.

Pittman owes $7,000 in back rent, according to the eviction complaint.

Property owner Jeffrey Speight said he wanted Pittman out of his building, but he didn’t want to comment any further.

"We’re going to court," Speight said.

The court date is set for the end of the month.

The property is managed by Chambliss and Rabil. A message left at the office of Jimmy Rabil wasn’t returned by deadline for this story.

Pittman said he is trying to . . . (Read more)
