Governor to soon address SB473

ROCKY MOUNT — Gov. Roy Cooper said Wednesday he will soon let everyone know his plans with a bill to boost penalties for local corruption.

State Rep. James Gailliard, D-Nash, is pastor of Word Tabernacle Church, home of the Impact Center, and a candidate for Congress.

Gailliard was one of four Democrats to vote for the bill when it passed 64-44 in the House on Nov. 29. The bill passed the Senate by a 42-6 vote in May. (Read more)
