Outrage as social media users compare Waco, Texas to Baltimore and Ferguson uprisings – Daily News

The deadly gun battle among several factions of biker gangs in Waco, Texas has social media users questioning the civility of its police intervention in the wake of Baltimore and Ferguson’s uprisings.

“They’ve recovered at least 100 weapons,” Deray McKesson, a high-profile activist wrote on Twitter. “The (National) Guard would be mobilized now if, black.”

With photos showing detained members of the criminal motorcycle gangs plugging away at their phones as police calmly stand guard, activists are quick to point out the disparity of the situation. (Source: Read more)

Ferguson: Demonstrators Gather Outside Police Department Night After Shooting – ABC News

A manhunt for suspects in the ambush shootings of two police officers in Ferguson, Missouri, continued tonight as several dozen demonstrators gathered outside the headquarters of the city’s police department for a candlelight vigil.

It was during that gathering that shots rang out and the two officers were injured. (Source: Read more)

Ferguson’s city manager is out after Justice Dept. report – Washington Post

Officials in Ferguson, Mo., announced Tuesday night that John Shaw, the city manager, was leaving his position.

The move, which the city called “a mutual separation agreement,” comes in the wake of a scathing Justice Department report that criticized Shaw and other Ferguson officials for the city’s discriminatory and predatory behavior toward citizens.

This change is the biggest fallout yet from the Justice Department’s report, and it is the second time in as many days that a key Ferguson figure cited in the report is leaving his position. On Monday, the Missouri Supreme Court said that a new judge would be taking over court cases in the city. (Source: Read more)

Here are 7 racist jokes Ferguson police and court officials made over email – VOX

The Political Agitator response: This is a damn shame. So now I want to hear what the folks had to say about how the black folks behaved in Ferguson. What you got to say about how the Police Department and Court Officials behaved. Need to fire all of them a… because all of them probably knew about how they were behaving. Damn now Ignant Racist White Folks who talked about the protestors and the Ignant Safe Negroes who talked about them also, what do you have to say now? You see I am so sick and tired of folks acting as if black folks don’t have the right to get emotional when they have to endure this type of mess. We have feelings and dignity and I be damn if we are going to give it away.

The US Department of Justice found many, many things wrong in its investigation into the Ferguson Police Department, including a pattern of racial bias. But perhaps the most disturbing findings were the racist email exchanges between police and court officials, which show outright hostility and prejudice toward the St. Louis suburb’s black residents.

Here are the seven emails the Justice Department uncovered, all of which come from current employees and were apparently sent during work hours: (Source: Read more)

Justice report finds systematic discrimination against African-Americans in Ferguson – CNN

The Political Agitator response: But them damn jokes though. Check them out at the end of the article. As soon as the truth be made known in Ferguson and other places, the better off we will be. Some folks are in denial or just don’t give a damn about what is actually going on in America as it relates to the BLACK FOLKS. But then some folks act like they don’t know why some black folks act like they do. Well I get it. I am not asleep! I am not dreaming! I know what time it is! Folks this is why some white folks don’t want black folks in office because things get revealed. Some white folks don’t want black folks in office because they are afraid that some black folks are going to stir up some stuff. Well hell the truth need to be stirred up! The truth will set us all free however I came to the conclusion a several years ago that some folks don’t want to be. Well I ain’t the one!

The probe is the result of an investigation ordered by Attorney General Eric Holder after the police shooting that killed Michael Brown last summer.

Among the findings, reviewed by CNN: from 2012 to 2014, 85% of people subject to vehicle stops by Ferguson police were African-American; 90% of those who received citations were black; and 93% of people arrested were black. This while 67% of the Ferguson population is black.

In 88% of the cases in which the Ferguson police reported using force, it was against African-Americans. During the period 2012-2014 black drivers were twice as likely as white drivers to be searched during traffic stops, but 26% less likely to be found in possession of contraband.

Key Witness Who Corroborated Darren Wilson’s Testimony Exposed As A Total Fraud – PoliticusUSA

The Political Agitator response: This is no surprise because this shows that it does not matter who you are, it matters what their agenda is and that is to do what is right when it is convenient for them. Go ahead and get mad but I don’t just make this stuff up.

On Monday, The Smoking Gun published a lengthy report exposing “Witness 40,” a woman who testified before the St. Louis County grand jury who corroborated all of the main details of former Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson’s story regarding his encounter with unarmed teenager Michael Brown in August. TSG was able to identify “Witness 40″ as Sandra McElroy, a 45-year-old St. Louis resident who has a history of making false statements and previously interjected herself in a high-profile case in the St. Louis area. McElroy’s testimony has been used by a number of conservative pundits, most visibly Sean Hannity, to bolster their support of Wilson’s account. (Source: Read more)

All Law Enforcement Officers Are Not Bad, Insensitive, Brutish And Yes Even Racist by Jackie McClean

Jackie Mclean

I totally agree 100 % that not all law enforcement officers are bad, insensitive, brutish and yes even racist, some wear the badge with pride and dignity and seeks to serve and protect all citizens while putting their own lives on the line. Yes, the reality is very real whether Fox news or any other slanted view of America’s racial and trust issues among minorities /people of color is fully acknowledged. When the law is broken therein lies arrests and sanctions- no one is oblivious to this fact. However, when people are dying- killed for jaywalking, selling cigarettes, reaching for their keys, in the back seat of patrol car while being transported handcuffed, hung in a jail cell, retrieving their Id as directed by the police, they are held as barbaric, cultural social degenerates, misfits, if you will- rather than people deserving to be treated humane.

I think it’s insanity to marginalize, excuse or suggest that this is an acceptable or justifiable means to enforce the law. I pray all the time for young black males with whom I serve day to day that they never meet with this kind of abusive law enforcement. In the same vein, not every black male no matter how big, thuggish, or vocal he may appear is a menace to society. We have to be willing to accept the harsh reality of what is playing out across this country racism is NOT dead. Michael Vick’s dogs received better justice than the whirlwind of out of control police killing black males and beating women ( black/white) like animals. Nobody’s doing time, paying horrendous fines or performing community service for the inhumane treatment of these individuals.

I’m thankful for those who have had the courage to video tape these injustices and shaking my head at those who have the audacity to negate the facts surrounding the loss of these lives as if they meant nothing. Every life is valuable. Quite frankly, I’m ready for community dialogue (not a war of words and disrespect ) that speaks to these realities and more importantly, what needs to done in this community to assure we don’t become the next Ferguson, LA, Georgia or Chicago. A community is united by the bonds and strength of its citizens, not by the President. Of course, what’s happening is his fault because he failed to teach these victims how to be respectful and obedient when they are told by the police to put their hands up. I guess one would agree, if you’re vain enough to believe every slanted commentary aired by Fox News. The word of God says, “we perish for lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4:6) The word further declares, “if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven” (2 Chronicles 7:14) How do we, who are called to turn the world upside down do so when we can’t even talk openly and honestly (without hurling insults and attacks) about racial injustice and hypocrisy of a flawed legal system of separate and unequal justice without going on the offense. NO, not every police is bad, but YES, there are some rotten apples full of worms that are causing an epic virus of discontent and unrest among the citizens they have sworn to serve and protect. Can we talk? One cannot heal the land until he have diagnosed the disease and established a prescriptive cure.

Missouri AG confirms Michael Brown grand jury misled by St. Louis DA

The Political Agitator response: I know everybody ain’t as ignant as the DA was. Anyone who seen how the the Grand jury was handled know that that mess won’t right and if they say it was, then they are in denial or just don’t give a damn about justice. It is all about the process and nothing to do with the people involved. The color of the people can change but the damn process should always be the same.

Subsequent to a previous report from Lawrence O’Donnell, the Missouri Attorney General has confirmed with “Last Word” that instructions given the Michael Brown grand jury describing the police “use of force” laws was incorrect and misleading.

Video from Program

The background of this situation: Lawrence O’Donnell reported that after reviewing the transcripts of the grand jury, his analyst discovered that the assistant district attorneys working for Bob McCulloch gave the jurors an outdated copy of Missouri law, which stated all that was required for an officer to use deadly force is their “reasonable belief” that there was a threat.

In 1985, in Tennessee v. Garner directly before Darren Wilson’s testimony giving the impression that all that was required under the law for Wilson to kill Michael Brown with impunity was his belief that he was in danger, without the additional requirement of probable cause for such a belief.

The Missouri AG now proclaims that was wrong, and that the Missouri Law needs to be changed and updated to reflect the Supreme Court’s ruling. (Source: Read more)

Attorney Roy Miller

Attorney Roy Miller

Nationwide (BlackNews.com) — Attorney Roy Miller of Macon, Georgia, states that “if the District Attorney was serious about getting an indictment on Darren Wilson, he would have done as usual and made an arrest. This should have been done before sending the case to the Grand Jury. Probable Cause is usually first established by the arresting officer when an arrest is made and the Grand Jury then basically agrees or disagrees. Why change actual legal procedure, just for one man?”

Miller adds: “In every criminal case that I have been involved during my 24 years of practicing criminal law, a felony arrest always happened first… before a case went to the grand jury to consider dismissal or indictment (move forward). This did not happen with officer Darren Wilson, because he was never arrested; however, other men arrested for a felony had it happen to them. Why is this important?”

He continues, “Because when an officer makes an arrest, he has already established that probable cause exists. So when it goes to a grand jury, the grand jury usually follows the sworn statement and the expert opinion of the arresting officer’s finding that probable cause exists. The grand jury should not make the first opinion on probable cause and to do so appears to be a due process violation of the United States Constitution.”

Miller continues, “By Ferguson Police not doing this, they did not expose officer Wilson to the same negative procedure in which they have placed other felony arrest suspects. Almost all the time in major felony cases, an arrest supplies to a grand jury an opinion of probable cause that they follow. If an arrest was stratigically omitted, this would be disgusting and illegal conduct for a prosecutor. I feel that the Prosecutor should be suspended immediately and investigation should begin. Integrity is at issue and possible present misconduct should be prevented. Prosecution for the murder of Michael Brown seemed to have worked hardest for the defendant.”

St. Louis police officers’ group demands Rams players be disciplined for ‘hands up, don’t shoot’– RawStory

The Political Agitator response: SMDH!

Reacting to five members of the St. Louis Rams coming onto the field for Sunday’s game displaying the ‘hands up, don’t shoot’ gesture, a St. Louis police officers fraternal organization is demanding the team discipline the players, and that the team and league issue a formal apology, reports KSDK.

In a statement released Sunday evening, the St. Louis Police Officers Association condemned the display, calling it “tasteless, offensive and inflammatory.”

Prior to player introductions before Sunday’s game, five players — Stedman Bailey, Tavon Austin, Jared Cook, Chris Givens, and Kenny Britt — came out onto the field first with their hands in the air prior to being joined by their teammates. (Source: Read more)

Why Charles Barkley Supports The Ferguson Grand Jury Decision – Roland Martin Reports

The Political Agitator response: “Ignorance will never end. Even those with money can’t buy SENSE!!” Author: Curmilus Dancy II The Political Agitator

Former NBA star Charles Barkley recently called Ferguson looters “scumbags,” praised police officers who work in black neighborhoods, and said he supports the decision made by the grand jury not to indict officer Darren Wilson in the Michael Brown shooting.

“The true story came out from the grand jury testimony,” Barkley said, adding that he was made aware of “key forensic evidence, and several black witnesses that supported Officer Darren Wilson’s story…” He continued, “I can’t believe anything I hear on television anymore. And, that’s why I don’t like talking about race issues with the media anymore, because they (the media) love this stuff, and lead people to jump to conclusions. The media shouldn’t do that. They never do that when black people kill each other.” (Source: Read more)
