Breaking News – Is It True That Terry Smith Is No Longer The Editor At The Tarboro Daily Southerner?

Is it true that Terry Smith is no longer the editor at the Tarboro Daily Southerner?

Terry Smith Editor of The Daily Southerner I Hear You, “Big big difference in Reidsville” However My Question To You Is Cause I Don’t Know The Answer

Terry Smith I read your article “Big big difference in Reidsville” with much interest because I appreciate you doing your research. I am very much familiar with Amon Muhammad and Muhammad’s Study Group organization as it relates to the Black Family Day in Reidsville because I have been receiving a personal invitation over the years. However I have not had the opportunity to attend.

Mr. Smith my question to you is, “Has the Town of Tarboro co-sponsored the Confederate Soldiers re-enactment and other things that has taken place on the Commons that also could have been held at Indian Lake?” You see if the Town has then they are the ones who have opened up the can of worms and not Remi Muhammad. You see sometimes those who are in charge set the tone and then when others try to get in and reap some of the same benefits then others complain. And then when some see it as racist because they are denied the same right, then research is done at great lengths to attempt to make black folks seem as if they are just all about playing the race card. Well sir I don’t live in the Tarboro City limits however my physical address is a Tarboro route and I call it like I see it cause I don’t play especially when it comes to politics.

Thanks my friend for your research however I look forward to your answer to my question in a response in your paper. Your response can be obtained right here in Tarboro. But your newspaper probably already know because they have done articles on past events on the Commons.

White Candidate should represent District 2 in poll – Source: The Daily Southerner

Now this is just too funny. Here we go again Terry Smith editor of the newspaper trying to justify their movement.

So again something to mislead folks because how many of these people live in the district, how many voted more than once?

See article: “White Candidate should represent District 2 in poll.”

Poll In The Daily Southerner About Race Pertaining To The Edgecombe County Public Schools BOE That Ended In A Deadlock

Crews, Privott voted onto Edgecombe County Cultural Arts Counsil by Terry Smith Editor But The Town Appointment To The North Carolina Eastern Municipal Power Agency Board of Directors Was More Interesting

Now this is damn good, the Tarboro Town Council votes to appoint Jim Alford to replace Sam Nobles on the North Carolina Eastern Municipal Power Agency Board of Directors. And certain white folks in racist Tarboro talking about experience and other when appointing folks to boards. So why didn’t Patsy Miller and gang didn’t say something or better yet where is her editorial? Oh she and the like are too busy protesting the Black Family Day. LMBAO!! But this appointment was a done deal before the meeting anyway.

I found the following quote by Sam Noble to be too damn interesting when Councilman Rick Page asked to attend the North Carolina Eastern Municipal Power Agency Conference.

Sam Noble did not hesitate.

"It would be hard to explain t taxpayers," Noble said. "You don’t have to go to Asheville to take  part in all their programs."

Sam Nobles is the same one who received a $1000 per month to serve on the Electricities Board that Rocky Mount Councilman Andre Knight challenged and the Eastern Board no longer receive monies however the Western Board still does. I can’t believe Nobles went there. Oh hell yeah I can because he has gotten his. Obviously he influenced the council not to appoint Page so therefore there must be a hidden agenda since Alford received the appointment. I am so glad I am familiar with NCEMA and Electricities and don’t have to rely on Nobles to tell the story. Yep attended several NCEMPA meetings and seen Nobles in action. So since Alford attended the meetings with Nobles I guess he looked forward to eating at Parker’s Barbecue after each meeting. LMBAO!!

I ain’t gonna spend anytime on the Cultural Arts Council appointment because the article headlines speaks for itself. Rudolph Knight a known historian and a columnist in the Smith’s newspaper shows just how much “they” think of Knight.

Read the article for yourself and see that the headlines should have been the NCEMPA appointment.

Folks I Had Asked Terry Smith Editor The Daily Southerner Not To Print My Letter But He Did Anyway

Note: Someone brought it to my attention that I said resend instead of rescind so this is an error on my behalf. This is what happens when I am multi-tasking on Facebook, chatting sometimes more than one person, downloading pictures, dvds on The DCN TV and more while writing things. My good friend Ms. Elizabeth Ohree always tell me that her daughter says with all that I do my head is going to bust wide open. I pray not but I tell sometimes it is tough. But thank God I have never had a headache in 48 years. Curmilus Dancy II – The Political Agitator

I had forwarded the following letter "It would be politically correct to appoint another black person’ to Terry Smith Editor The Daily Southerner but on Saturday however I forwarded another email to Smith on Sunday asking him to resend my previous email.

Thank you Mr. Editor because I have been receiving much response from some who read it in your paper and said they actually appreciated it.

Subject: Letter to editor: ECPS District 2 Appointment 2011

Letter to editor:

Edgecombe County Public Schools District 2 Appointment

I read The Daily Southerner Friday, May 13, 2011 edition and I take interest in Thomas W. “Brownie” Edison white male wanting to be appointed to fill the unexpired term of Attorney Teresa D. Bryant District 2 who recently announced her resignation. It is nothing personal against Edison because I don’t know him. However, I am glad to know he has children in the system and I have spoken out about some board members not having a child in the system. But just having a child in the system is just one of my many pet peeves.

District 2 is a black majority based district by law so therefore it would be politically correct to appoint another black person to fill the slot. This is something that Edison may not know and/or he may not care. But it is what it is. I don’t have a problem with a white person running to be elected but I do have a serious problem with a white person being appointed.

The board is a 4 – 3 white majority however the county population reflects a 4 – 3 black majority. Bryant will not be able to vote so therefore it will be a 4 – 2 white majority when it comes time for the appointment.

I find it kind of ironic that districts 1, 2 and 3 representatives are black and districts 4, 5, 6 and 7 are white. However, I believe that districts 6 and 7 are nearly equally populated black to white.

During the ECPS monthly board meeting on Monday, May 9, 2011 during public comments I made a request to Bryant to reconsider not resigning. It is funny how the public comments were not mentioned in The Daily Southerner’s report by Jamica Ashley. Why? Because in my opinion Terry Smith is and has been a voice for the Edgecombe County Public Schools white board members for many years.

So I am asking those who live in district 2 to please contact Bryant and ask her to reconsider not resigning from the board at this time. One of her reasons for resigning is because she will not have a child in the school system. Well the majority of the board members today do not have a child in the system.

Bryant brings a whole new perspective to the board. She has been a school board attorney so therefore she is a valuable asset to the board and the community. She serves on the policy council and if the policies are in order then it will eliminate a lot of mess.

I say to everyone in district 2 and all persons in Edgecombe County to contact Bryant and ask her to reconsider not resigning from the board. Bryant needs to stay on board because we are in crucial times with the budget cuts and the tension within the system among staff.

That Racist Daily Southerner Strikes Again As It Relates To The Edgecombe County Public Schools Restructuring Proposal. What In The Hell Is Terry Smith Problem ?

Terry Smith editor of The Daily Southerner has tried to discredit me for several years. Well it didn’t just start when he came to Tarboro because the racist came by way of the Rocky Mount Telegram where he was previous employed. I have written letters to the editor to both papers for years waking up black folks. I know I am damn good because if I was not Terry would print my letters as written and not take away the crucial points. But this is how racist newspapers operate when they have an agenda.

I sent the following letter to Terry Smith last night to clear up my comments at the Edgecombe County Public Schools Board meeting on Monday night. It is funny as hell how my letter made it in the paper the next day. See my original letter as follows:

Letter to the editor:

I am responding to the article titled: Talley defends reorganization plan at meetingbecause I have a problem with the following “Curmilis Dancy provided the only public comments that did not completely bash Talley’s proposed restructuring, citing that most employers do not give their employees notice nor seek input before making similar decisions and that Talley knows what needs to be done more than anyone else.” It should have read I was the only one who spoke in support of the proposal.

I have a problem with the writer’s use of words because for anyone who were not present and have not read my blog thepoliticalagitator.com they do not know what I really said. I am trying to figure out how the writer used the phrase that I did not completely bash Talley’s plan when I stated loudly and clearly that I stood in support of the restructuring plan that Dr. Talley would present to the board during the closed session. However I didn’t know he was going to do it in open session without calling names. So therefore I had the opportunity to hear the plan for the first time outside of what I had heard on the streets and read in this newspaper. After hearing the proposal I stand in support of it 200%.

I agree with Allen Key letter to the editor titled, “On ECPS cuts:’ It is sad… but truth is it is necessary’.”
Board member Attorney Teresa D. Bryant got it right when she echoed what board member Keith Pittman when he asked the audience to give Dr. Talley a chance. Bryant took it to another level and said give him a chance and it will be up to him to rise or fall.
Enough said.

Now see how Terry Smith fixed up my letter by leaving out crucial information. It reads as follows:
