Tarboro NC – Listen To Audio Of This Police Stop, Should Law Enforcement Officers Call Black Folk And Other Folk By Their Names And Not Refer To Them As MFs?

Mzz Mello Hinton shared the following Videos on her Facebook page about a traffic stop in Tarboro NC last night Friday September 12, 2020.

I do not support criminal activity at any level so don’t get it twisted because I promote Black Lives Matter. I do not promote bad Law Enforcement Officers but I support Law Enforcement. I ain’t even entertaining that Blue Lives Matter B.S. because I support Good Law Enforcement so if you say Law Enforcement Officers Lives matter then I can say that. But Blue Lives Matter ain’t for me because wearing a Blue Uniform versus my being a Black Man is not comparable. Plus Blue Lives Matter is not a damn body. All LEO’s do not wear Blue. What LEO’s wear Blue Uniforms? I’ll wait!

I don’t know what happened on this traffic stop and only speaking to what I heard in the audio. This type of mentality should not be allowed and any LEO who act out of their profession need to be reprimanded. Hell he called him a MF but I bet he wanted to call him a Nigger.

I am already having an issue with the Tarboro Police Chief crossing the line with his Facebook post, “Tarboro NC – Police Chief Jesse Webb Crossed The Line Comparing His Police Work With Entertainment of NBA Players Who Boycotted On Wednesday.” Read it for yourself.

I don’t have a relationship with Tarboro Police Chief however I do have one with Pinetops and the Edgecombe County Sheriff. They know I will hold them accountable for their actions so this ain’t just about Tarboro. Also I hold all folk accountable for their actions being that I am a Community and Political Activist.

This how TPD talk/treat black young boys WHO ARE NOT under arrest.

Tarboro NC – An Anonymous Letter To Some Business Owners Because They Support Black Lives Matter

image

The only problem with Social Media is some folk say ignant mess. Those who say ignant mess like the person who wrote the letter, they are the problem.

If folk would look at the facts and stop going on what someone else say just because it sounds good to them, the better off we would be.

It is sad talking boycotting 2 business because they have Black Live Matter posted on their window shows the mentality of the haters of Black folk.

See when you have folk who talking about Social media is dividing folk because of how they see BLM then the same can be said about those folk on Social Media who can’t distinguish between the good folk and those who make bad choices.

Folk Black, Brown, White and other make some bad choices but the ones that make bad choices are not the majority.

When you prove that the majority of the folk who promote Black Lives Matter are folk who make bad choices then your point becomes valid but anybody in their right mind know that is not the case.

So for folk who have an issue with folk promoting Black Lives Matter you have a serious problem because you have a problem with me because I am Black.

Edgecombe County -Black Lives Matter! Crime Didn’t Just Start! Be Distracted If You Want To! Don’t Blame Me!

imageClick On Photo To Watch Video
For you woke now folk that talk about what I and some others have not done when it comes to Edgecombe County politics ie: Black on Black Crime, School System Issues, Economic Development and other.

We been sacrificing our time and resources for Ungrateful Negro Black Folk who side with Ignant Racist White Folk.

Rocky Mount stay in the news because Ignant Racist White Folk have been mad every since the City became a Black Majority Council.

Tarboro has not been in the news like Rocky Mount however there are some issues there and Black Folk are allowing them to get a free pass at the moment but the issues exist. It didn’t start with the Confederate Monument either, been there.

It is a damn shame Black Folk can’t fight for what they deserve unless they have to be criminals. Hell yeah there are some Black Criminals but damnit I ain’t one so talk to those who are. These Ignant Racist White Folk try to discredit Black Folk and then the same ones that Big Mad because we say BLACK LIVES MATTER! Damn you would think it is a law against being Black.

Now until you can show me where Black Elected Officials have been charged with a crime then go somewhere and sit down and shut the hell up.

If a Black Elected Official is charged with a crime I am going to be the 1st to report it because I have no permanent friends no permanent enemies only permanent interests. I don’t promote crime so I don’t want to hear your opinions not based on facts.

Hell we have had too many Black Folk to go to jail and to killed over the years because folk like Trump supporters just lie, lie, lie like their Un the hell sta ble President.

But the real problem is when you have Ignant Safe Negro Black Folk who say mess about Black Leadership that Ignant Racist White Folk want to hear, the IRWF take that as validating their mess.

Black Lives Matter!

Open Letter To Tarboro City Council In Response To Tarboro Police Chief Jesse Webb Social Media Response To NBA Boycott Because Of Black Lives Matter

Image may contain: text that says 'BOYCOTT BOYCOTT'Earlier this week the following was brought to my attention, “THE BOYCOTT IS OFFICIAL!” by Jesse Webb Tarboro Police Chief.

After having a meeting with myself, I have decided to boycott my position and responsibilities as a law enforcement officer until certain demands are met.

First, considering the multi-million-dollar salaries of most “professional” athletes, the price of admission, and the time spent (or wasted) attending these events for entertainment purposes, I do not believe that the fans are receiving the services they deserve and pay for. So, I am putting the following organizations on notice with the expectation that they are able to meet my demands without further delay.

To the players of the NBA, the ability to place a basketball through a hoop with the aid of a backboard is simply too easy. And yet, you are still unable to sink every basket. You can’t even sink every basket when allowed to shoot a free-throw without the pressure of defense. I cannot understand why you are not able to accomplish this, especially considering your unimaginable salary and level of expertise and the fact that you have a referee making sure that your opponent doesn’t assault, I mean foul you thereby giving you time to make your perfect shot. So moving forward, I demand that the backboard be removed, that the players make every basket every time (100% shooting), and that referees be banned in order to make this a full contact sport at any given moment. Until this happens, I will no longer serve and protect the citizens of this great nation!

To the players of MLB, the ability to strike a baseball with a bat or throw a perfect strike every time should be relatively easy considering your salaries and constant training regiments. Yet, pitchers are still not able to always throw within the strike zone on every pitch and batters are not able to hit the ball every time even when it is in the strike zone. And this occurs despite the complete lack of pressure or defense from an opponent. And what about the outfield wall? I feel this should be moved further out because you are not reaching the full potential of your abilities. Whatever the longest home run on record is, let’s establish that as a standard distance for all games, teams, and players. So, until every pitch is a strike, until every pitched ball is hit, and until the outfield wall is positioned at an appropriate distance, I will no longer serve and protect the citizens of this great nation!

I know, this sounds rather ridiculous considering that I am not a professional basketball or baseball player. But these are my demands! I further demand that I not be fired from my position, be held responsible for the crime that happens as a result of my boycott, or be judged for expecting perfection and total agreement from professional athletes. After all, you are working within a completely controlled environment, you have the opportunity to train more than you play, and you are VERY well compensated for your efforts. I simply cannot understand why you have not reached perfection despite the fact that you are human.

On second thought, maybe I will simply ask God to forgive us for trying to remove the splinter from the eye of another while being blinded by the plank in our own eye. Maybe I should remember that I am not a professional basketball or baseball player and therefore have not walked a mile in their shoes or experienced the difficulties of their profession. Maybe I should recognize that I don’t understand the discipline and training it takes to be a professional athlete, or the sacrifice they may have to endure. Maybe I should remember that I don’t live that lavish lifestyle and can’t imagine the pressure they must be under to make a basket, throw a strike, or hit a baseball.

Upon further reflection, I think that the best thing for me to do is to stick with what I know best…….law enforcement. I will not judge them, I will not expect perfection from them, and I will not get angry and throw a tantrum because of my lack of understanding for what they must endure. Rather, I will do exactly what I am called to do, PROTECT and SERVE the citizens of this great nation. I will do so without malice, bias, or prejudices against any person, race, ethnicity, or creed, as I have always done. I will not judge all professional athletes based upon the actions of a few. And when they are in need, I will be there to help. I’ve committed to these principles because that is who I am, and because that is the difference between being essential and non-essential. It is my purpose, and I will follow it!

So, you can disregard my boycott. I’ll continue to serve, in my own lane, based upon the premise of a better tomorrow and the possibility of positively IMPACT the life of another! I hope and pray many others will do the same.

Response my response on my Facebook page was:

As Law Enforcement you are crossing the line.

This is a total 360 from the Unity Walk

I don’t watch the NBA but I follow and support Good Law Enforcement and to compare NBA and your title as a Chief of Police is just ludicrous.

This is a Racist Post!

This is about Black Professional Athletes and conversations about Black Folk getting shot by Police.

Why in the hell would a Law Enforcement Officer post some mess like this.

But when and if Tarboro Citizens should stage a boycott I am going to see how you respond to that.

And for anyone who like this post especially Black Folk you got some serious issues when it comes to Race Relations. But all of you got time to get it right!

But this is what we are dealing with that damn Trump Disease.

The citizens of Tarboro but not limited to ought to be outraged!

Deborah Dew-Jordan I can’t believe you commented on this post.

Issue 2

On today Sunday August 30, 2020 I received the following. Some folk are concerned the Chief is out of control. So the question is, can anyone park their personal vehicle on the sidewalk in front of the courthouse and take photos?

I got a problem with the behavior of the Tarboro Police Chief Jesse Webb that I have seen over the past couple of days.

I remember how the 1st Black Police Chief Damon Williams was treated during his stay in Tarboro.

If Williams had posted on his Facebook page about Boycotting Nascar, parked his personal vehicle in front of the courthouse and posted it as a profile on his page, I wonder how that would have turned out.

I see that on today that the Chief has changed the status of his Facebook page.

I am requesting that the Tarboro Town Council to review the actions of the Chief and respond accordingly.

Thanking you in advance.

Tarboro NC – Confederate Statue Removed Unannounced From The Tarboro Town Common On Saturday August 29, 2020

imageClick On Photo For More Photos

Tarboro Town Council Members voted 5-3 to remove statue on Monday August 10, 2020 and 19 days later count’er done!

Hell no this will not change hi story but that was not the purpose. The purpose is to change the environment and the scenery.

The Confederate Lovers are Big Mad! They are the same lovers who would say why we can’t all get along? You can’t change history. The Confederate Monument has nothing to do with intimidation when it came to Black Folk and White Folk who support Black Folk knowing how they have been mistreated over the years.

Folk you better look at who are saying what. These are the same folk who have been lying to you all of these years that act as if your Black Life Matter when in fact they talk to you and talk about you when you ain’t around. Imagine what they have been saying about Black Folk since August 10 not dating back over the years.

Some of these folk have shown just how mean and cold they are because although they are mad about the removal of the statue, how can these church folk say some of the things they have said? Unless . . .

Response To Chief Jesse Webb Tarboro Police Department

I have been trying to figure out what in the hell happened to the original conversation about the original post because I have a problem with the play of words that was used from start to finish. I am going to fast forward to the end which should be the damn end of discussion.

Now I would love to see another removal either voluntarily or removal by the Tarboro Council.

Now the following:

Upon further reflection, I think that the best thing for me to do is to stick with what I know best…….law enforcement.

But Chief you should have thought about that before you did the post. You crossed the damn line.

I will not judge them, I will not expect perfection from them, and I will not get angry and throw a tantrum because of my lack of understanding for what they must endure.

But Chief you not only judged athletes but you insulted the hell out of them.

Rather, I will do exactly what I am called to do, PROTECT and SERVE the citizens of this great nation.

But Chief they are doing what the hell they are called to do. They are professionals in what they do and that is why it is called the NBA.

I will do so without malice, bias, or prejudices against any person, race, ethnicity, or creed, as I have always done.

But Chief you did all of that in the post and you can fix it up however the hell you please but I have a problem with it. We all know the majority of the players are Black and that is and has been a problem when the trend went from a majority White to Black. That is and has been a problem because damn the rules were changed in college to try to change the trend but that failed.

I will not judge all professional athletes based upon the actions of a few.

But Chief what do you mean by this? The actions of a few that protested or what are you saying because the issue with what happened was to protest in response to the murder of the Black guy by the police in Wisconsin.

And when they are in need, I will be there to help.

But Chief really? Why in the hell should I accept you have my back when you have made such a statement during a time of brother being killed by a person in your field?

I’ve committed to these principles because that is who I am, and because that is the difference between being essential and non-essential. It is my purpose, and I will follow it!

But Chief I sure hope you are committed in your heart because I damn sure do not see it in your actions. You say who you are but what you posted is what I see and also with my knowledge of what has been and based on the reports I have heard about your department, it is functioning but it is not where it ought to be. I am talking about from policing to the Blacks in command.

So, you can disregard my boycott. I’ll continue to serve, in my own lane, based upon the premise of a better tomorrow and the possibility of positively IMPACT the life of another! I hope and pray many others will do the same.

But Chief I can not disregard your boycott because you crossed the line and should have stayed in your lane.

But Chief you said a lot of stuff in this post and for me it is unacceptable at a time when Law Enforcement is under scrutiny and you have done nothing but put fuel on the fire.

But Chief it is not okay to take the NBA moment to show that they are concerned about what is going on across America as it relates to police shooting Black folk.

But Chief as a Black man I support Law Enforcement because I know all of them are not bad but your post didn’t address the issue at hand police shootings but you made it about the damn NBA players who have not committed a crime. Damn they didn’t burn down or tear up anything but sent a message in a peaceful protest or as you stated Boycott.

But Chief if this had been the Sheriff of Edgecombe County the whole conversation would be different.

But Chief when the Sheriff and others were seeking more money for them do you speak up?

But Chief when your Department need back up who do you call?

But Chief when the Sympathy March was held did the Edgecombe County Sheriff Office get called to the table for the planning?

But Chief why did you have other Police Departments to come to Tarboro on that Sunday?

But Chief you need to take the weekend and think about what you did with this post and report back how you crossed the line and what you feel you should do to send a message to little Black Boys and Girls that it is okay to be good at what you do be it sports or law enforcement but not limited to.

But Chief what Sports and Law Enforcement have atleast one thing in common and that is discipline. Sports is about discipline and so is Law Enforcement.

Now for anyone who have a problem with me let me set the damn record straight. I have been a community and political activist since the late 80’s. I have been actively engaged in the Edgecombe County Democratic Party since the late 80’s. I have been actively engaged in the Edgecombe County NAACP since 1992 and I am a Life Fully Paid Member and 2nd Vice President. I am the Legal Redress Chair.

I hold folk accountable for their actions and tell folk to hold me accountable for my actions as well.

This is what I do.

And the following can help you understand just a little bit more about me as well not mentioning I have been blogging for many years now.

The Quigless Clinic: Its Impact on the Lives of African Americans Living in Tarboro, North Carolina, in the 1950s

Dr Milton Douglas Quigless, a graduate of Meharry Medical College, arrived in Tarboro, North Carolina, in 1936 to practice medicine. For 10 years, he tried to obtain hospital privileges at the Edgecombe General Hospital, but segregation laws prevented him from performing surgery and admitting ill patients to this local facility. After years of frustration, Dr Quig-less decided to establish his own hospital so that he could adequately care for his patients. In 1946, the doors of the Quigless Hospital-Clinic opened—the first hospital for blacks in Tarboro. As a noted family physician and distinguished community leader, Dr Quigless had an enormous impact on the lives of multiple generations of North Carolinians. (See Original)

Tarboro Town Council Vote 5 – 3 To Remove The Confederate Monument From The Town Commons Monday August 10, 2020

Tarboro Town Council Meeting Monday August 10, 2020 7:00 PM

So why is the Town Council blocking out the video so we can’t see who are online.

A realtor she talked about the statue can not be removed because the Town don’t have the right to.

So County Commissioner Billy Wooten how many folk did you actually talk to since you say you represent about 7000 citizens.

You say you were present to represent yourself so if that was the case why in the hell did you go there talking about who you talked to and what they said. You say no one came to you. Why should they come to you when you are not on the Town Council that is who they should have gone to.

It is obvious you are speaking for yourself and other Caucasians that you are representing.

As my Edgecombe County Commissioner when are you going to address the Racial Issues on the 4th Floor of the County Building?

    I’ll wait!

Patsy Miller Really? Oh Racism exist in Tarboro. Nope can’t change what is in someones heart but can change the environment.

Brandy Paige Chappell – Educator For removable and gave an education lesson on history of Confederacy.

She talked about the person who dedicated the statue he talked about beating a Negro.

    Move Statue to the Museum.

Eddie Taylor – Chose not to come forward.

Dan Leggett – Plumber Wow! No he didn’t got there about Freedom Hill sign? The hell those folk went through to build up Princeville can not be compared to the Confederate Monument.

Man – Compromise – Council need to decide.

Elijah Sellers – 11th Grader Statue must come down. We have compromised for so long that is compromise. Black have dealt with it for years. Differentiate a statue from a house. Look at how Black women were raped and black folk have been whipped. Statue must come down. Compromise is to remove the statue. Statue is a symbol of a broken system. Hand Claps!

Demetrius Hill – Sympathy Walk Care less about the statue but he has a problem with folk saying they didn’t know the town have a problem with racism. Just do what is right.

Phillip Lampron Principal Prep School Tarboro – From Duplin County. Should be moved. Town is divided by Racism. Told stories about stories of what has happened in Tarboro over the years.

Damn he said he never seen Caucasians stand around the Common before now but talking about why folk want to talk about it now. Damn that was good!

Cornel Boyd – 1st Class of Integration in Tarboro Gave the history of how the School name of Tarboro High voted on it ot never be Tarboro High again but now it is Tarboro High again.

Bryce Knight – Decisions are made with division in mind. Save Our Town and Our Statue on Veterans Marque. That is with division not all folk in the town.

Statue is an imaginary divide of the streets. Simply unite instead and not divide.

Old Tarboro, family history where money gonna come from? Need to look at when it was erected. It was not about honoring the dead. Band played Dixie. Daughters of Confederacy found money to put it up. Jim Crow was intimidation tactic.

A tangible reminder of Slavery. Outright Treason. Represent lynching and against the right to vote. Redlining and gerrymandering.

Time to put right over wrong. Just do the right thing.

Loretta Hilliard All for removing statue. Heard so many things that folk said tonight. You don’t have the right to tell Black Folk how to feel and think. This generation is bolder now so we are ready to speak out now. We have educated ourselves and now is the time.

Want to know how I feel ask me? And don’t say I should not feel that way.

The movement is not going to stop as Dan Leggett said.

Not intimidated by the monument but I stand with removing it.

Alyssa Ruffing – Statue should come down. Why compromise? Black Folk been compromising all of their life.

How can you move forward by not taking it down?

Greg Higgs – Attended 3 meetings. Blacks, outsiders coming to destroy the town but no Black folk spoke about White this and that.

Do you really want to tell the children in the school system the truth? Not!

Family members were afraid to walk across the Commons.

If you tell the folk the truth about the statue they will feel a certain kind of way.

Steve Revage – Don’t know what it is like to be Black. Not in favor of removing statue. Sir we don’t need no damn statue to teach our children. Said the children are educated and the parents need to teach them life lessons.

    Now time for the vote.

Council do have a legal right to remove the statue per the attorney.

Othar Woodard made motion to remove.

Councilman Othar Woodard gave speech will be false information about the statue will continue as long as it is still standing.

Councilman Brown have made progress. Talked to more Blacks than Whites. Some were long and some were short. Did talk to people.

Councilman Taylor concerned about bids for removable. Later meeting who would be new owners would be. Procedures would have to be followed.

Councilman John Jenkins substitute motion need to decide to take it down to consist of 4 people. Talked about COVID-19 where would the money come from?

No the hell he didn’t say it was 50 – 50 or 60 – 40 depends on which side you are on. Really?

I believe that this is an illegal substitute motion.

Talking about postponing the vote to form a committee and come back and hear the committee. Really!

Who in the hell is the lawyer because this is getting out of control?

Tell them Othar you don’t put this in the control of the lawyer. This is SYSTEMIC RACISM!

Councilman Tate Mayo – Support Jenkins motion.

Divisive issue – Don’t see why we need a Confederate Monument.

Should not have the monument on The Commons.

Councilwoman Deborah Dew-Jordan said it need to come down. It is not about us but it is about what is right.

Voted on Substitute Motion it was voted against then asked for a hand vote. Failed a 2nd time.

Damn who keeping the minutes they should have the damn motion written down.

    Vote to Remove.

Another comment Councilman X said respect the vote.

Damn carry the damn vote through and announce Statue coming down.

Well I will say Statue voted to be Removed!

Damn gone to another agenda item. Really!

Councilman Leo Taylor said Oh hell yeah the Daughter of Confederacy didn’t give a damn about Black Folk during that time so yes it was Intentional Racism.

I agree the intent does not matter but the impact! Thank you!

Now he say he is fired up. Told them to go vote and run for a seat if you want to.

Said he learned from the COVID-19 experience.

Elijah Sellers was the best speaker of the evening. He covered all that needed to be said.

I love to hear from young folk.

Tarboro NC – Fun Fact, The Fountain Is Racist Too! Fountain On The Town Commons

    Alyssa Ruffing

Fun fact, the fountain is racist too. Words said at its unveiling:

A local choir sang “The Old Confederate, He’s good enough for me,” after which George Fountain introduced the speaker of the day, Colonel John L. Bridges the captain of the Edgecombe Guards at the time of Wyatt’s death. He spoke of the meaning and importance of monuments to the Southerner saying, “War may change and settle a policy, but it can never change or destroy a principle, therefore the south was right in fighting for the principle of her people. It is very gratifying to see and know and see that the heroic deed… is being written in stone and bronze…”

I also feel like, as white people, we can’t just excuse the racism with “oh its pretty so it can stay”. That doesn’t sit well with me. Just because it’s pretty doesn’t make it ok.

Tarboro NC – Tarboro Town Council Took No Vote On Removing The Monument On The Town Commons

I was wondering where WHIG-TV was today during the Rocky Mount City Council meeting so I learned they were in Tarboro at the Tarboro Town Council Meeting.

I understand that during Public Comments Monika Fleming historian of Edgecombe County and her husband started out the conversation about the monument on the Town Common.

I understand Rev. Kenneth Parker, Marquetta Dickens and Alissa Ruffin to remove monument. Commissioner Viola Harris said she lives across the street from the statue and she agreed with the Caucasians who support not taking it down and the people need to vote on it. Harris said let the people vote. Doris Stith interviewed young people and elderly and they all wanted it to go. Rev. J.O. Williams spoke about a cross being burned in his yard. Quincy Robinson said need to write the wrong.

I understand there were several Caucasians who spoke in support of not removing the statue.

I understand the 3 Black council members were for removing the statue while the Caucasian members were all against.

I can’t wait to see who all did speak especially to see how many that attended the Sympathy Walk that spoke either in favor or against removing the Confederate Monument.

I understand WHIG-TV videoed so the meeting so I look forward to watching the video.

Information was from some sources that attended the meeting.

Tarboro NC – The Fountain On The Town Common & Tarboro Police Patch Implemented By A Former Chief Not From Edgecombe County

    Kathy Williams

    17 mins ·

If you live in Tarboro, call your councilman!! The fountain on the town common is part of Tarboro PD’s patch that was designed and implemented in 2012 (hint the current chief was not chief then). Make your feelings known!!

    Ken Ruffin

    3 hrs

Please take a moment this weekend to call your councilman and tell them how you feel about removal of statues in our town commons. If nobody says anything it means you want them down.

Tarboro NC – I Was Added To A Group That Is Going After The Organizers Of The Sympathy Walk

I was added to a group that is going after the organizers of the sympathy walk that was held recently as different areas were protesting and rallying because of Black Lives Matter but I left the group.

I didn’t agree with how the group carried it out and it appeared that Jesse Webb Tarboro Police Chief had organized it. If the folk who were a part of the walk liked it, I loved it.

I voiced my opinion about the walk and I believe one of the organizers Unfriended me and if they did it because they got offended with what I said then that is a they problem. My comments were focused on the chief comments during the march and those that have continued afterwards.

Tarboro is sitting on a time bomb as it relates to the Confederate Monument on the Commons because the conversation is being avoided publicly. There are some conversations going on but folk ain’t talking to the right folk. This is doing nothing but causing division among Black Folk while the Caucasian community is just sitting and waiting to see how this thing going to unfold.

My question is why do Tarboro feel it is exempt from the Confederate Monument issue that is going on across the nation because something is going to be done. There are some folk that are going to make sure the monument is on the table of discussion.

I challenge the folk of Tarboro to stop going at it in that group talking about the Sympathy Walk. The walk is done and over so now the discussion need to be geared toward talking about the issues that are going on across the nation and especially in the local areas. Rocky Mount, Greenville, Wilson and other surrounding areas are and have been dealing with the monument issue and other so you better get onboard.

In my closing I have seen where a certain person is going after a female and what I do not condone is to be a part of a group and allow a male to go after a female. So if any males are in the group and they are not telling the male that he need to leave the female alone then something is wrong.

Now if anyone don’t understand the significance of the Confederacy after looking at the following video and do not have a change of heart then something is wrong. The Truth About The Confederacy In The United States “Who Controls The Past Control The Future, Who Controls The Future Control The Past!”

    Now Run & Tell That!
