I remember back in 2012 when the Local Government Commission presented a series of investigative reports on the Town of Princeville and everybody thought that was something. Hell the Princeville Ignant 3 former Mayor Priscilla Everette-Oates, former Mayor Pro-tem Isabelle Purvis-Andrews and former Commissioner Calvin Sherrod did some damage to the town. However it was the former Mayor Everette-Oates who the report names as spending money without proper documentation. I feel the worst damage was not particularly the money but how the Princeville 3 voted to keep Princeville right where they were and did not vote to move the town forward. For me that was much worse than the $8,000 I believe is in question now that Mayor Everette-Oates has not accounted for, but it is pending in the courts. She can’t put it off too many more times.
Now I am waiting for the report to come out about the investigation with the Town of Tarboro former Town Manager Sam Nobles. I know what I read on the Daily Southerner website last year when the Town of Tarboro hired a private investigator to investigate Nobles that report looked much worse. I believe the LGC report will probably be more in depth than the private investigator’s report.
I have been told the report was suppose to become public 10 days from a previous meeting so that should be within the next couple of days.
Response: I hate I missed this meeting because I would have loved to have captured this on video.
PRINCEVILLE — PRINCEVILLE – A question asked during the town’s monthly meeting Monday caused tempers to flare for two board members while a separate issue dealt with one board member who criticized the police chief’s work. (More)
For the second time Mayor Priscilla Everette-Oates, Mayor Pro-tem Isabelle Purvis-Andrews and Interim Town Manager Maggie Boyd did not attend the meeting. Commissioners Calvin Sherrod, Ann Howell and Gwendolyn Knight were present.
See who attended the meeting and what information was shared and the questions that were asked.

Princeville citizens the time is coming again for you to come out to hear what LGC has to say and to ask any questions you may have. This meeting held in November was a very productive and formative meeting.

Response: I would think that by now the Attorney General’s Office and the State Treasurer’s Office are involved. The sad part is that Mayor Priscilla Everette-Oates, Mayor Pro-tem Isabelle Purvis-Andrews, Commissioner Calvin Sherrod and Maggie Boyd interim Town Manager really and truly believe they have done a great job. If I could say one word, “IGNANT!”
PRINCEVILLE — The Town of Princeville’s annual audit report is past due for the second consecutive year, but this time, the fault does not lie solely in the hands of the town adminstration. The North Carolina Department of State Treasure State and Local Government Commission, which took over the town’s finances last July, is responsible. (More)
TARBORO — PRINCEVILLE — Mayor Priscilla Everette-Oates, commissioner Isabelle Purvis-Andrews and interim town manager Maggie Boyd did not meet the Dec. 7 deadline set by the Local Government Commission for them to respond to questionable reimbursements they received from the town.
In a Nov. 7 letter to Everette-Oates and members of the board of commissioners, LGC listed 12 items concerning reimbursements to Everette-Oates, two to Purvis-Andrews and one to Boyd totaling $4,111. Everette-Oates’ reimbursements made up the lion’s share ($3,307) while two items tied to Purvis-Andrews combined for $600. Boyd had one for $204. (More)
