New superintendent brings fresh approach – Rocky Mount Telegram

Edgecombe County Public Schools’ newest superintendent is taking stock of the school system as she uses her unique skill set to assess the challenges ahead.

Dr. Valerie Bridges has plenty of qualifications for her new position. She has served as associate superintendent in Edgecombe County for more than four years. Before that, she served as an assistant superintendent in both Edgecombe and Washington county schools. She has also worked in Guilford and Wake county public schools as a high school teacher, middle school assistant principal and elementary principal. (Read more)

Dr. Valerie Bridgers Associate Superintendent Edgecombe County Public Schools Named Superintendent

Dr. Valerie Bridgers was named Superintendent of Edgecombe County Public Schools to replace John Farrelly. Mr. Farrelly last day is June 30 and will report to Dare County Public Schools on July 1st as their Superintendent. Dr. Bridgers was appointed to serve as the next Superintendent of Edgecombe County Public School with a 4 year contract.
