On February 28th 2015, 4 kids unexpectedly had their hero taken away from them. Their father George Dickens Jr. was fatally shot at his place of business. Four kids ages 16, 14, 5 & 3 lives have been forever changed.
George was well known throughout his community as a local barber and well known from state to state as a music writer, producer and artist.
Our goal is to provide some support and assistance for his kids. George was a family man. He put time in with his wife and kids & while nothing outside of him being here can replace that, the plans & dreams he had for them should still be carried out in his honor. In his honor we can all help make this possible.

Just look at all of the places and events that I recorded via DVD and Photos just over the past week alone that I have shared with you. You have some powerful videos of the Dr. Martin L. King Jr. Celebrations ending on yesterday however if you missed those over the past week, Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II will be in Rocky Mount Sunday evening at 7 PM.
The local newspapers give you a summary of their opinion of the events, however I give you my opinion but I also give you the opportunity to watch the event and form your own opinion. Now you can’t get it no better than that and free too!
If I had the finances I could do so much more and could also be able to pay for you to be able to watch my videos on your cell phone/tablet. I could also pay to Livestream (broadcast live) the events as I am recording them.
Individuals, organizations, churches, political events, weddings and other events see what The DCN News Blog/Online TV can do to showcase your events.
Send your donations today.
Thanking you in advance!
TARBORO – Edgecombe County Public Schools will be moving its central office into a new $1.3 million building in 2015.
If that was not good news enough, the better news is the facility will put no strain on the school system’s budget and will not cost taxpayers anything.
The Edgecombe County Board of Education recently passed a resolution accepting a gift from Barnhill Contracting Co. of the company’s former headquarters building and adjacent storage facility on Main Street.
“I was blown out of the water by that kind of gift,” Superintendent John Farrelly said. “It speaks dramatically to their support of education and what we’re doing. It also says a lot about how they feel about the community. (Source: Read more)
