WASHINGTON — The House passed a sweeping police reform bill on Thursday largely along party lines to address systemic racism and police brutality in the wake of the death of George Floyd.

“Exactly one month ago, George Floyd spoke his final words — ‘I can’t breathe’ — and changed the course of history,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said on the steps outside the Capitol Thursday morning, flanked by House Democrats, including members of the Congressional Black Caucus, chaired by Rep. Karen Bass of California. (Read more)

Nash County – Damn I Was Shocked To See Sheriff Keith Stone Come On My TV Saying He Will Not Enforce Masks While I Work In Nash County

So now I see why a co-worker said to me today that he didn’t think Nash County was not going to enforce the Mask thing. I said that is crazy. He said it is political. I said really. He said folk making it political. I said it is about being safe. He said it is political because they want to make us wear chips. I said what does that have to do with a mask?

Wow I just seen a news flash WRAL was going to come back and talk to Keith Stone about he was not going to enforce wearing a mask. So now I see what the co-worker was talking about.

When Stone came back they even talked about he had posted a statement on his Facebook Page. Now let me go over there as I type to see it.

Damn the plot thickens as I read what the following post. Obviously my co-worker had seen this however he probably had not but I probably know who told him.

Nash County Sheriff’s Office

8 hrs ·

We are getting questions about the enforcement of the mask mandate from the Governor. We will not be issuing citations to individuals for not wearing a mask. As you can see in the picture, as part of the Executive Order, law enforcement will not be enforcing the order on individuals, but only has the authority to enforce it on businesses.

Sheriff Stone has made it clear that unless there are some extenuating circumstances, we will not enforcing the mask order at all. He believes that each individual should make that choice depending on what their situations are. If you choose to wear a mask, then do so. If you choose not, then don’t.

“We’re not out patrolling looking for people with masks on,” Stone said. “What we’re doing is the same thing we did before this epidemic, is fight gangs, guns and drugs.”

Damn I just don’t get it, who expect the Sheriff Office to just patrol folk who don’t wear masks. I expect the Sheriff Office to to do their job be it all the above and more and to respect authority being our Governor/Legislators.

The Political Agitator’s response: Now I find this to be disrespectful to authority being the Office of the Governor Roy Cooper Stone saying that he will not be enforcing the mask order at all. I have an issue with it because I work in Nash County and stop by gas stations, eateries and etc. But what I will not do is shop where places are not following the order. Stone it ain’t about what you believe because you only have control over what you believe your employees should do to comply with your expectations. Our my and your Democratic Governor is the one with the authority to make the call and anyone who disrespects his office should be handled accordingly per the Governor’s Office.

But actually most businesses and restaurants are in the city limits so therefore it should be the local police departments that should receive calls. Funny have not heard any local police departments speak to the issue on will they enforce the order.

Robin Williams Braswell Some of the comments on this thread ‍♀️ The Executive Order is directed towards the businesses not the individual. The business is expected to enforce it with their employees and patrons. If someone doesn’t comply and is asked to leave then law enforcement can be called for trespassing, not for not wearing a mask. Law Enforcement has enough on their hands without people thinking they can call 911 because someone isn’t wearing a mask. Their oath of office is to support and maintain the constitution and laws of the United States and of North Carolina. Once again, my statements have nothing to do with how I feel about wearing a mask.

The Political Agitator’s response: But Robin one should not call Law Enforcement unless it is to report businesses that do not comply and that is the whole point. So are you saying that the only laws that are suppose to be enforced are the ones in the constitution because I think it would be ludicrous to think that all laws are in the constitution. However you statement should have something to do with how you feel about wearing a mask because that is your constitutional right freedom of speech and also you are in Nash County from time to time and you ought to be concerned about folk wearing mask. So are you only concerned about the Governor not wearing a mask when he come on TV to do a Press Conference? But I have not seen you respond to the posts I have responded to when Tarboro Police Department continue to be in photo ops especially with little Black Boys and there were/are no social distancing nor anyone wear a mask. But you liked those photo-ops my friend. Also Van Holland is always posting mess about the Governor not wearing a mask and just disrespecting him just sad.

Damn to have to wake up and go to work in Nash County everyday to know that the Top Law Enforcement in the County is promoting disrespecting our Governor makes me think about things and folk a whole lot different.

Wilmington Police Dept. terminates 3 veteran officers for ‘hate-filled speech’ caught on patrol car video

Winston-Salem, North Carolina — Three members of the Wilmington, North Carolina Police Department have been fired after being caught on video making racist and threatening comments. One said a civil war necessary to wipe black people off the map and he was ready.

The department took the action Tuesday against Cpl. Jessie Moore and officers Kevin Piner and Brian Gilmore. Each was accused of violating standards of conduct, criticism and use of inappropriate jokes and slurs.

After conferring with the City Council, Wilmington City Manager Sterling Cheatham cleared Police Chief Donny Williams to release the details.

“When I first learned of these conversations, I was shocked, saddened and disgusted,” Williams said at a news conference on Wednesday. “There is no place for this behavior in our agency or our city and it will not be tolerated.”

According to CBS Wilmington affiliate WWAY-TV, Williams made the announcement on his first official day as chief, calling the case “the most exceptional and difficult” one he’s encountered in his career.

Police Department documents show that a sergeant was conducting a video audit as part of a monthly inspection and was reviewing footage from Piner’s car that had been classified as “accidental activation.” After the sergeant listened to the conversation and determined comments made by Piner and Moore were “extremely racist,” she contacted the department administrator for the camera system. Fired Wilmington cop: “We are just going to go out and start slaughtering them f—— ni—–. I can’t wait. God, I can’t wait.” [Free read]

imageWILMINGTON — “We are just gonna go out and start slaughtering them fu—– ni—–. I can’t wait. God, I can’t wait.

These are the words of a now-former Wilmington Police Department officer Kevin Piner.

He, along with two other officers have been fired from the department after dash-cam footage recorded two phone conversations — accidentally — and a supervisor conducting a routine audit of the videos found the disturbing content.

Michael ‘Kevin’ Piner, James ‘Brian’ Gilmore, and Jessie E. Moore II were all terminated from the force. The announcement came from the new Chief of Police Donny Williams — not even 24-hours into his first day as chief. (Read more)

Sheriff Wes Tripp This Is White Privilege & Disrespect For Authority

The Political Agitator’s response: This is White Privilege and disrespect for authority. Wearing masks is what appears to be keeping the spread of the Coronavirus down. This is not a personal decision when one goes out in the public this is a directive by the Governor. It is a shame that this is made political by some folk especially Republicans.
Wes Tripp

I certainly encourage people to be careful and take safety precautions, however your Sheriff’s Office will not be taking enforcement actions against people or businesses for not wearing masks.

The wearing of a mask is a personal decision, not one of a governor in Raleigh.
