Koch group condemns ‘divisiveness’ and ‘lack of leadership’ in Washington – Washington Post

The Gate Keeper: It is getting gooder, gooder and damn gooder!

COLORADO SPRINGS — Top officials with the donor network affiliated with billionaire industrialist Charles Koch this weekend sought to distance the network from the Republican Party and President Trump, citing tariff and immigration policies and “divisive” rhetoric out of Washington.

At a gathering of hundreds of donors at the Broadmoor resort here, officials reiterated their plans to spend as much as $400 million on policy issues and political campaigns during the 2018 cycle. Earlier this year, they announced heavy spending on helping Republicans hold the Senate. But in a warning shot to Trump and the GOP, network co-chair Brian Hooks lamented “tremendous lack of leadership” in Trump’s Washington and the “deterioration of the core institutions of society.”

Trump campaign flag on NC ferry triggers social media squabble, DOT investigation – News & Observer

A photo showing a Trump 2020 campaign flag flying atop a state-operated ferry on the Outer Banks has rubbed some people the wrong way since it hit social media.

Catherine Mitchell posted the photo in the community section of the North Carolina Ferry System Facebook page Thursday evening, saying it was taken aboard the MV Frisco ferry.

How would the person who flew this flag feel about a Hillary Clinton flag instead? I thought that government services were supposed to serve everyone and not be political.” (Read more)

So it is obvious those who have a problem with the players staying in the locker room and kneeling during the anthem is ignant to the facts, in denial or don’t give a damn about others freedom of speech. Oh but the same folk will say it is about freedom.

I am so damn glad I can see, read and comprehend for myself.

‘I cannot condone the misogyny, the racism’: Oregon Republican becomes Democrat, citing Trump – USA Today

,A devout Republican commissioner in northwest Oregon says she can no longer stand by the party because of Trump’s “racist tactics” and changed her political affiliation to become a Democrat.

Lori Stegmann left a long explanation on her Facebook page on Wednesday for her sudden choice after spending her entire adult life as a conservative. She chronicled her love of conservative leaders over the years and her start in the U.S. as an orphan and immigrant from South Korea.

Stegmann explained to her constituents in Multnomah County, which encompasses Portland, that she didn’t want to leave the party but “it became impossible for me to stay.”

“I have not changed but the Republican party clearly has,” Stegmann said in her message. “There’s too much at stake in our country right now and we have to speak out. As a woman, a business owner, a mother, an immigrant, and a minority I cannot condone the misogyny, the racism, and the unethical and immoral behavior of the current administration.” (Read more)
