Seventeen years ago Hurricane Floyd all but washed away the historic town of Princeville in Edgecombe County. Princeville, recorded as the oldest town in the US to be chartered by freed African American slaves, is set on the banks of the Tar River. Once again residents find their town engulfed by those waters and evacuated from their homes.
My Home, NC set out with the National Guard to see how they are managing to help amid dangerous conditions and get the people of Princeville on the road to recovery and home.
