While there are many companies lending their expertise to the planning of the proposed downtown community facility, several of the key players represent talent fostered in the Twin Counties.
The lead architecture firm, Oakley-Collier Architect, was co-founded by Tim Oakley who moved to Rocky Mount as a toddler. Victor Vines, who was born and raised in Edgecombe County, and his Raleigh-based company Vines Architecture also are on the design team, which put together a schematic of the facility for officials and the public to see in November.
