Study recommends closing two Nash-Rocky Mount schools – Rocky Mount Telegram


An independent study by an outside consulting firm suggests that Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools could slash its operating budget by more than $9 million over a five-year period by closing Parker Middle and Red Oak Elementary schools, cutting staff and instituting other measures to improve efficiency.

Evergreen Solutions, which was hired by Nash County commissioners earlier this year, presented its report before a joint meeting of the Nash-Rocky Mount Board of Education and Nash County Board of Commissioners on Monday night.
