Teacher turnover decreases – Rocky Mount Telegram


Even though the teacher turnover rate for North Carolina increased again this year, the turnover rate for Nash-Rocky Mount and Edgecombe County public schools both fell slightly and yet remain high compared with other North Carolina school systems.

The state teacher turnover rate for the 2014-15 school year was 14.85 percent, up from the 14.12 percent reported to the N.C. General Assembly for the 2013-14 school year. The state teacher turnover rate has increased in all but one year in the past five years, said N.C. Superintendent of Public Instruction June Atkinson, and is now at a five-year peak.
