Recently released 2014-15 school performance grades for Edgecombe County Public Schools revealed a significant uptick in school growth measures, but only slight improvement in the overall school report card grades.
“Several Edgecombe County Public Schools met or exceeded student achievement growth measures,” Edgecombe County School Superintendent John Farrelly said. “Many of our schools also made significant gains in overall student proficiency data in tested subjects.”
Edgecombe County Public Schools had five schools that exceeded expected growth during the 2014-15 school year, compared to only one school that exceeded growth during the previous year. The school system also decreased the number of schools that did not meet growth. Only three schools out of the 14 schools in the system did not meet growth this past year compared to four schools in the previous year. (Source: Read more)
