Pinetops NC – Jenkins Café An Old Landmark Has Burned Down

The old Jenkins Café was operated as a store and grill and the name of it was called Ali’s. On Wednesday morning around 4:00 AM it was burned to the ground.


A little history about Jenkins Café. Jordan and Ann Vines’ grand children mostly lived in Pinetops where several became successful entrepreneurs in business and commerce. Mollie Vines Pender, the daughter of George Vines, owned Ms. Bull’s Café. Nathan Jenkins, the son of George Ann Vines Jenkins, owned Jenkins Café. Buddy Jenkins, another son of George Ann Vines Jenkins, owned Jenkins Cleaners. Preston and Carrie Barnes Hussey, the daughter of Amy Vines Barnes, owned Hussey Grocery and Cleaners.
