Tarboro NC – Kentucky Fried Chicken Will Not Be Going There Again Unless I Hear They Got A New Manager

Maybe it was how I was dressed on yesterday in this photo. I forgot to add the photo after taking it for the sole purpose that I thought I was dressed appropriate with a nice pair of shorts.

Today I went into Kentucky Fried Chicken, went to the bathroom and washed my hands. I went to the table and set up my laptop. As I set down and had just turned on my laptop the manager hollered and asked was I purchasing anything today? I said yes I am. I sat there and then I asked may I ask you why you asked? She said because of the internet. I said it is not on your door that you have to purchase anything. I said but I am and then again I may not.

And then she and another female employee acted as if I had committed a crime. The other female said that the manager had the right to ask me but I guess I didn’t have the right to ask her. The other female said they do it at McDonalds. I said I have never been asked.

But what got me is it sounded like the female asked the manager could they turn the internet off and she said yes.

Well damn I am trying to figure out why these 2 black females felt today was the day to pick on me. Wrong!

I am so glad the assistant county manager who will be the new county manager when the county manager retires in a a couple of months was sitting in there. I like that brother because he drive a Malibu and I do too. (A little humor cause I ain’t mad!)

I packed up my bag and as I was walking out the door I told the black guy that worked there to give them my card because I was going to write about them on my blog and they could read it for themselves.

I parked next door at the service station that is closed and I got out my laptop parked under the shelter with my air condition on and wrote my story.

Well many damn times I have gone in there and they don’t have any chicken or I had to wait for chicken when they are a chicken restaurant just makes no sense to me. Hell I normally spend $20.00 plus dollars because I have eaten there and then took food home for the family or just take a family pack home.

I just stopped in there a couple of nights ago because my wife wanted some grill chicken and they had no grill chicken so I had to go to Bojangles and get a family value pack.

I ought to have asked for the manager’s name and called corporate but it ain’t that damn serious. Now if something was wrong with my food, different story.

  2. When u look the word RUDE up her photo is next to it. We the customers as a whole could stop going there. Sorry for the increase in unemployment but something needs to be done about that manager she has been like that for years just rude.

  3. I quit going to KFC long ago. In any state! My husband wanted to go a couple months ago so I gave in. Poor service, no white chicken cooked, cold mashed potatoes and limp cole slaw! Never, ever again! Hubby will just have to go alone. There food has gone way down hill in taste. I can remember when the slaw and biscuits were great. I quit calling management on fast food restaurants because it does no good. And no I don’t want a $5 gift card to go somewhere that has the same issues! I think you were poorly treated all the way around!

  4. Since when is it ok to go into any establishment just to use their wifi? Go to the library or better yet pay for it and do it at home!

      What in the hell am I gonna go to the library for when I was going to buy some food from them. And even I buy food from them I am paying for the use.

      If it is for paying customers then the simple thing to do is make it so they have to get a password.

      Hell you need a password at the library. But the library has books so should I have to sign out a book? Negative!

      I will get on the Internet wherever I know it is available to the public.

      Do your comment is just as ignant as those folk at KFC.

  5. It is a shame, but customer service seems to be a thing of the past. I stopped going to that KFC long ago for just that reason. It’s pitiful.

  6. yes the Manager in that dinky place is very loud, boisterous,and unprofessional, I fell so sorry for the people that have to work with her, she makes them fell so small even in front of the customers.I had a run in with her over a coupon, of course I stood my ground with her!

  7. Have you been to this establishment before, used there space and/or wifi and not purchased anything? Maybe this is an ongoing issue for them. If the door says customers enjoy free wifi, you’re not a customer if you don’t buy anything. The argument here is really the rudeness and disrespect, no matter what your attire was that day. That’s irrelevant. But I believe that when you said “I may not” (purchase anything)they could ask you to leave. Politely of course. It’s loitering.

      I answered the questions in my initial post so I ain’t gonna entertain your ignance.

      May be an ongoing issue for them but not with me so that is irrelevant when it comes to me. Hell don’t anybody go there so they ought to be glad a car is seen in the parking lot, maybe it will draw some folk in.

      I threw the damn attire in because can’t say I was looking like a thug!

      But this is my damn story so I will tell my story and you have an option if you want to read it.

      Oh hell no they could not have asked me to leave, for what reason?

      Ain’t no damn loitering sign on the door either.

      So don’t come on my blog with your ignance and not using a real name but want to attempt make it look like I did something wrong.

  8. I had a similar incident there a few months back, maybe more like 6. I wanted a sandwich but I wanted to up size the side! (Apparently, KFC does not do that). The girl who took my order was unsure if she could do it so she called the manager to the register and the manager proceeded to yell at the girl (while I am standing there) and said “This is not McDonalds, if they want that, they can go there” –The manager never once looked at me or my girlfriend who was with me at the time. She only spoke to the young girl at the cash register. Normally, I don’t care, but today was different. She struck me the wrong way. Needless to say, we went elsewhere! I also called corp and they said they would make up for it and send them a letter and me a gift card, never heard of anything else. Such a shame that a place like that is in Tarboro. Time for something different in that location. You don’t treat your customers that way, I have worked in food service for many years and I would never treat someone that way! Rant over….

  10. That’s Tarboro for you. Nobody cares anymore. It’s like that at McDonald’s, Burger King bad service every where. If you want to eat in Tarboro, better lower your standards.

  12. I sorry that happened to you but calling corporate won’t do any good either. I sent them a message about the poor service I have received the last 3 times I have been there and yes I buy the family pack as well. They only thing they did was sent a $5 coupon that I probably have to wait 20 minutes to use because they don’t have chicken ready.

  13. The general manager in there is always a bitch with a nasty attitude towards everybody she should have been fired you shouldn’t be allowed to treat or talk to customers the way she does in that store you are not the first to complain something needs to be done

      First of all they didn’t know if I was using the Hotspot on my phone and as I just stated if they wanted to keep up with who uses their Wi-Fi they would have it passpord protected. I should have been pardoned? I had not done anything.

      My phone automatically connects when I go in there and everybody else when they goes in there and they have connected. This goes for anywhere I go that offer free Wi-Fi.

      Nope it was not that serious for me, you see I have been in there many of times and used my laptop and they didn’t ask was I using theirs or mines in which again I repeat if that was an issue, they should have had it passpword protected.

      You can also go back in there and find out who they were!

      Finding out who they were is no problem because if I wanted to call corporate they could find out who were working on that day, at that time.

      I cannot believe you didn’t call COOPORATE WHILE AT THE TABLE ON YOUR LAPTOP! I WOULD HAVE!
