TARBORO – The Edgecombe County Public Schools Board of Education voted Monday to draw up a resolution opposing the division of Rocky Mount schools along county lines; however, the issue was not even raised during the joint meeting with Edgecombe County commissioners.
Last week, the Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools Board of Education also voted to request the legal staff to draw up a resolution opposing the county line division. NASHVILLE – The Nash County Board of Commissioners voted Monday to seek legislation that would split Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools.
The board voted 4-3 to ask the N.C. General Assembly to introduce a bill that could send as many as 2,000 students who live on the Edgecombe County side of Rocky Mount to Edgecombe County Public Schools. (Source: Read more)
