Anyone still attempting to argue that Ebonics is a problem for black students or that it is somehow connected to a lack of intelligence

Response: I love it when folks come on my blog and criticize my posts. Hell but they prove the point because they gets the message and if they didn’t their ignant ass would not respond to me not one time, but continue to respond over and over again. But the sad thing these ignant asses got options. Their options is not an option because their main goal is to attempt to discredit me just like they want to do to black students whom they feel are not affluent and don’t act white or like the all who have forgot from whence they come. Ya’ll gonna learn the day!

"…anyone still attempting to argue that Ebonics is a problem for black students or that it is somehow connected to a lack of intelligence or lack of desire to achieve is about as useful as a Betamax video cassette player, and it’s time for those folks to be retired, be they teachers, administrators, or community leaders, so the rest of us can try to do some real work in the service of equal access for black students and all students." – Adam J Banks

  1. So “acting white” means knowing how to read, write, or speak English? I suppose a black person who can do those things is a sell out in your world, right?

Yes. Instead of saying it’s OK to speak in a manner that won’t help them get ahead in the real world, students should be held to a higher standard. Speaking and writing in an uneducated manner will continue to keep black folks down.
