TARBORO – Edgecombe County officials are appealing an N.C. administrative law judge’s decision that the county must reinstate Marva Scott as director of social services.
Attorneys who represent the county’s social services board, county commissioners and the county manager filed a petition for judicial review in N.C. Superior Court in Tarboro. They are asking the court to reverse the administrative law judge’s decision granting summary judgment in Scott’s favor and ordering the county to reinstate Scott and pay her attorneys’ fees of $62,750. They also are asking the court to uphold the decision of the county’s social services board to terminate Scott. (More)
