GOP Starting to Rebel Against No-Tax-Hikes Pledge – ABC News

With the fiscal cliff looming for the United States, some Republican members of Congress said today they are ready to break a long standing pledge not to raise taxes.

"The only pledge we should be making to each other is to avoid becoming Greece. And Republicans should put revenue on the table," South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham said on ABC’s "This Week." (More)

CEO Council Demands Cuts To Poor, Elderly While Reaping Billions In Government Contracts, Tax Breaks – HuffPost

WASHINGTON — The corporate CEOs who have made a high-profile foray into deficit negotiations have themselves been substantially responsible for the size of the deficit they now want closed.

The companies represented by executives working with the Campaign To Fix The Debt have received trillions in federal war contracts, subsidies and bailouts, as well as specialized tax breaks and loopholes that virtually eliminate the companies’ tax bills. (More)

Party of Entitled Rich Threatens Economy – Truthout

Republicans, the party of the nation’s entitled rich, are holding a knife to the throat of America’s frail recovery.

The GOP sore losers have America up against a wall. Republicans don’t care that the majority of the country voted for a candidate who promised to raise taxes on the rich. Republicans don’t care that an even larger majority – 60 percent – told election day pollsters they wanted those taxes raised. (More)

"Republican supermajorities in both North Carolina chambers are likely to push for income tax cuts and sweeping education changes, including broader merit pay for public school teachers and expanded tax credits for parents who send their children to private schools. Also on the agenda: a photo identification requirement for voting that was vetoed in 2011 by Democratic Gov. Beverly Perdue.

Deflated Democrats, who haven’t been so shut out of control in more than a century, hope new Republican Gov. Pat McCrory will at least consider their concerns.

“We’ll go forward. We have no choice,” said minority whip Rep. Deborah Ross."

Sheriff: Detective admits threatening president, will retire – Liberal Unite

Response: Watch out now! Too damn ignant! Allowed to retire? Now ain’t that nothing! Maybe after he gets some long term jail time. Well!

A Jacksonville police officer has quit after admitting he told colleagues that he would volunteer to assassinate President Barack Obama.

Sam Koivisto told the Florida Times-Union on Wednesday that his comments had been blown out of proportion and that he’d planned to retire in five months anyway.

The 57-year-old retired earlier this month while facing an internal investigation into his comments to other officers after the election. He told them that if an order came to kill Obama, he “wouldn’t mind being the guy.” (More)

Lincoln, Liberty and Two Americas – New York Times

Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth, upon this continent, a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation, so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.”

Those are the opening words of Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, and they seem eerily prescient today because once again this country finds itself increasingly divided and pondering the future of this great union and the very ideas of liberty and equality for all. (More)

President Barack Obama! 4 More Years!

No matter who was elected the President when I went to bed on Tuesday November 6,  2012 I would have had to get my butt up and go to work and continue to do what I do every since I have been in the world since December 25, 1962.

I have survived all the Presidents before this past election and I will continue to do what I do to survive in the days ahead.

So even if that other guy had won, so what? I would have to continue to be actively engaged in politics just like I have since I have been old enough to vote.

So I said all of that to say this. All of you who have a problem with "Our" current President Ignant Racist White folks and Ignant Safe Negroes you may as well get the hell over it. But remember you have options and if you can’t figure them out I will give you one. You can move wherever. You see I am not talking about all white folks nor all black folks but only the ones who meet the definitions above.

Watch out now! You better act like you know! "Our" President has 4 more years.

Proud!

I am so proud of baby girl India Matita’ Dancy who is in her Senior Year at North Carolina Central University majoring in Political Science. Has been on the Honor Roll every year.

I Met With Ebony Magazine Senior/White House Correspondent Editor Kevin Chappell & Douglas Brooks On Monday About The Princeville Saga

I believe the meeting with Kevin Chappell and Douglas Brooks was very productive. Chappell said he wanted to get the truth out in the Ebony Magazine February 2013 Edition so that the people across the nation will see what is really going on.

I gave Chappell the video of the meeting in Raleigh when the Local Government Commission took over the finances in Princeville. I also gave him a copy of the video that was held in Princeville on Monday November 12, 2012 hosted by the NC Treasurer’s Department and the Local Government Commission so that the people of Princeville could ask questions and to receive an update about the status of the town.

I told Chappell that after talking to all the people that he came in to contact with on both sides that the videos will tell the story.

So if you would like to share your story with Chappell please contact me and I will forward your contact information.

I don’t know what will be printed in the magazine so I will have to wait patiently.

Pinetops NC – Two charged in brutal attack on Tarboro toddler – WRAL (Thanks Edgecombe County Sheriff Department And The SBI For An Awesome Job)

Tarboro, N.C. — A 2-year-old child beaten beyond recognition at a babysitter’s house in Tarboro earlier this month was also sexually assaulted, authorities said Tuesday, after charging two people in the attack.

Cirilo Torido-Bastida, 41, of Macclesfield, faces two counts of first-degree forcible sex offense and one count of assault inflicting serious bodily injury. He was placed in the Edgecombe County jail Tuesday under a $855,000 secured bond.

Chelsey Elane Speight, 20, of Tarboro, was charged with accessory after the fact on all three counts and placed in the Edgecombe County jail under a $355,000 secured bond. (More)

Response: Well the Edgecombe County Sheriff Department said the findings would be released. I was willing to wait for the findings and had no reason to question their statements each time they spoke with the media.

I stated that if the findings released showed that the white female deserves a higher bond that it will happen. So the charges for the female are different than the previous charges so therefore the bond was set higher this time. (Did anyone notice the new picture of the female?)

I am so glad that folks like Rob Redmond gets it when he said that, Justice isn’t always served instantaneously. And though my support was there & I would have been honored to have led the charge, I never signed the petition. The reason is because after a few days, I realized that the investigation was still ongoing. To me, there was never a need for a petition until the investigation was complete AND justice had not been served.”  I totally agree with this brother however I realized it day one that the investigation was ongoing.

I am ashamed of some of the events and conversations that have taken place in the name of JUSTICE. Do anyone understand that this is just the beginning of a situation that is going to continue for quite some time? Do anyone understand what is going to take place in the next couple of days, weeks and years to come? I don’t think so. However again I am going to ask you to let’s talk about it especially those who have cussed me out when all I did was trying to make people understand that they needed to wait for the SBI and the Edgecombe County Sheriff Office to release their findings.

It is a damn shame that some folks want to make our fine Edgecombe County Sheriff Department look like the victim when they are sworn to serve the public. I strongly feel that our Edgecombe County Sheriff Department did an awesome job preparing the evidence while keeping the integrity of the office in check.

The following quotes from the Daily Southerner Monday November 12th Edition are right on point: “Sheriff James Knight has released very limited details of the investigation, citing the sensitivity of the case and noting he didn’t want to impede on the ongoing investigation.”

“Knight said his department has been working almost around the clock to solve this horrendous crime. He said DNA samples have been sent to SBI. Routine DNA samples take up to two weeks or more for the lab work to return. Knight asked for special treatment in this case and said he is expecting the results back by this week.”

"I have sympathy for this 2-year-old child," Knight said. "She didn’t deserve this. As the sheriff of Edgecombe County, I’m going to make sure that every rock is uncovered until we arrest everybody who has anything to do with this incident. I ask the public to please bear with us as we investigate this incident. We are not taking this lightly. This is a very sensitive case and we are doing everything that we can to make sure everybody that is involve will be prosecuted."

Now with that being said by our fine Edgecombe County Sheriff Department there have been some folks who have been very disrespectful. I have a problem with our Sheriff Department being disrespected because I know we have one of the best, if not the best Sheriff Department within the state of North Carolina. I have not read one comment whereby some of these folks who say they want Justice, thanking our fine Sheriff Department and the SBI for their work. However I did read whereby one person wanted to thank the people who came together putting pressure on the people to handle the case, not! The case was being handled whether the people came together or not. So let’s don’t get it twisted.

Rev. Nehemiah Smith editor of The Weekly Defender said at the gathering at the Pinetops Car Wash he understood the Sheriff Department had a job to do but they could show their face. Well Rev. I stand by my Sheriff Department and I appreciate how they handled this case. The Edgecombe County Sheriff Department, the ministers, the NAACP, elected officials and community leaders not showing up at the Car Wash had no bearing on this case whatsoever because the evidence was in the hands of the SBI. You see Rev. when you have a gathering of such, if you really seeking justice you would have invited the SBI and/or the Edgecombe County Sheriff Department to come and assure the people that they are working on the case.

Now I am going to be waiting patiently to see what happens next because my resources tell me that this is going to get ugly.

Someone called me tonight as I was walking in the SouthWest Edgecombe vs Nash Central Basketball game to ask me had I seen the news. I said no. They begin to tell me about the arrests. I said thanks I will pull it up on my phone but about that time I had got a text message from WRAL about the arrests. I was happy to know that the findings had been released and the arrests had been made because I am ready for this case to go to the next level.
