You Damn Right I Have A Valid Reason

Butch, I love you brother, so please, let me give you some brotherly advice. Don’t use the word "I" so damn much when you write. Unless, of course, you have some valid reason to do that. Is it you that you want the reader to focus on, or is the truth within the story? Don’t make anyone ask this question? Bring your shit and bring it correct! My brother.

Note: First of all thank you my brother for sending this to me in my inbox. You damn right I have a valid reason for saying “I” and “I” will continue to say “I” simply because I know what I have done. You see “I” have been speaking what others were saying and say in the backroom now and “I” get the credit for it because “I” said it where it needed to be said. “I” have taken a lot of heat because  so many scared ass black folks talk a good game but don’t have the balls to say it publicly.

You know what have tickled the hell out of me is the old saying is don’t talk about what you have done. Well “I” used to agree with that but if “I” don’t tell my story who in the hell is going to tell it. Oh hell no, black folks love to go to your funeral and talk about what you have done after you have died.

Well “I” have promoted folks whom “I”  have believed in since the 90’s and “I” have not gained a damn thing from it.  “I” have helped many get appointed and elected from local elections to elections in organizations such as the NAACP and other. I have been a voice in the workforce other areas that felt they were discriminated and etc. “I” have challenged Edgecombe County Public Schools dating back long before “I” had a child in the system as  “I” have helped folks who have had problems within the school system.

“I” could go on because “I” have done my homework over the years. “I” have spent countless hours doing things sacrificing my family and spending my own money.

So my friend you damn right “I” have a valid reason for saying “I”. Simply because many ungreatful and Safe Negroes have benefitted from what “I” have done. “I” have never wanted for anything and have never really had any personal issues that “I” couldn’t basically deal with on my own however some others were at the table as resources.

“I” used to tell the powers that be they needed to recognize folks before they die and they still do not. Why? Greed and damn ignance.

“I” will leave one of my most favorite videos with you by a person whom “I” used to didn’t care for but over the years he has changed and he is one of my favorite people. Some people used to call me Rev. Al and “I” used to tell them “not” because he didn’t do his homework. Well now he is the man and “I” watch this video that “I” had the privilege of recording him back in 2005 in Greensboro NC. The message was “If You Are Scared, Say You Are Scared Rev. Al Sharpton Greensboro NC – October 11, 2005.But “I” changed it to “If You Are Scared, Shut Up and Get The Hell Out of The Way!!”

In my conclusion, how many times have you been on the battlefield with me?

And you know my saying when it comes to people, “I Love You And It Ain’t Nothing You Can Do About It.” That is for all people even those who have a problem with me but you see it has never been about them but about “HIM.” Yep you know who he is.

One last thing, folks used to criticize my writings. Hell “I” used to be about half sleep writing or in a hurry because “I” work a real job and doing many things such as working a real job, going to meetings getting home late at night and other. But you see that let me know they were reading my stuff. Yep, “I” try to keep the criticizers in mind but “I” believe in all of my writings they have gotten the message. May not be good grammar but it is the gospel truth.

Love you my friend and thank you for giving me something else to write about. C. Dancy II – DCN Publisher

Wilson NAACP President Rev. Alonzo Braggs Stepping Down As President

I met Rev. Braggs several years ago in a restaurant in Rocky Mount and he had seen my NAACP hat. During that time I was the NC NAACP State Conference Publicity Chair. He asked me about the NAACP and I put him on my blog mailing list. Rev. Braggs joined the Wilson Branch and became active and he eventually became the President. Rev. Braggs worked hard and put the branch on the map especially has we worked on the James Johnson case. Several months ago I was in Rev. Braggs presence as the State NAACP Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II addressed Rev. Braggs church association during their convention in Greenville NC. Thank you Rev. Braggs for your work during your tenure as President.

Rev. Braggs I hate to see you leave your post but there comes a time when we have to do what we have to do. I know you are going to miss it however you are doing the right thing.

Are You An Obama Democrat? – Source: Unknown

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him,

"Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don’t know where I am."

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You’re in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.

She rolled her eyes and said,"You must be an Obama Democrat."

"I am," replied the man. "How did you know?"

"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct. But I have no idea what to do with your information, and I’m still lost. Frankly, you’ve not been much help to me."

The man smiled and responded,"You must be a Republican."

"I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know?"

"Well," said the man, "you don’t know where you are — or where you are going. You’ve risen to where you are , due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem.
You’re in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but somehow, now it’s my fault."

You are hearing from political pundits that the party of President Obama, the Democratic Party will not do well during the upcomming election. Its an easy call based on historical fact (the party in power always loses seats). A big reason according to a poll by the Pew Trust is that we (minorities) tend to not vote in mid-term elections. Lets change that. Vote Democrat Nov. 2nd!

Its clear to me that the Republican party has no interest in helping the President fix the economy or anything else and if they regain power the country will be in far worse shape.

Further, I think we all know that the withering attacks that this President faces daily are racially motivated. In spite of how the media couches their words, we know that white (tea party)  America does not believe he should be President under any circumstances. The President has done some good things and he deserves our support.

Encourage your friends and family to vote this midterm. Send this email if you think it will help. Create your own or add your comments.
