Today is the day after the 10th Anniversary of the Flood. However today is marks 12 years since my Mom Dorothy Gray Horne Dancy moved on to a better home. My mom and I was very, very close and during her terminal illness I did my part. I was there everyday staying at the hospital every night and going to work the next day. I sat by her bed when she came home and needed bedside care.
While I worked, my wife and some other family members especially Aunt Bertha, Aunt Rose and Aunt Annie Mae was there because they all didn’t work. The others came around when they were not working.
“I Remember Moma” (listen to Shirley Ceasar’s song) I miss her however she is resting in peace and I am at peace. You see when you do your part you can stand. So for all of you who still have a moma, be there in season and out of season.
