It is funny as hell to me that this paper make it appear that the NAACP just want a black person and that if a black person is a candidate that they do not have to qualified. It is evident that the ignant posters here is being led to post ignance due to being lead by opinion just as this. C. Dancy II – TPA
Gov. Bev Perdue should take many factors into consideration in appointing a new district attorney to replace Howard Boney.
But a potential nominee’s county of residence or the color of his or her skin should not be among them. (Rocky Mount Telegram)
This meeting was informative however the meeting in Wilson was more informative in my opinion. C. Dancy II – DCN Publisher
In their first formal meeting since sweeping victories in the November election, Nash County Democratic leaders on Thursday touted recent work to revive the economy at the state and federal levels.
U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge, in town during the spring congressional recess, headlined the forum at Nash Community College by answering questions about what he called “the largest appropriation out of Washington, D.C., of all time.” (Rocky Mount Telegram)
Wilson NC – About 200 People Attended The Forum On The President’s Stimulus Plan
Three Eastern N.C. NAACP presidents, Yolanda Thigpen, left, Edgecombe County; Andre Knight, Rocky Mount Branch; and Alonzo Braggs, Wilson County; along with Reuben Blackwell, from the N.C. State office of the NAACP, held a press conference on the steps of the Tarboro courthouse to ask Gov. Perdue to have a qualified African-American fill the position of D.A. of the seventh district. (Wilson Times)
What tickles the hell out of me is some of the ignant twisted comments trying to make it appear that the NAACP want just a black and not a qualified black. In my opinion the objective is that if a qualified black puts his her name in the hat then the NAACP want the Governor to not just appoint another white person because of the good ole boy system. But this is too heavy for folks to comprehend because all they want to do is go on the attack mode.
I dare any of these ignant posters to address the ratio make up of the District Attorney Offices in Edgecombe, Nash and Wilson Counties.

Burr tells wife to remove cash
Give a politician a stage and enough time and he/she will eventually put his/her foot in his/her mouth. Senator Richard Burr did exactly that in a speech in Hendersonville telling his audience that when he was given a briefing of the condition of our banks last fall he instructed his wife to go the ATM machine and draw out all the cash she could get. Here’s what he said, according to the Hendersonville Times-News: “Tonight, I want you to go to the ATM machine, and I want you to draw out everything it will let you take. And I want you to tomorrow, and I want you to go Sunday. I was convinced on Friday night that if you put a plastic card in an ATM machine the last thing you were going to get was cash.”
Wow! I don’t believe I would have told that Senator Burr. What does this say about your support for our banking system? What does it say about your concern for the rest of us? What does it say about yourself?
Memo to Attorney General Cooper: Please file this story. It may come in handy, say in October 2010.
This is from my most recent mail from NC Spin weekly email. However Burr’s speech can be found here.
