Wilsonian Voices
Today in The Den . . .
Dear Fellow Democrats,
Ya Know… we’re just gonna keep it really…REAL here this morning. And some are really not gonna like what we’re about to say even if it is the truth. And if you find yourself getting really upset about us sharing this well… that’s your challenge to DARE DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT… THE NEXT TIME AROUND and we won’t have to discuss such ludicrous matters. You bettr be glad we’re not calling any names down here . . BUT YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE! And if you know who they are let em know we’re talking about em’ today in "THE DEM DEN."
OK… The Chat in the "DEN" this morning is to all those Fellow "Dems" who decided to help put R.S. "Bucky" Newton in office. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?
AND THEN, to PUBLICLY scold him for his actions in the senate and PUBLICLY ADMIT you’re a "dem" that voted for him and you’ll never do it again . . . HELLOOOO … what a tangled mess you’ve woven. So what favor did you ‘THINK" you were you gonna get outta this?
So here you are talking to Buck Newton about casting his vote to safeguard "Smart Start" and he tells you he can’t do it. Wow. Why not? He then tell you’s because it may jeopardize his re-election next time around. (Wishful thinking on his part to think so – should there be a next time.) We need to make him a "one-time" senator and send his butt back home where he belongs. AND PROBABLY WOULD BE IF YOU HADN’T HELPED HIM – D’UH!
Dear Fellow Dems Who Voted for Bucky Newton,
Do you NOW see how much trouble you’ve caused us. And the horrific embarrassment of discovering you actually voted for this dude of whom WE’RE STUCK WITH for the next four years… Next time around yo’ behind need to ride another "party train" for real and stay off this one. Cause with friends like y’all, we ain’t doing ourselves no favors. And neither are you to this party.
OK . . . We’re through.

On Tuesday voters in Wilson County will be asked to make choices about who will lead this community in key local elected offices and who will represent it in important state and national offices. That civic act is the bedrock of democracy, and we urge residents to go to the polls and make their voices heard. It is a critical responsibility. (Read more)
Note: As a paid subscriber to this paper online and has been over the years, I find this editorial to be quite interesting. I understand you feel as if you have done enough but I feel that sitting out this this year’s election sort of stink. I don’t have to spell it out why I believe it stinks because it should be obvious.
Since Calvin Woodard ran as a Democrat and no other political parties chose to run, the people spoke during the May primary. The Tea Party has ran candidates against other Democrats however they obviously were so sure that Gay would get in that they didn’t run anyone. But why? They were afraid to go after him? So then Farmer switched parties and connected with the Tea Party.
Again I feel that because of the climate in Wilson and all the work you have done, that is all the more reason to endorse candidates. C. Dancy II – DCN Publisher

Eric Hodge: Election Day is less than a week away. Early voting has been heavy throughout the state this month. In Wilson County, early voting has been especially popular. But it’s not the U.S. senate or House that has voters there energized; it’s the race for sheriff between Calvin Woodard and John Farmer. As Dave DeWitt reports, the election of Wilson County’s top lawman has brought cries of racism and shaken up decades of Democratic party dominance. (Read more)

I am glad to see this. Major Farmer has been a key aid to Sheriff Wayne Gay for many years and is going to be a very productive sheriff for Wilson County. By the same token Mr Woodard will make an excellent chief deputy on Farmer’s staff.

The black folks in Wilson gets it so Sheriff Wayne Gays said.
Woodard you don’t have to be apologetic to Gay because he says black folks voted for you. However I am quite sure you had some white supporters but Gay says he has diverse support something that he don’t feel you have. What a damn shame Mr. Gay. It appears Sheriff Gay is very, very angry and can not accept defeat.
