New Bern Mayor Lee Bettis and representatives from the city went to Rocky Mount Thursday night to continue lobbying for lower electric rates.
About 200 people, including state representatives from Nash, Edgecombe and Wilson counties, attended the town hall meeting in an effort to build a coalition between towns receiving utilities from ElectriCities. Along with Bettis, Jon Rynne, New Bern utilities director, and Alderman Dana Outlaw attended the meeting. (Read more)
