Breaking News: Princeville 3 Has Rehired Attorney Charles Chuck Watts Again

Sources say the Princeville 3 Mayor Priscilla Everette-Oates, Commissioners Isabelle Purvis-Andrews and Calvin Sherrod called a special meeting at 5:00 PM today to rehire Attorney Chuck Watts. The word is they re-hired him because no other attorneys applied and that they really needed an attorney. It is quite interesting to know that Attorney Watts attended the meeting.

Sources say Commissioners Gwendolyn Knight and Ann Howell knew about the called meeting but had no idea what the meeting was going to be about.

Several citizens attended the meeting to question the water bills but to find out they could not speak because it was a special call meeting.

Breaking News–Edgecombe County Public Schools To Hold Special Meeting Thursday, August 11, 2011 6:30 PM Edgecombe Community College

Board of Education to hold special meeting Thursday, Aug. 11 The Edgecombe County Board of Education will meet in a special meeting Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the board room in Building A at Edgecombe Community College. The Board will meet in closed session to discuss personnel matters.

Note: Ok here we go again. Why is it ECPS do not use the Robo Call thingy that they invested in to announce such meetings?

I guess they will name an interim Superintendent on this day. Word on the street is it is a done deal and that Dr. Lana VanderLinden will be appointed in the interim. Curmilus Dancy II – The Professional Agitator

Tonight was longtime Edgecombe County Public Schools Superintendent Secretary Juanita Westry’s last board meeting as she begins her official retirement. Rose Cole my classmate is her replacement.

Westberg And I Assume His Lawyer/s Have Gone And Public Meeting Was Called To Order. Now The Board Is In Closed Session Again.

It appears that the earlier meeting included John Westberg former Principal of SouthWest Edgecombe High School who was moved to North Edgecombe High School as a Dean of Students and I assume his lawyer/s. They have gone.

The public meeting was called to order around 8:20 PM. The board

Item (2) the board approved budget amendments for this year.

Item (3) the board approved the reduction of Principals Assistants from 11 months to 10 months and that will save over $77,000. Teacher assistants from 10 months to 9 months and that will save over $44,000. These changes will take place on July 1, 2011.

Ann Kent read the motion to go in closed session.

So now I am waiting for them to go back into open session.
