Final Vote is Friday & Saturday with Veto Override Vote Likely Next Week
Use the color codes above to determine which Democratic House member you can call today. Keep the calls going through Friday night. The House scheduled a final budget vote for Saturday at 12:01 a.m.
Five Democrats are telling Republican leaders they are voting for the Senate budget when it comes to the House on Friday. There are also indications that when Governor Perdue vetoes the new budget, these five are leaning towards overriding her veto, which means over 9,000 educators lose their jobs in the 2011-2012 school year.
Please take the time today to call at least one of these five House members and ask them respectfully, yet sternly, to support Governor Perdue’s veto and to support the complete restoration of teachers, teacher assistants, and support personnel.
Tell them the $124.2 million in added discretionary cuts is a cut to jobs.
