NASHVILLE — The Nash County Planning Board voted Monday that the Board of Commissioners should not rezone a site in Southern Nash County, which is being considered to house a Sanderson Farms poultry processing plant. (Read more)

Rocky Mount officials have confirmed the city has agreed to treat domestic wastewater coming from the proposed Sanderson Farms plant.
Peter Varney, assistant city manager, said their conversations have been with Nash County officials because Nash County is the entity that would provide the water and sewer service for Sanderson Farms. (Must subscribe online to Read more)

The Bailey Town Board of Commissioners has unanimously voted to oppose a poultry processing plant in Southern Nash County.
Nash County officials are trying to convince the Mississippi-based Sanderson Farms to build a processing plant on 150 acres of land at the southeast quadrant of N.C. 97 and Interstate 95. (Read more)
