Greetings Bro Curmilus
I appreciate all that you have done for the media not only here in Edgecombe County but also for the state and nationally. You and I may not have seen everything eye to eye but I can and have respected that about you because no matter what you stand on your own feet.
With that said I will like to share with you and the DCN readers that I will not be seeking re election. I would also ask of you to share with your DCN readers my words if you don’t mind.
First To God, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and Min Farrakhan thank you for helping me to evolve into the person I am now. I also pray that you are not done with me yet and I pray that I made you proud in this phase of my life.
To the citizens of Tarboro I know I may not have fulfilled everything that was asked of me but I would like to share that I did make a sincere and honest effort. You, the citizens of Tarboro was my first public priority. For my leader and guide, Min Farrakhan, teaches me that if you can’t serve the people you should get out of the way and let someone who can serve, A Servant is to serve and serve more.
With that I would like to ask you the voters for the upcoming election not to only vote with your head but vote with your heart. Everything doesn’t have to make sense just make sense to you. Demand that your next Servant serve you and your interest. Also Love them and Support them much more than not, because in reality they are only as strong as you help them to be. The scripture say "let the best of you be your leader" But remember a leader can’t be a leader unless he/she has followers and supporters.
And if I may to the new Servant to be for Ward 6 please be the Servant and Vanguard for the people don’t be the get along go along just for friendships that may not truly be in your or those you represent best interest. Tarboro I believe have more challenging years ahead before the tide come in but with true, hard serving representation I believe you and your colleague can help Tarboro see the better times return.
I would like to thank those that I served with, although we may not have seen the same picture that was in front of us all the time, I would like to say that each of you have taught me something be it good or not so good. I would also ask that each of you take a page from our dear friend book, the late Dr Steve Hoard, hell the book is a 500+ pager so take more than a page take several, by the way my wife was very fun of Doc for his openness. But far from the least but the most important find a real way for fairness and equality for all of Tarboro citizens, Tarboro has truly outgrown the handful of people who think Tarboro is theirs to own and do what they will. Don’t be their hunting dog, good for only one thing, hunting. I would like to leave you with this, work hard to be the Servant that would like to hear the words "Well done thy Good and Faithful Servant". Good luck and God Bless each of you.
To the employees of the town you do a great job and deserve much more and hopefully one day in the near future it would be shown more.
To all the citizens and supporters all over this nation my sincere thank you for supporting me and my family these last few years as we wrote and rewrote this chapter in our lives.
