A few years ago in North Carolina, if a criminal committed a crime in one county and hid across the county line, he likely could avoid being served with warrants for the crime because there was no universal system supplying that information to law enforcement in other jurisdictions. (Paid Content)

An audit of the system used to verify warrants revealed a Middlesex officer who arrested John William Perry, 52, on Feb. 14 specifically asked if two outstanding warrants from Wake County could be printed and served. (Read more)

Regardless of how closely law enforcement officers followed procedure, the death of John William Perry on Valentine’s Day was a senseless tragedy. (Read more)
