Wilson NAACP President Rev. Alonzo Braggs Stepping Down As President

Posted by Curmilus Dancy II (Butch) on October 17, 2010

I met Rev. Braggs several years ago in a restaurant in Rocky Mount and he had seen my NAACP hat. During that time I was the NC NAACP State Conference Publicity Chair. He asked me about the NAACP and I put him on my blog mailing list. Rev. Braggs joined the Wilson Branch and became active and he eventually became the President. Rev. Braggs worked hard and put the branch on the map especially has we worked on the James Johnson case. Several months ago I was in Rev. Braggs presence as the State NAACP Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II addressed Rev. Braggs church association during their convention in Greenville NC. Thank you Rev. Braggs for your work during your tenure as President.

Rev. Braggs I hate to see you leave your post but there comes a time when we have to do what we have to do. I know you are going to miss it however you are doing the right thing.
