Halifax County and Roanoke Valley civil rights icon Monterio Dock Brown, died early Tuesday morning, 81.

Note: Brown was a fighter. I was honored to be in the room with him over the years. The last time I was in the room with him was doing the time we were in Halifax County trying to get Rep.
