The Reason Why Our President Is Catching So Much Hell Is Because Where Is The Media When Local Political Events Take Place And When They Do Show Up, Do They Share The Real Deal With You?

The majority of the time the media do not cover local black political events and when they do do they really share the real deal with you? We, black folks must document these events and get it to the local grassroots folks so they can be educated with truth. This will eliminate the Ignant Racist White Folks mess as they try to mislead folks about our black leaders. It will also eliminate some Safe Negroes who want to hold us right where we are,

I read a lot of things that different people write and/or share that others write trying to discredit the first black President Of These United States of America Barack Obama. I also hear some folks saying ignant mess and I just shake my head.

I am so glad my Congressman G.K. Butterfield keeps us informed about what is really going on in Washington from as an insider. I trust in my Congressman to tell me the real deal and when I hear the President haters tell their story I don’t entertain their ignance.

Anyone in their right mind know that the Republicans in Washington and their supporters are doing everything they can to mislead folks so they will not support President Barack Obama because they have a problem with a black man being President. Anyone who have been keeping up with politics since our President has been in office, know that the Tea Party has been in control of those ignant Republicans in office.

Why is it I always hear about what President Obama is doing/not doing but I don’t hear his haters talking about what the Republicans are doing in Washington. Not a damn thing but cutting. For example since they have made so many cuts why in the hell don’t anyone in their right mind understand that this means hundreds of folks lost their jobs. So who do they blame for the high unemployment rate? Right answer, the black man who just happens to be President. Who did it? God did it made him President and if it was not so after all that he has been through, he would not been able to stand. They tried to say he was not American. Damn fools try to change the rules for their benefit but God said not so.

I am so glad that I am actively engaged in politics and know the majority of the local, state and national politicians that represent me. So many folks can not say that. What tickles the hell out of me, those whom I come in contact with in person and via the internet whom are President Obama haters have never spoken with their representatives and I wouldn’t be scared to bet they don’t know who their representatives are. But these haters try to talk about what our President is doing/not doing but they don’t even know who their local representative is but trying to speak to a national issue.

I have come to the conclusion that I will not entertain ignance from Ignant Racist White Folks nor Safe Negroes the President Obama haters. I will address them by directing them to the information that my Congressman has shared as it relates to what is going on in Washington and then I want them to share with me what their representative has shared with them. They can’t because they rely totally on the media but especially the plenty of racist talk shows hosted by racist white men. However don’t get it twisted because there are some ignant black folks who are misleading folks about our President as well because they are ignant to the facts.

I want to close by saying the haters will say what has our President done and I will simply say do your homework on what he has done because it is documented. When you try to tell your story, just tell the whole story. Begin with where we stood when former President Bill Clinton was in office what he was working with and where we stood when he left. Tell us where Bush stood when he took office and where we stood when he left. And then finally tell us where the black President stood when he took office and where we are today. Don’t start with the black President because it didn’t begin with him.

Nehemiah Smith Says, The DCN Got It All Wrong It Was Not He Who Responded To A Previous Comment

Charles Darwin said, "ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge."  I believe that this is the case with Mr. Dancy’s response to Nehemiah53 who posted a response to Mr. Dancy’s blog entry about Herman Cain’s harassment issues.  Mr. Dancy’s profanity laden response to Nehemiah53 was puzzling. This is so because he addresses Nehemiah53 as Nehemiah Smith, Jr., me.  There’s one problem; I (Nehemiah Smith, Jr.) am not Nehemiah53.  I don’t even know who that is.  I asked my dad if he had posted anything on the blog, but I remembered that he doesn’t use a computer.  I called Nehemiah Jones and asked him if he had posted the reply, but he no longer lives in North Carolina and wasn’t even aware of the blog.  I tried to call the people at the Nehemiah Project in Rocky Mount to see if they had posted the comment, but was unable to reach anyone.  I tried to find out if there was an OES chapter that uses Nehemiah as a designation for their lodge, no luck.  I did find a person named Gary Vinturella who uses the screen name Nehemiah53 but that’s on twitter.

Then I had an opportunity to read "Presidential Candiate, ‘Why Big Daddy Cain?’ Sexual Harrassment Not One Woman But 2!!! Damnit Now!" for the first time.   Above Mr. Dancy attached my name to the comment.  On the original blog, it only says Nehemiah53. 

Mr. Dancy, you assumed that I was Nehemiah53; I’m not and I never will be.  Anyone who knows my writing style will tell you that I would never use square brackets because they are mainly used to enclose explanatory or missing material usually added by someone other than the original author, especially in quoted text.  Also, anyone who is familiar with my writing style knows that I ALWAYS capitalize "Black" when referring to my people. 

Then there is the issue of me bragging about my college education.  When have I ever done that?  Please, name an instance.  It is and always has been uncouth to tout one’s own accomplishments.  Who cares where I went to college or, for that matter, if I did?  But for the grace of God and parents who stressed education, I could have been just another ne’er-do-well walking the streets.

As for what I’m doing in Rocky Mount (not that I have to respond), I was asked by my mother to come home in order to help her out with my ailing father.  I agreed and came home.  That’s what obedient children do.

Then there’s this:  " You come back here and made all kinds of accusations that were far from the truth spending time on a local Gospel Station Talk Show and then you begin to publish a sorry a… newspaper. It appears you connected with the local white folks who have a problem with the black majority city council. It appears you are connected to the local Tea Party as well. This has lead folks to contact me asking me who were financing your sorry a… newspaper. In a previous post entitled “Open letter to the Reverend Nehemiah Smith Jr. Who Has Been Attacking The Rocky Mount City Council About The High Utilities” you wrote, "I see that was not enough because you have begin to publish a well formatted and beautifully laid out weekly newspaper.

Boy is this newspaper what the black community needs in the local area. I have been telling black folks for years that we needed our own newspaper and those (who could a should a) made it happen did nothing. Well I was doing an internet newsletter until a former local newspaper reporter turned me on to blogging and it has worked for me. I receive several hundreds hits per day.

Back to your beautifully laid out newspaper. When I heard about it I said okay he is going to sure nuff attack the councilmembers now especially Rev. Andre Knight. Every paper has actually done such and then in the edition about 3 Thursdays ago you basically said you were out to get the council.

Well sir black folks can’t get a damn simple letter to the editor in the local newspapers at all and if we do they reword, leave out crucial words and etc. so that our real message be lost and will not go out to their subscribers. So sir your paper could give us that outlet that has been much needed in this area whereby we can get our messages out. We could wake up black folks because there is a force out there that do not want the truth to be made known.

Sir I have no problem with you challenging the council and/or Rev. Andre Knight but do your homework. I find some of the things you say to be downright disgusting but that is because I know the councilmembers and Knight and the issues especially the utilities thingy."

Wow!  What a turnaround. 

I have NEVER written on your blog site until now; and, I’m glad I did.  As for Nehemiah53 (not me), I want to know how you came to the conclusion that it was me.  Was it because the person used the name "Nehemiah?"  I hope not.  That would make you guilty of the same ignorance that you accuse me of.

If I had written on your blog in response to the Herman Cain posting, I would have agreed with you.  The Weekly Defender is no Herman Cain supporter nor do we support the Tea Baggers.  I have and always have been a happily registered Democrat.

As for me being a puppet for white folk, do you really believe that?  And if so, you don’t know me very well.  I run me. 

This year marks my 20th year as a licensed minister and my 19th as an ordained Baptist minister.  During this time I have been afforded the opportunity to study the Bible extensively.  Did you know that there are more than 20 people in the Bible with the name Nehemiah?  Also, did you know that none of them are me.  Did you know that there are 9 Nehemiah Smiths in the United States besides me?  I have spoken to all them by phone.   (It’s funny to call a number and ask for yourself.)

Oh yea, tell Nehemiah53 to stop masquerading as me.  At least if you’re going to do that you should study my style a little bit closer.  LOL!

The one thing that did come out of this is that now I know how you really feel.  It only took Nehemiah53 (not me) to bring it out.  As for you responding to me and getting in contact with me, again you assume that I wanted you to.  Sometimes we say things to be cordial.

Response: I must apologize to Nehemiah Smith Jr. because after doing some research I can verify that it was not he who responded. Thank you sir for bringing this to my attention. However I do stand behind all that I said in regards to my response although I regret that I thought you had finally posted here.

I guess we are on the same level, I have never purchased one of you newspapers however it didn’t cost you to read The DCN Online News Blog/Internet TV.

Barbecued Wings, Pork Chop, Sausage, Hot Dogs and Hamburgers/Ordered New Camera

I fired the grill up and put the food on around 10:30 am and the food was done around 12:45 PM. I seasoned the food like I like it and my son said it was some kind of good. The last time I was in a hurry and trying not to put too much season in it for my dad but this time I think he will like it as well.

I also ordered me a new camcorder and paid extra to have it shipped to me by Tuesday. Homecoming will be held during my son’s football game on Thursday so I want to make sure I get it by then. I have a School Board Redistricting meeting on tomorrow night and I hope my camera that is giving me problems will hold out. I have a PTO meeting at my son’s school on Tuesday so maybe the camera will be here before I go to this meeting.

Full of food and pocketbook broke but it is all good. Got to have camera because have a couple of more football games and basketball season will begin soon. Regular School Board meeting coming up in about 3 weeks. Son will be in my cousins wedding in about 2 weeks so I want to be camera ready.

God is good because I have spent a couple of hundred dollars repairing my daughter’s car over the past 2 weeks and had to make some repairs pertaining to my pump (well water) because was without water for a couple of days.

The past couple of weeks have been my season but in spite of it all I still got joy. Trouble don’t last always.

Thank you for accepting to be my friend. I felt that we could learn more about each other by doing so.

I want to also apologize for any and all comments that I have made about you, to you and your friends be they personal or just as members of the Tarboro 27886 group that I may have offended.

I am an agitator however I stand firm on what I believe in and I try to get people to focus on the real issue and not people because if we deal with the real issue of concern it will take care of the people issue. Many times I am misunderstood but when a person get to know me, they understand me.

I always try to begin a discussion as Curmilus Butch Dancy II the majority of the time according to the subject and if I know the people on a personal note. I start out by challenging others to stay within the policies and procedures of the issue involved and other measurable things and not to act solely on emotions. I always try to challenge the policies and procedures because if I don’t like them I recognize  and understand I must seek to change them.

I always hope the discussions that I get involved in goes well but when it does not I put on my agitator hat but I do it out of love.

So again thank you for accepting me as your facebook friend and please accept my apology. We both live in Edgecombe County and we all need to get along but understand it is okay to agree to disagree as we learn our boundaries of where we can go as it relates to speaking for and seeking to speak on issues that are dear to us. I look forward to being able to agree to disagree on issues in the future. We may not agree on a particular issue but I know we will agree on some issues. Heck I don’t even agree with my wife and family all the time and vise versa.

Someone Asked Me What Is The Real Problem Keeping Black Students @ 30% Behind Their White Counterparts (Closing the gap statistics for Edgecombe)

First of all I have posted my opinions on this blog and my previous blogs about issues affecting Edgecombe County Public Schools and Closing the Achievement Gap. I have served on the Closing the Achievement Gap Committee, PTO, School Improvement Team, Edgecombe County Public Schools Advisory Committee and other since the early 90’s long before I had a child in the system so it has never been just about my children. I just reposted this comment a couple of days ago and if you follow the “See related” in the post and do your damn homework you will be more informed. I have called out all folks, organizations and other who say they are concerned about education but are not doing a damn thing.

I am not going to continue to repeat myself about what I have done and what others are doing. However like I said in another post about the board appointment specifically talking about the make up of the district, I have no problem with you or others posting comments about what you feel the closing the achievement gap problems are and other issues but you will not do it in a post whereby the message in that original post gets lost.

You say what is the real problem keeping black students @30% behind their white counterparts (closing the gap statistics for Edgecombe). I have not had time to view the statistics and if you have then I have no problem with you posting the facts from the statistics and not your opinion only. Post the facts from the statistics and then your opinion. However your comments above is somewhat valid however there could be some underlying factors. One example I know for a fact that some white children when they leave and go to college their white parents hire them a tutor. So that means that someone could possibly be giving them better grades than they actually made.

The reason for this disparity is not the racial make up of the school board, the racial make up of the superintendent, or the racial make up of school administrators and teachers.

This is not totally true because I have stated on my blogs, in meetings be they in schools or in the community that when there were all black schools, there were some smart black children. These children went to college and they went on to work in the White House and other good jobs including the government. I have stated that we need to look at what worked then and incorporate it in the system today. Not going to go into a lot of detail because this means a wide range of things including when home economics, agriculture, auto body and more were offered. The staff back then were community based and were not only in touch with the children in school but in the community as well. In the white community, they are connected because the school system today are a white overwhelming majority. Take for instance G.W. Carver Elementary School had no black certified teacher to reach out to the little black children there. So to say that children can’t relate to those who look like them is also ignant as hell.

The gap between whites and blacks in our educational system is due to the value placed on education in households and communities throughout the county. When parents and the community devalue he importance of a good education and does not prepare children to be school ready before kindergarten and each night afterwards, student acedemic performance will suffer.

I have stated over and over again that this is a new day and some children of today are being raised by children because their parents are still children. These are not true parents in my opinion. I just told a Rev. at the last School Board Meeting that I am sick of (black folks) talking about the black parents are not involved. I said that some are not parents and that the black church, black organizations, individuals and others must reach out to the children and appeal to them so they will come to us for guidance. I said to him that the parents are going to resist so we must do all we can to reach out to these children. Hell I have been saying this for years because to keep talking about it is not accomplishing anything but failure.

What is being done by political activists / agitators to address this problem? What community programs exist? What outreach is being conducted?

I have answered the above to much degree in red above. I have stated that some community programs that suppose to be about children that there has been enough monies to come into the community that we should not be dealing with some of the things we are facing. So don’t go there with me about what I ain’t doing because again if you know me personally, do some research on me you will see what I am all about. I will allow others to speak for themselves.

(I know you and your wife have taken an active role in insuring you children’s success by preparing them at home and even volunteering in their schools. It would be euphoric is ever parent took an active roll in their child’s education and took responsibility for raising their children)

This is not about me and my wife because I have stated over and over and over again I was doing this long before I had a child in the system and will continue when my last child leave the system. I am a black male and a black voice for the children and I do what I do because in my opinion I have been ordained to do so. I recognize and understand that all parents are not going to take an active roll in their child’s education and also all of them are not going to raise their child as they should. Again I have touched on that above in red.

I realize that it is extremely important to you and others that black students and parents have black representation in positions of power, but I have not seen any real significant change in overall student performance regardless the hue of the person filling a position.

Again I have addressed this issue above in red. To say that black children can not relate to those who look like them is just too damn ignant. Don’t twist it because yes I can relate to all folks however some do not especially in these years. you see back in the day my grandma and others raised little white children that myself and others went to school with but today that type of relationship do not exist because times have changed. I repeat to say that some black children don’t perform better when they have a person of hue that looks like them, live in their neighborhood, goes to their church and the list goes on, that anyone who sees otherwise if ignant as hell. But then again they may can’t relate because they don’t know what I am talking about as it relates to that time I speak of in this paragraph.

If student achievement would be increased by every school board member being black, then I am all for it. All students need to be ready or college and workforce if this county ever hopes to become a economic power house and for oppertunity to flourish.
It all starts at home.

Student achievement increased by board members is just ignant as hell to me. The achievement must come from the staff that come in contact with the child on a daily basis which is the principal and teachers as it relates to the education. The roll of the school board is to deal with policy and procedures and to hold the staff accountable. The board should play a strong role in going to the REQUIRED TRAINING and learn all they can and to bring back good ideas that work in other systems across the nation.

It is my opinion that school board representatives must be actively engaged in their districts by soliciting from those they represent to see what the issues are. I do not see any of the board members doing that however they could be doing it over the phone or by whatever means. However when they do it in a meeting environment they open it up throughout the county because although a board member is elected by districts, they still represent the entire county.

Now my question to you, what in the hell are you doing since you want to make it about black folks and what they are not doing. Oh you can say anything because you hide behind a code name so therefore I can’t check you out.
