Ignant Column: Princeville NC – Commissioner Gwendolyn Knight and Interim Town Manager Maggie Boyd Appeared In Court Monday May 7, 2012 And Case Dismissed Due To Ignance

I am beginning to think that the Princeville 3 Mayor Priscilla Everette-Oates, Commissioners Isabelle Purvis-Andrews and Calvin Sherrod are using this elderly lady Maggie Boyd Interim Town Manager to go after the younger lady Gwendolyn Knight Commissioner because if Boyd was thinking for herself or if she would have just read her No Contact Order that is legally binding by the courts against Knight she would not continue to run down to the Magistrate Office and/or the Clerk of Court’s Office to take out warrants on Knight. It actually seems to appear that it is beginning to become a pattern of harassment on Boyd’s behalf. It appears that the Princeville 3 has hired Boyd to harass Knight.

A couple of months ago Boyd was granted a No Contact Order by the courts against Knight but Boyd is so caught up in the Princeville 3 dirty work that she is not taking the time to think for herself in my opinion. Both Knight and Boyd can both be in attendance at the Princeville Town Hall Meetings. So for Boyd to think otherwise is just crazy. Futhermore Knight is the boss to the Town Manager so therefore I don’t understand what part of that picture Boyd do not understand.

Sources say in court today Boyd was telling the Judge that Knight was asked to leave the Princeville April regular monthly meeting. Knight had not attended a meeting since the No Contact Order was granted to Boyd. If I had known Knight was going to attend the meeting I would have attended but the meetings ain’t no fun if Knight and Commissioner Ann Howell are not present. Both Knight and Howell tries hard to do what is in the best interest of the town but the Princeville 3 is in the majority so they can’t get anything done. They are sort of caught up like our current President because he has to fight those racist Republicans on every issue. Howell has not attended a meeting since her husband passed. I understand the Judge let Boyd tell her complaint and then he told her what the No Contact Order stated and Boyd said where you get that from? The Judge said on the back of the No Contact Order explains where they both can be in the same place at the same time. Case was then dismissed.

So what will the Princeville 3 have Boyd to do next? Damn what is the role of the town manager? With the audit findings damn it seems they have a plenty for the town manager to do. But better yet why in the hell don’t Maggie Boyd go home so that the saga between her and Commissioner Knight would end. Oh but that is too easy.

So when will the ignance end?

Edgecombe County Politics, Upcoming Candidates Forum

I was reading a local newspaper and I have to respond to editor’s opinion in his letter: 2012: It’s the year of the Sambo – Princeville, the primary and black political postering. Thanks to Dr. Florence Armstrong for making us aware of the letter on your facebook page. I went out today to pick up a paper to see what was in it and I too find the letter very interesting.

Princeville NC: Well the Princeville 3 ie: Mayor Priscilla Everette-Oates, Commissioners Calvin Sherrod and Isabelle Purvis-Andrews are doing whatever the hell they want to do running the town and black folks allow them to. However Maggie Boyd a former commissioner and Daisy Staton an employee of the town could be added to the list to make it the Princeville 5 because they are helping the Princeville 3 carry out their mission. So until the people in Princeville says enough is enough nothing will change.

Commissioners Ann Howell and Gwendolyn Knight have been fighting the Princeville 3 for years. They are treated as if they are not commissioners because they are left out of the decision making from the start to finish. 

The latest mess in Princeville is not sending in the audit on time and the Local Government Commission had to send a letter telling them they have a deadline of April 30th for the audit to be in their office.

Black political postering: I found it funny as hell the editor talked about a pseudo-Civil Rights leading preacher who has stood before the masses and touted the accolades of “Mr. Charlie” but did not call the preacher’s name. But why? Well because I know all of the political players in Edgecombe County I would bet the preacher is Rev. Roosevelt Higgs a precinct chair that should not be. He has pushed some whites agenda and some blacks agenda to keep us right where we are. But Mr. Editor I don’t fault Higgs for what he does but fault those around him for allowing him to do what he does.

Back in the 90’s black folks fought to become the majority on the Edgecombe County Democratic Party Executive Committee but since we have it what in the hell are we doing with it? Many whites stop coming and now you would think it was a black Edgecombe County Democratic Party because of the lack of whites attending. I am talking about white elected officials themselves. They don’t come because they know it is going to be a bunch of ignorance going on at every meeting because Rev. Roosevelt Higgs always keep mess going on. Hell I don’t blame them for not coming. I go so I can speak up and to record the ignance on video that is allowed by the chair Allen Mitchell and others in the room whom allow the mess to go on. Hell everyone in the room knows that Higgs do not live in Speed because there is no living housing on the property that he claims as his residence. The powers that be elected officials and political leaders know this but they allow him to do what he does so until they decide they want to shut him down we will continue to have to deal with his mess. I am so glad this is Mitchell’s last term as the county chair so maybe the next chair will bring about change within the county party because there is much lack of education and the drive to push the Democratic Party forward. We have survived by the grace of God and that is a good thing because he looks out for fools as well.

Sambo: I am not going to get into the Sambo thingy with the Republican Rep. Allen West from Florida. I am more concerned about the Democrats who play both sides in Edgecombe County. I ain’t the only one that knows who they are but I am the only one that talks about it publicly. So what does that make those whom I know, know who continues to say nothing? Again I can go back to Rev. Roosevelt Higgs whom is very much guilty of that when the county chair said he had pictures of Higgs putting up a Republican signs at Edgecombe Community College in Rocky Mount. He shared this with me when I told him I had received calls from Pitt County that Higgs was down there pulling a trailer behind a truck with this same Republican sign in it. So again as long as we allow mess to do on we will continue to get what we get.

My point of view: What tickles the hell out of me is black folks allow so much mess to go on in our communities but do not speak out publicly. Yep they will say it behind closed doors but not where it needs to be said. You see I have received a lot of credit over the years for saying what needs to be said via letters to editor to the local and some statewide newspapers, on local and statewide radio stations, on local tv stations and of course in meetings locally and statewide. Hell I have repeated what others dare to say publicly so therefore I feel good about saying what I say because I know it is right.

I have been actively engaged in politics since the early 90’s and I have seen black folks in action. When I got involved white folks held the majority of the offices in the Edgecombe County Democratic Party Executive Committee. I became the 3rd vice chair of the party not because black folks wanted me so much nor white folks but I was the youngest person to attend the meetings so they had to give me the position by default. I held that position for years but moved up the ladder also again by default.

Today I speak up when foolishness goes on in the meetings and I am not running for anything and don’t have any intentions of running for anything. However my name has come up in the meetings as a nominee for a position on the county executive committee but to get voted down by Safe Negroes because I am my own man and live by my motto: “I have no permanent friends, no permanent enemies only permanent interest.” I don’t give a damn if you are black, brown, white or other if you ain’t right I ain’t with you. But what tickles the hell out of me these same folks who vote against me want my support and then they think I am crazy when I don’t support them. Oh hell no! If you don’t support me now especially when it comes to making a donation to The DCN News Blog/Online TV why in the hell should I feel that will change when you move up the ladder. But these are the same folks who talk about white elected officials don’t do nothing for the black community. But when I ask them what have they asked them to do and they say nothing. Well I be damn.

I am so glad I know who all the players are and can make an informed decision. And when I don’t know something I have some good friends I can call on to get their opinion and trust in them. So when it comes to voting I will tell folks who I am voting for but you can decide for themselves.

Well can’t wait to attend the Edgecombe County Human Relations Forum on Wednesday May 2 at the Edgecombe County Administration Bldg. Auditorium at 6:00 PM. See you there!

State to Princeville: Problems are "very serious" – Daily Southerner

Response: This is going to be interesting can’t wait to see what happens how the State deal with Princeville. This is sad but the people of Princeville are all responsible for the hell of a mess they are in because they have allowed the Princeville 3 to do whatever the hell they pleases. Open Letter To Princeville Commissioner Gwendolyn Knight Why?

Yep! Commissioner Gwendolyn Knight I get it, matter of fact I got it a long time ago. You damn right you have a right to be angry! Hell I am angry for you. But still you can’t drop your guard and allow them to let you get caught up.

Commissioner you were elected by the people in your ward to serve them however you serve all of the people in Princeville although those who live outside of the ward could not vote for you. It is a damn shame that the people you serve have not supported you. You have been fighting and fighting the Princeville 3 seems like forever while the people of Princeville are silent. They are allowing the Princeville 3 Mayor Priscilla Everette-Oates, Commissioners Isabelle Purvis-Andrews and Calvin Sherrod to embarrass black folks in Princeville but not limited to. I don’t live in Princeville but I am embarrassed by the b.s. that has been going on since these jokers have been on the commission.

How many of the good citizens of Princeville have stood up and demanded the Princeville 3 to pay you your money that was withheld by the Mayor because she tried to silence you during a meeting. I thought Commissioner Sherrod did a good thing when he asked that you be paid but the Mayor is still holding on to your money.

In the latest audit findings per the Daily Southerner there is a line that states:

• $7,813 — the amount incurred for a legal dispute relating to a Commissioner to avoid paying $153 in stipends to the Commissioner.

The above makes no damn sense. ("Ignorance will never end. Even those with money can’t buy SENSE!!" Author: Curmilus Dancy II The Political Agitator) When I did the math I came up with they could have paid you 51 times which is almost equivalent to paying you for 4 years. So this mean if they wanted to spend that kind of money they could have just paid you for your 4 years that you serve on the board all at one time.

Commissioner Gwendolyn Knight why do you continue to serve on the Princeville Town Commissioner Board when ungreatful NEGROES do not appreciate you trying to keep the commission legal and about the people of Princeville? Everyone who lives, own property be it land, churches or whatever they ought to be at the March 26, 2012 Princeville Monthy Meeting and say enough is enough.

Commissioner Knight it is obvious the people in Princeville do not give a damn about you because if they did they would attend the meetings to support you. They would have gone to court with you to just show some love, they didn’t have to say anything but to let you know they were standing with you. But hell since they don’t go to the Princeville Town Meeting why in the hell should I show my ignance by thinking they are going to go anywhere from 1 – 3 miles from Princeville to cross the bridge into Tarboro to the Courthouse. Oh well.

Commissioner Knight I know why you do what you do and that is because you want to do what is right. That does not mean that you are always right but your passion is to do what is right. I support your efforts and I will continue to let you know when I agree with you and when I do not. I want the record to show that I have not agreed with anything you have done when it comes to the business of the town, never. However I have said to you many of times to stay calm and do not allow them to get to you. But, I know it is hard because when it looks like everyone is against you and you are trying to do the best that you can for ungreatful NEGROES and they don’t appreciate it, it is a hard pill to swallow. Damn and you put up with the b.s. for $153.00 a month which will not even pay your light bill, grocery and etc. Damn if they had paid you your money then the mess that went down with you and Interim Manager Maggie Boyd may not have ended up in the courts.

In my closing, Commissioner Knight continue to fight the good fight but I beg you to stay calm and don’t get ignant in the meetings. Knight after all the years I have been attending the Princeville meetings and getting to know you, I strongly believe that you will continue to do what is right for the best interest of the town. I strongly believe you know it is not about you, nor the people because the town will be standing when you are no longer on the commission and when you and those that you serve today are no longer in this world. But remember your record will speak for itself because if the minutes are kept correctly, damn I hope they are, folks will be able to go back and read the minutes and see that you Commissioner Gwendolyn Knight served as a commissioner for the Town of Princeville and that you tried to do all you could to help make Princeville a better place to live, work and play.

Princeville audit meeting comes to abrupt ending – Daily Southerner

Response: So why did they go to Pitt County and pay to have the meeting in a hotel conference room? So why did the Mayor excuse one of the Princeville 3 Commissioner Calvin Sherrod and did not let him meet with them? Sources say a Princeville Commissioners met today in Greenville at the expense of the people in Princeville because the meeting cost around $300.00. Rent of the facility $250.00 and for cookies and water.

Because some folks were present the meeting was not held publicly because the recessed and asked those present to leave.

So damn this was money thrown away.

So what did they have to hide. So they didn’t want anyone to know about what was going on with the audit? I understand this was suppose to be a workshop to discuss discrepancies with the town’s budget.

So when are the people of Princeville especially those who called themselves political leaders but not limited to just ordinary tax paying citizens going to demand some accountability from the Princeville 3. It appears Commissioners Ann Howell and Gwendolyn Knight was not present.

Princeville NC – Sources Say Judge Ruled In Favor of Maggie Boyd Princeville Interim Town Manager

Sources say Judge ruled in favor of Maggie Boyd Princeville Interim Town Manager in the case that she filed a charge of assault and stalking against Gwendolyn Knight Princeville Town Commissioner. Knight had filed a charge against Boyd for assault also. These 2 ladies appeared before a Judge in the Edgecombe County Courthouse earlier today. Sources say Knight can not be within 50 feet of Boyd and said that Knight could not address Boyd during the Princeville Town meetings.

So does this mean that Knight can no longer attend the Princeville Town meetings? Will try to get a report on the case.

I attended the Princeville NC 127 Birthday Celebration But Can One Really Celebrate When So Much B.S. Is Going On Among The Commission?

The celebration itself was great however I get disappointed and disgusted with how the Mayor Priscilla Everette-Oates carry out the process. I was so embarrassed but Congressman G.K. Butterfield and the Salvation and Deliverance Choir made the difference.

There were no media other than The Daily Southerner and myself.

The celebration began about 25 minutes late.

I just hate knowing that here we were in Princeville NC celebrating the 127 birthday and the Town Commission has so many issues among themselves.

Where were the Princeville former mayors and former commissioners and other political leaders? Of course the current mayor Everette-Oates was present. Calvin Sherrod was the only commissioner present. The mayor said Commissioner Isabelle Purvis-Andrews mother was sick. She said Commissioner Ann Howell has not been out since her husband died so pray for her and her husband. She said nothing about Commissioner Gwendolyn Knight.

Commissioner Knight and Maggie Boyd Interim Town Manager. Victor Marrow was fired as town manager recently because he would not sign a document to do what the Princeville 3 Mayor Everette-Oates, Commissioner Sherrod and Purvis-Andrews wanted him to do.

Commissioner Knight could not attend because a stalking charge was filed against her by Boyd but this was a second charge. Boyd and Knight had taken out charges for assault against each other. They went to court on Monday February 20 but the judge would not hear the case because he was familiar with the issues in Princeville. So the case was moved to Monday February 27 when another judge from Wilson would be present.

The last I heard the Princeville 3 still has not paid Commissioner Knight for a meeting that the mayor put her out of.

Commissioner Taro Knight Town of Tarboro and Viola Harris Edgecombe County Commissioner and Sheriff James Knight were the only elected officials present.

I left the celebration feeling good about the upcoming election knowing that my Congressman will continue to do a hell of a job. I am pleased to know that the Salvation and Deliverance Choir will continue to make Edgecombe County proud.

But when I left the celebration I did not feel good about the oldest incorporated town by blacks because it is in a hell of mess and it is not because of the white man but because of some ignant black folks.

I can’t wait to see the audit for 2011 because it got to be crazy as hell because some crazy mess has been going on over the past year but not limited to.

The town regular monthly meeting will be held on Monday February 27, 2012 at 7:00 PM.

Commissioner Gwendolyn Knight and Princeville Interim Town Manager Maggie Board were suppose to appear before a judge on Monday February 20, 2012 but the judge said he was familiar with what is going on in Princeville so he refused to listen to the case. The case was moved to Monday February 27 when another judge will be in the house. Sources say that a judge from Wilson NC will be in the house.

Princeville regular monthly meeting will be held on Monday February 27 at 7 PM.

Commissioner Gwendolyn Knight was served with a no contact order for stalking on Tuesday morning. Knight and former Commissioner and interim Town Manager Maggie Boyd are scheduled to be in court on February 20. Both obtained warrants on each other last week.

Breaking News: Princeville 3 Has Rehired Attorney Charles Chuck Watts Again

Sources say the Princeville 3 Mayor Priscilla Everette-Oates, Commissioners Isabelle Purvis-Andrews and Calvin Sherrod called a special meeting at 5:00 PM today to rehire Attorney Chuck Watts. The word is they re-hired him because no other attorneys applied and that they really needed an attorney. It is quite interesting to know that Attorney Watts attended the meeting.

Sources say Commissioners Gwendolyn Knight and Ann Howell knew about the called meeting but had no idea what the meeting was going to be about.

Several citizens attended the meeting to question the water bills but to find out they could not speak because it was a special call meeting.

Note: I reported on Tuesday Princeville NC – The Princeville 3 Fired The Town Attorneys On Monday Night. Damn it is about time somebody go to jail over there because it appears they are doing some illegal stuff. Their actions may not be illegal per the laws as written but they sure as hell meet the qualifications for being IGNANT. TARBORO — PRINCEVILLE — After a heated closed session, the Princeville Board of Commissioners voted 3-2 to terminate its law firm Monday night during the board’s monthly meeting.

The heat began to rise between board members after Mayor Priscilla Everette-Oates called for a closed session that excluded Commissioners Ann Howell and Gwen Knight from taking part at the beginning of that meeting because it was about legal matters concerning the two.

Princeville NC – The Princeville 3 Fired The Town Attorneys On Monday Night

Sources say the The Princeville 3 Mayor Priscilla Everette-Oates, Commissioners Calvin Sherrod and Isabelle Purvis-Andrews fired the town attorneys at the meeting on last night. Sources say the Princeville 3 wanted to meet in closed session without Commissioners Ann Howell and Gwendolyn Knight being present. After the attorneys would not meet with them, they fired them.

Sources also say the town clerk was suspended.

Princeville Board has mixed views on ‘Survival Day’–Source: The Daily Southerner

TARBORO — PRINCEVILLE  – The town’s sponsored three-day event, which is set to begin today, received negative feedback from two commissioners Monday night during Princeville’s monthly meeting.

"Princeville Survivor Week" Celebration starts today with a job fair at the town hall. Thursday and Friday, federal and state government officials are scheduled to speak and workshops have been arranged on the Tarboro Campus of Edgecombe Community College inside the Thomas S. Fleming Building. The event is open to elected officials for a fee of $100 for both days, $50 for citizens. (Read more)
