Leadership, This Is What Comes To Mind When I Think About How Black Folks Allow Mess To Go On But Think Things Are Going To Change. Safe Negroes I Got My Eyes On Them. Talking About Being Outraged? When? Where? Why?

Posted by Curmilus Dancy II (Butch) on April 5, 2012

Talking about being outraged when it comes to the Trayvon Martin case in Sanford Florida but then to not be outraged in your local communities and in your own state about issues and people is just ignant as hell. Many folks get outraged about issues and people outside of their local communities and state because they can play it safe. Safe Negroes is what I call them. I got my eyes on them.

On Saturday March 24, I went to Raleigh to the African American Caucus of the North Carolina Democratic Party General Body Meeting to see for myself just how they operate and most of all because they suppose to be about what is good for black folks. Well I try to keep up with folks who say they are trying to make things better for black folks.

I not only attended the meeting but videoed it and the video is available on The DCN TV so that those who didn’t attend can look at it from the convenience of their home. I was totally pissed because I get so sick and tired of black folks not handling business professionally and by their own By-laws, Constitution, Robert Rules of Order and etc.

Anyone whom has viewed the video ought to be outraged as hell. Not because of who the people are involved so much but outraged about the process. It is my opinion the process was not carried out properly because I don’t believe they followed their own By-laws, Constitution nor the Robert Rules of Order. It is my opinion that the meeting was illegal and totally out of order and control.

It is a damn shame black folks allow mess to go on in our communities and not hold those who do ignant mess accountable for their actions. It is not about liking the President nor the Secretary but should be all about being outraged how this meeting was conducted by a group of black folks who say they are leaders and about making things better for black folks. When things like this happens folks must set aside friendship and family and just do the right thing. Well I have come to the conclusion that the majority of the folks just ain’t going to do that.

But what tickles the hell out of me is that these same folks will talk about what our children are doing in the negative but hell we as adults ain’t together. Our children are watching us and they see we don’t hold each other accountable for our actions, do not promote good black folks (adults) so why should the children be held to a different standard. Our children live what they see and what I have seen when I first got involved in politics in the early 90’s is a bunch of mess. No respect for young folks who wants to get involved so the adults drive them away. But then the adults continue to talk about they don’t know what is wrong. Hell ya’ll ain’t that ignant just in denial or should I say scared? “If you are scared, say it!”

During the time of controversy is when the real, true leaders will take a stand. Please always remember these quotes by Miles Monroe on Inspirational Insights for the Frontline Leader;

"A title and position do not guarantee performance and productivity." "The greatest display of leadership is service." "Until you are willing to die for what you are living for, you cannot become a true leader." "The leader should not be motivated by, or greedy for money." "Leaders are men of faith, for faith is vision." "Leadership demands a commitment of service to others, a placing of the needs of others above our own." "If you are not willing to stand alone in your vision, not many will be willing to stand with you." "It is better to be criticized for action than to be ignored for non-action." "Leadership is lonely, because to lead means you must be out in front, ahead of the followers." "No true leader can expect to live a normal life as other people do." "Leaders belong to their generation and not to themselves." "If you do not want to be criticized, then decide to do nothing in life." "A leaders who knows who he is does not depend on others to validate his sense of self-worth." "True leaders never forget from whence they came, and live to bring others to where they are." One of the greatest dangers to leaders is the temptation to measure all others by oneself." "The true leader does not measure his success by comparing himself with others, but with his own purpose and vision."

My response: Now as I grow older, I pay less attention to what black folks say. I just watch what they do. C. Dancy II – DCN Publisher

Black Folks We Are In A State Of Emergency When It Comes To Education, Murder And Racism To Name A Few. I Am Tired Of The Call To Action After The Tragedy Has Occurred

Posted by Curmilus Dancy II (Butch) on March 22, 2012

Yep! Black folks we are in a state of emergency when it comes to education, murder and racism. When are we going to have an ongoing national call to action day across the nation? I have said it before and now I am saying it again.

Our black children are being targeted when it comes to the education system. But the data you have heard over the years is it really the truth? Check out who are presenting the data and then challenge the data presented.

Our young and old black brothers and sisters are being killed in numbers and most of it is black on black crime. It is sad but what are we doing in our communities when we see things going on that is not right? Do we say anything to the brothers and sisters who are walking around with their pants sagging showing their butts? Do you allow your children to roam the streets and to hang out with older children?

Racism has become the norm and seems like even more since we have a black President. It is a damn shame that racist white folks are saying and doing whatever they want to say and do and nothing is being done. I have never seen a President being disrespected as President Obama. We all know that this was not acceptable during the time of the 43 presidents before our current president.

Folks I am sick and tired of the call to action after a tragedy has occurred. Do we tell our family and friends how much we love them and that they can not get caught up in worldly things because this is a dangerous world.

Folks we must change the way we do things or things are going to continue to get worse.

So are you sick and tired? If yes, what are you going to do? Black folks when we come together and hold each other accountable oh what a time. And then we can hold others accountable also.

Black Folks Better Come Together Like Never Before In 2012. Will You Seek The Facts Or Will You Be Bamboozled?

Posted by Curmilus Dancy II (Butch) on September 18, 2011

We are where I knew we would be as it relates to a Black President not being accepted by racist white folks however what I didn’t think was going to happen was we would allow the Republicans to take over locally and nationally. We must be in the majority to make things happen so therefore we must be in control of the House and Senate on the local and national levels. However when we are in control we must still hold them accountable for their actions.

I knew there would be some blacks who would not accept having a Black President also because hell many blacks didn’t accept Dr. Martin L. King when he was alive but today those same safe Negroes are all about him. This is how the safe Negroes of today will be years from now when President Obama is not in office.

One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough . . .

When We Come Together As A Black People Not All Of Us But Those In Leadership Roles And Those Who Want To Be Involved In What Is Going On Around Them

Posted by Curmilus Dancy II (Butch) on August 22, 2011

Envy, jealousy the crab in the bucket mentality.

Always have been and probably always will be unless there is a coming together. Years ago when I found out how much of the above was going on in our community I said in many meetings that when those who are in leadership roles and those who want to be involved in what is going on come together and put aside their differences then nothing will change. I see very little change today and that change I do see came by the Grace Of God. I don’t hold an office, I am not running for an office however I am concerned about what is going on around me. Hell I don’t have to be concerned because I will be alright but it ain’t about me but about the have nots and those who don’t stand up for themselves for whatever the reasons may be.
