(Memphis 4/15/2010) wreg.com has confirmed civil rights icon Dr. Benjamin Hooks has passed away at age 85.
Hooks, an attorney, was the executive director of the NAACP.
He was also the first African American commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission. (Read more @ Daily Press)
