BEGLOBAL® IS RAFFLING A FREE IPAD2 DURING THE PRE-REGISTRATION FOR ITS SAT & ACT EXAM PREPARATION COURSES![J1]

Special Price Offered Until January 18TH for Enrollees

Local non-profit organization beGlobal ®, founded by an Edgecombe County native in 2007, is offering high school students affordable, yet intensive, test preparation courses to increase their ability to perform well on college entrance exams. The college entrance exam course will include intensive instruction for the SAT and ACT, study guides and testing strategies, essay writing assistance and vocabulary development! Operating on a virtual cloud and in satellite locations in Edgecombe, Nash, Pitt and Wilson counties, these courses will be available to all students, even if the students do not have personal access to the internet.

The facilitator for the course is Sheba Lowe of A+ Test Preparation whose services have received raving reviews from previous students! Former student Raymond Lee stated that without Mrs. Lowe’s assistance, he would not have done nearly as well as he did. This student scored a 2200 on the SAT which included a 1540 out of 1600 in the Mathematics+Verbal scale. beGlobal’s goal with this program is to transport this type of quality service by ramping up the provision of its support and resources provided to the rural students.

Founder Quenesha McNair believes that providing students with studying techniques and tools will help them to develop healthy confidence, resulting in achievement. beGlobal’s test-prep sessions include four one-hour courses that will be rich with instruction for the SAT and ACT tests, study guides, testing strategies, practice exams, essay writing assistance, and test vocabulary development. The first session takes place February 6 – 9th 2012. Each group of intensive courses cost $150 per student; however, there is a great pre-registration incentive. Students who register before January 23rd pay only $100, receive a chance to win a FREE iPAD2 and receive free e-tutoring services with A+ Test Prep through June 30th, 2012. To register visit http://tinyurl.com/6qfah3b or contact Founder directly via email at quenesham@yahoo.com

beGlobal strives to provide academic resources to help rural teens achieve higher levels of education and aptitude. Launched in 2007, beGlobal has grown in leaps and strides to accommodate the multicultural, educational, and developmental needs of rural high school students. Note: Thank you Miss beGlobal for coming back and giving back. It feels good to know that advocating and being part of the children’s live in Pinetops has helped so many stay focused. Sure wish I could have attended however my work schedule would not allow me to. Will be traveling to North Carolina Central NCCU on Friday whereby my daugther India Matita’ Dancy will be a recipient at the Honors Convocation. It is my desire that hopefully one day she will be able to come back and participate in the A.A.W.S. C. Dancy II – DCN Publisher

We Are Always Talking About Our Children Go Away And Don’t Come Back But Check Out What beGlobal Founder Is Doing

Posted by Curmilus Dancy II (Butch) on December 7, 2009

Quenesha McNair is one who I had the privilege of working with in little old Pinetops NC when she was in the group called (A.A.I.R.) Adolescence Against Irresponsible Recreation. This was a children’s group with their own officers. However we the adults were the overseer of the group and we were called (P.A.I.R.) People Against Irresponsible Recreation where by I served as an officer. We more than likely went with that name because all of us at that time were not parents.

Quenesha is different from many of those who have gone away and has not come back to give back. She is different also because she is not an athlete and is not a millionaire. She is a business person and she is reaching out to the children trying to get them to be productive and professional in high school before entering into the real world. She want them to understand that in order to be successful in whatever career path they chooses that they must understand that they first must go through high school and that it makes a difference how they carry themselves.

Because of Quenesha passion for children see what she is trying to do in the Rocky Mount area for some much needed children who have lost their mothers. Folks it is not about the women and how they lived but all about the children. These children need some love because they have lost a precious jewel and a part of life that nothing and no one no matter how much we give will ever take the place of their lost.

Quenesha resides in the Maryland area and is the founder of beGlobal. She is not only doing things in her hometown but she is doing things globally.

So what are we doing to help support one of our own? Some of us can help out monetarily and in other ways. Those can’t help out in any way at the moment can help out by encouraging Quenesha by picking up the phone and/or sending her an email and just let her know you appreciate what she is doing.

Since I operate out of pocket The DCN is limited to what it can do however I will be making a monetary donation in 2010.

Pinetops NC – Quenesha McNair: Want to be heard? Try writing

Posted by Curmilus Dancy II (Butch) on August 23, 2009

I recently had one of the worst weeks of life. I mean a week where I couldn’t get anything right at work.

I made a few large mistakes that crushed my ego, and because I pride myself on being efficient, outside of work, I was a walking zombie. It reminded me of a time I experienced in high school. I was an overzealous senior who was so excited about the direction of my life (graduating and entering college) that I was not closely monitoring the details that currently needed my attention. beGlobal – Quenesha McNair: Depending on elders or idiots

Posted by Curmilus Dancy II (Butch) on August 8, 2009

Quenesha is right on target. First of all I know Quenesha because she grew up in the neighborhood.

I was the secretary of P.A.I.R. (People Against Irresponsible Recreation) and Quenesha was a member of A.A.I.R. (Adolescence Against Irresponsible Recreation) years ago. Yep, we were the village elders and I am very proud of Quenesha and so many other kids we worked with whom have become very productive citizens.

It makes me proud to have been involved with these kids but what I like the most is several of them have moved away but still come back and give back to the neighborhood.

Thank you Quenesha and I look forward to working with beGlobal. C. Dancy II – DCN Publisher

Depending on elders or idiots

If the village elders don’t step up, the village idiots will.

That line is a borrowed quote made by the president of Morehouse College on CNN recently, and I found it to be extremely relevant to the thought behind this column.

I recently read responses to an article in the Telegram written about local teens involved in a shooting and was absolutely appalled. (The Rocky Mount Telegram)

Pinetops NC – Quenesha McNair: College: Ready, set, go

Posted by Curmilus Dancy II (Butch) on July 26, 2009

I recently was provided an amazing opportunity to be the guest speaker for the George Washington Carver Alumni Association Annual Scholarship Banquet. The GW Carver Alumni Association is a great organization strongly committed to the local community. Needless to say, I was honored to be a participant of their ceremony especially because it gave me an opportunity to address teens that were weeks away from being … (a moment of silence is needed for this) … COLLEGE STUDENTS.
